**Job Description:**
BCC Engineering, a Parsons Company is looking for an amazingly talented **Traffic Operations Engineer** to join our team! In this role you will design traffic signals, signing, and pavement markings, support cross-discipline coordination, oversee task execution and quality control, contribute to technical reports and peer reviews, and support team development, project delivery, and potential Engineer-of-Record responsibilities.
**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Analyze and prepare project designs, calculations and drawings for traffic signals, highway signing, and pavement markings, with guidance provided on complex matters
+ Approach tasks with a project mindset, to include coordination with other disciplines throughout the duration of the project; propose innovative solutions to design problems with an understanding of project scope and goals
+ Assign, track, and review tasks of technicians, designers, and engineers, ensuring adherence to project schedules; QC final work product
+ Prepare engineering reports and contract documents for review; perform independent peer reviews on team work products
+ Review contract plans and calculations from other engineering teams and outside entities to verify completion and compliance with governing traffic operations design codes and contract plans and specifications
+ Potential to serve as the Engineer-of-Record for mid-size and miscellaneous traffic operations designs
+ Effectively present proposed team design solutions as part of internal project meetings; attend and contribute to presentations with external parties
+ Adhere to company marketing requirements by providing timely personal resume updates, providing technical proposal support, and participating in marketing campaigns
+ Ensure timely completion of time sheets, expense reports, and labor hours management
+ Take ownership of personal and team member career development by seeking and providing feedback, seizing opportunities to develop and teach new skills, and setting and pursuing goals
+ Contribute to the development of team members through mentorship and modeling positive behaviors
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering
+ Professional Engineer (PE)
+ Years of Experience: 5+ years
+ Experience designing non-standard sign panels for arterials and limited access facilities, cross sections for multi-column signs and overhead sign structures
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Comprehensive knowledge of FDOT processes, procedures and requirements.

Job Description
As a Traffic Operations Quality Control and Automation Specialist, you'll join a collaborative team ensuring that our clients can deliver their services - uninterrupted. Based in Ocoee, FL, you'll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and compliance of Traffic Operations programs through detailed monitoring, auditing, and data quality control. This position supports key programs including TMC operations, Road Rangers, and RISC programs. The Specialist will lead efforts to automate routine tasks, develop performance metrics and dashboards, enhance contract compliance, and drive continuous process improvements that optimize operational efficiency and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Automation Duties
- Automate extraction, flagging, and reconciliation of Road Ranger operational errors from SunGuide reports.
- Develop scripts or dashboards to audit Road Ranger shift times and non-patrol activities.
- Lead data collection & consolidation efforts resulting in automated tracking of RISC response and clearance times using vendor, Asset Maintenance contractor, GPS, and SunGuide data.
- Implement alert systems for Wrong Way Driver events from SunGuide and vendor sources.
- Lead data collection & consolidation efforts resulting in automated data population of STEALTH and RITIS incident reports using FHP dispatch data (CAD) and SunGuide reporting.
- Create automated scheduling and messaging workflows for DMS via SunGuide.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop workflows for automation of third-party data ingestion.
- Be the champion for automation in Traffic Operations
Quality Control Duties
- Perform regular monitoring and auditing of Traffic Operations programs, including:
- Fatal event and secondary crash data review
- Wrong Way Driver monitoring using SunGuide and vendor data
- RISC response time verification in SunGuide
- Road Ranger user access and contract overtime auditing
- Audits of Traffic Operations metrics including Road Ranger shift start/end times and non-patrol activities
- Query SunGuide to identify and report Road Ranger operational errors
- Assist with invoicing and contract documentation for Turnpike Road Ranger programs
- Maintain and inventory Traffic Operations records for compliance with retention policies
Growth & Process Improvement Duties
- Collaborate with IT and operations to automate routine QC tasks and develop data extraction tools
- Create and maintain KPIs and performance dashboards to communicate program effectiveness
- Document and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and best practices for operational and quality assurance workflows
- Validate and quality-check third-party data sources prior to integration with operational systems
- Conduct contract compliance audits beyond Road Ranger contracts as needed
- Lead training sessions and coordinate quality improvement initiatives with field and vendor teams
- Participate in incident data analysis and after-action reviews, recommending improvements to operational procedures
- Support technology pilot testing and provide feedback to system developers
- Oversee document retention processes and assist with public records requests as necessary

- 3-5 years of experience in traffic operations, quality control, data analysis, or a related field, preferably with exposure to transportation programs or operational auditing.
- Familiarity with Traffic Management Center (TMC) operations, SunGuide system, Road Ranger programs, and RISC initiatives is highly desirable.
- Associate's degree in Transportation, Engineering, Public Administration, Data Analytics, or two years of experience in a related discipline preferred
- Driver's license with no major infractions
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
