How will you contribute:
Ahern is seeking qualified applicants for the Sprinkler Fitter Apprenticeship program to work within the Appleton, WI, and Green Bay, WI areas. This is a 5-year apprenticeship program working side-by-side with a journeymen sprinkler fitter installing automatic fire protection systems. Your employment relationship will be governed by a collective bargaining agreement. Apprentices willcomplete on-the-job training and 5 years of corresponding coursework toward becoming a Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter. Upon completion of the apprenticeship program, Journeymen earn over double the apprentice hourly rate!
What you need to qualify:
Qualified candidates must be at least 18 years old, have a High School Diploma or equivalent, have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles, be able to travel for the position, and pass an appropriate drug screen and physical (the job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing). Successful candidates must be self-starters, have a strong mechanical background, have a good working and learning attitude, and be able to work in a fast-paced construction environment (both in and outdoors).

Fulfill responsibilities as stated in the DOL Apprenticeship Program and become a skilled Journey person, certified by the DOL, and an A-Class Trades person within 4 years of training.
- Work progressively towards completing 4 years of training; including 6000 hrs on the job learning & a minimum of 576 hrs class room instruction
- Maintain a minimum 70% passing rate
- Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and specs to determine layouts

- Developing the skills to fully install piping systems in marine applications
