**About the Role:**
As a CBRE Health, Safety and Environment Supervisor, you will supervise a team responsible for creating and implementing health, safety, and environmental programs for clients.
This job is part of the Environment Health and Safety function. They are responsible for organizational programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities.

Working under the supervision of a Certified Industrial Hygiene professional, the Technician - HSE will provide industrial hygiene technician support to the company's Plaquemine, LA facility and limited support at facilities located in Geismar, LA and in Aberdeen, MS. As a member of the company's industrial hygiene team, this individual will help apply professional knowledge and experience to recognize and evaluate potential hazards and help implement comprehensive safety and health programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following:

ROLE SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for day-to-day compliance of the Flowserve safety programs and related activities at the Rancho Dominguez, CA Flowserve facility. This will entail ensuring compliance with all established HSE programs and maintaining compliance with OSHA, local, Flowserve, and other industry standards.
The pay range for this role is $105,666 - $132,147 per year, depending on level of experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage Environmental Compliance Program
- Ensure that the Rancho Dominguez operations are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Foster a spirit of working within the intent of these regulations as well as the letter of the regulations. Conduct audits and training programs as needed. Establish a working relationship with appropriate regulatory agency personnel. Generate all needed reports and permit applications (i. e. air, water, waste), ensure compliance with applicable permit requirements, review proposed changes in manufacturing equipment and/or methods to assess environmental impact. Work to reduce waste generation and support any remediation activities under the direction of the Corporate HSE Director and Regional HSE Manager.
Oversee Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention and Health and Safety Programs
- Have managerial oversight of the above programs, including but not limited to LOTO, PPE, etc. Ensure that programs are in place to assist in meeting objectives of the Company health, safety, and environmental philosophy. Ensure training programs and in place to ensure compliance with legal standards. Implement accident, near miss, and observation reporting programs to proactively manage safety performance. Lead the investigation and completed documentation of any safety or process event (root cause analysis); Recommend and implement resolutions. Ensure complete case management of injuries (reporting, workers compensation, return to work, etc.). Ensure Job Safety and Environmental Analyses/Job Hazard Analysis are being conducted as required. Evaluate operational practices to determine methods to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
Direct Employee Workplace Health Activities
- Oversee educational activities, HSE committees, and testing programs as needed. Serve as the Company contact with the consulting Company Physician in forming local policy and implementing same. Review and recommend changes to methods and approach to local work instructions.
Incident Investigation
- Follow Company reporting guidelines following all incidents. When necessary, lead the incident investigation team to determine the root cause and corrective active actions that can prevent reoccurrence and can be applied across the company. Build communications required to present incident details and corrective action plans to diffident levels of the business.
NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:
Assignment, Review, and Approval of Work
- Site specific projects and tasks may be assigned by Supervisor, although some projects may be suggested by Corporate Director, Health Safety, and Environment and/or Regional HSE Manager. Others are self-generated, based on the response to day-to-day business needs in plant operations and to comply with new and existing federal, state and local regulations. All activities are subject to audit by the Corporate Regional HSE Manager.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority
- Can authorize expenditures approved in the budget in conjunction with Company guidelines. Make independent decisions associated with areas of responsibility or as results from tasks assigned. May be required to make decisions spontaneously under emergency conditions.
Relationships with Outside Organizations
- Outside contacts include safety supply vendors, representatives of various regulatory agencies, industrial hygiene consultants, equipment manufacturers representatives, and counterparts at other industries.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge
- This position requires knowledge of the engineering and science disciplines. Also requires a knowledge of the social sciences, (i. e., behavior, motivations, and communications). A fundamental knowledge of statistics, mathematics, physics, and chemistry is required. The ability to apply the principals of measurement and analysis is necessary in order to evaluate safety performance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to interpret standards and regulations to determine the extent to which they apply to Rancho Dominguez operations. A knowledge of the fire protection and prevention sciences is also required. These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelors degree program in engineering or the sciences and/or through related work experience and continuing training/development. A minimum of five to eight years (5-8) experience either directly or indirectly with safety, health and environmental activities in a manufacturing environment. Experience in Root Cause Analysis is required. Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) is a plus.
Organizational Relationships
- There is close coordination with Human Resources, Corporate Director of HSE, Regional HSE Manager, and other HSE professionals within the Corporation.
Major or Unusual Challenges
- The major challenge associated with this position is the reinforcement of correct safety behavior of employees in order to meet HSE objectives, i. e., attempting to deal with the constant dilemma of safety vs production. In addition, the age of equipment and buildings, congestion, and the resultant problems associated with loss prevention must be addressed.
Makes or Breaks
- Must be a self-starter and must aggressively and diplomatically pursue and gain the cooperation of all echelons of management to support environmental, safety and health. Most importantly, the attention of the front-line supervisors is required. Success hinges on the ability to convince employees that Company efforts in these areas are sincere and inspire employee participation. This role should seek to enhance safety and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Works directly with the Project Manager and the management team to develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan, while adhering to all corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes.

Position Summary

- Must have a valid driver license with a good driving record
- Be able to acquire continued training and education and obtain Roadway Worker Protection training and various Site-Specific training's necessary to get onto jobsites
- Possess strong computer skills involving office type software such as spreadsheets, word documents, databases, internet, email, etc.
- Have completed or be able to complete an accredited safety certification (CHST, etc.)

**ROLE SUMMARY:**
This position is responsible for day-to-day compliance of the Flowserve safety programs and related activities at the Rancho Dominguez, CA Flowserve facility. This will entail ensuring compliance with all established HSE programs and maintaining compliance with OSHA, local, Flowserve, and other industry standards.
**The pay range for this role is $105,666 - $132,147 per year, depending on level of experience**
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Manage Environmental Compliance Program
+ Ensure that the Rancho Dominguez operations are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Foster a spirit of working within the intent of these regulations as well as the "letter" of the regulations. Conduct audits and training programs as needed. Establish a working relationship with appropriate regulatory agency personnel. Generate all needed reports and permit applications (i.e. air, water, waste), ensure compliance with applicable permit requirements, review proposed changes in manufacturing equipment and/or methods to assess environmental impact. Work to reduce waste generation and support any remediation activities under the direction of the Corporate HSE Director and Regional HSE Manager.
Oversee Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention and Health and Safety Programs
+ Have managerial oversight of the above programs, including but not limited to LOTO, PPE, etc. Ensure that programs are in place to assist in meeting objectives of the Company health, safety, and environmental philosophy. Ensure training programs and in place to ensure compliance with legal standards. Implement accident, near miss, and observation reporting programs to proactively manage safety performance. Lead the investigation and completed documentation of any safety or process event (root cause analysis); Recommend and implement resolutions. Ensure complete case management of injuries (reporting, workers compensation, return to work, etc.). Ensure Job Safety and Environmental Analyses/Job Hazard Analysis are being conducted as required. Evaluate operational practices to determine methods to eliminate or control workplace hazards.
Direct Employee Workplace Health Activities
+ Oversee educational activities, HSE committees, and testing programs as needed. Serve as the Company contact with the consulting Company Physician in forming local policy and implementing same. Review and recommend changes to methods and approach to local work instructions.
Incident Investigation
+ Follow Company reporting guidelines following all incidents. When necessary, lead the incident investigation team to determine the root cause and corrective active actions that can prevent reoccurrence and can be applied across the company. Build communications required to present incident details and corrective action plans to diffident levels of the business.
**NATURE AND SCOPE OF POSITION:**
Assignment, Review, and Approval of Work
+ Site specific projects and tasks may be assigned by Supervisor, although some projects may be suggested by Corporate Director, Health Safety, and Environment and/or Regional HSE Manager. Others are self-generated, based on the response to day-to-day business needs in plant operations and to comply with new and existing federal, state and local regulations. All activities are subject to audit by the Corporate Regional HSE Manager.
Responsibility and Decision-Making Authority
+ Can authorize expenditures approved in the budget in conjunction with Company guidelines. Make independent decisions associated with areas of responsibility or as results from tasks assigned. May be required to make decisions spontaneously under emergency conditions.
Relationships with Outside Organizations
+ Outside contacts include safety supply vendors, representatives of various regulatory agencies, industrial hygiene consultants, equipment manufacturers' representatives, and counterparts at other industries.
Specialized or Technical Knowledge
+ This position requires knowledge of the engineering and science disciplines. Also requires a knowledge of the social sciences, (i.e., behavior, motivations, and communications). A fundamental knowledge of statistics, mathematics, physics, and chemistry is required. The ability to apply the principals of measurement and analysis is necessary in order to evaluate safety performance. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required, as well as the ability to interpret standards and regulations to determine the extent to which they apply to Rancho Dominguez operations. A knowledge of the fire protection and prevention sciences is also required. These skills are typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program in engineering or the sciences and/or through related work experience and continuing training/development. A minimum of five to eight years (5-8) experience either directly or indirectly with safety, health and environmental activities in a manufacturing environment. Experience in Root Cause Analysis is required. Experience in Continuous Improvement (CI) is a plus.
Organizational Relationships
+ There is close coordination with Human Resources, Corporate Director of HSE, Regional HSE Manager, and other HSE professionals within the Corporation.
Major or Unusual Challenges
+ The major challenge associated with this position is the reinforcement of correct safety behavior of employees in order to meet HSE objectives, i.e., attempting to deal with the constant "dilemma" of "safety vs production". In addition, the age of equipment and buildings, congestion, and the resultant problems associated with loss prevention must be addressed.

+ Must be a self-starter and must aggressively and diplomatically pursue and gain the cooperation of all echelons of management to support environmental, safety and health. Most importantly, the attention of the front-line supervisors is required. **RESPONSIBILITIES**
+ Works directly with the Project Manager and the management team to develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan, while adhering to all corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs and processes.
