Goodwill Industries of Michiana is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Construction Skilled Trades Instructor to provide engaging, hands-on training for participants in our construction training program. This role is focused on preparing individuals with the technical expertise and essential skills required to thrive in the modern construction industry. The ideal candidate brings solid experience in the field, a passion for serving the community, and the ability to motivate and guide individuals from a variety of backgrounds.

Compensation:

$21 per hour

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver a curriculum focused on essential and technical construction skills, including OSHA regulations, math, tool usage, and basic rigging.
• Organize and facilitate training sessions aligned with local workforce needs and employer expectations.
• Maintain and manage all classroom and training equipment, ensuring readiness and safety.
• Partner with Case Managers and internal departments to support participant progress and identify challenges.
• Engage with local employers to build referral pipelines and job placement opportunities.
• Maintain accurate student records and program documentation to meet accreditation and reporting requirements.
• Serve as a mentor and advocate for individuals facing economic challenges or disabilities.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the construction industry or as a licensed instructor.
• Proven ability to design, update, and deliver effective training curriculum. Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse populations.
• Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to prioritize competing tasks.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and provide proof of insurance to travel to different job sites.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs, travel to build sites, and participate in active, hands-on instruction.

Overview:

We are searching for a Lead Trade Recruiter who enjoys variety in their day and thrives in a fast-paced environment to join our dynamic, innovative, and winning team. This high-volume recruiting role works with local contractors, subcontractors, and other businesses to bring quality skilled trades professionals to projects and jobsites.

Location: Raleigh, NC

Responsibilities:

• Implement cost-effective recruitment functions, including locating and visiting outside centers of recruitment, processing field employee and customer referrals, and weekly contact with inactive field employees
• Maintain a network of contacts to help identify and source qualified candidates
• Contact potentially qualified candidates for specific job openings
• Execute local recruitment programs and provide information about the Company and its opportunities
• Write and place job advertising using various media platforms
• Coordinate participation in events, set up displays, and present at job fairs, schools, and organizations
• Complete all phases of the Associate Hiring Process
• Assist with assignment follow-up visits to ensure customer satisfaction is being met, safety guidelines are being followed, and associate satisfaction including conducting all required Quality Assurance Process steps during customer site visits
• Handle all applicant phone traffic, schedule appointments, administer pre-employment assessments, and coordinate application paperwork; administer post-offer drug screens and conduct applicant background checks; conduct safety and new hire orientation for all associate new hires
• Perform additional responsibilities as required

Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in a related field; Bachelor's Degree preferred
• 2 years' experience in recruiting, customer service, and/or sales
• Construction industry knowledge and/or experience preferred
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure
• Highest commitment to customer service, development, and satisfaction
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and goal-oriented with a strong desire to succeed
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software programs and internet including job boards and social media
• Valid Driver's License and a car that can be used for work
• Bilingual language skills a plus

Salary Range: $60,000 - $75,000 annually, depending on experience and geographic location, plus eligibility for incentive pay, subject to plan terms.

• Oversee the daily operations and administration of multiple apprenticeship programs across various skilled trades.
• Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract diverse and qualified candidates for apprenticeship opportunities.
• Screen and interview potential apprentices, assessing their suitability for specific trades and employers.

• Coordinate and track apprentice training schedules, including both on-the-job training and related technical instruction (RTI).

• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing apprenticeship programs (e.g., DOL standards).
• Serve as a primary point of contact for apprentices, employers, and training providers, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
• Develop and deliver informational sessions and orientation programs for new apprentices and employers.
• Assist in the development of program materials and resources to support apprentice success.
• Prepare reports on program enrollment, completion rates, and other key performance indicators.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Education, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, HR, recruitment, or workforce development, with a focus on apprenticeships or vocational training.
• Strong understanding of the skilled trades industry is highly preferred.
• Knowledge of apprenticeship standards and regulations (e.g., Department of Labor requirements) is a significant asset.
• Excellent organizational and administrative skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in using database management systems, CRM software, and standard office productivity tools.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a remote environment.
