In operation since 2007, Safford operations is a zero-discharge facility and one of the most sustainable mines in the United States. The operation's commitment to utilizing advanced technologies and sustainable practices strongly emphasizes safety and environmental stewardship. **Description**
Under general supervision, performs detailed field surveys at assigned site.
+ Performs detailed field surveys and may oversee the activities of field survey crews in performing the survey
+ Maintains accurate notes, records and sketches to describe and certify work performed
+ Updates appropriate conventional and electronic (GIS) files
+ Researches previous survey evidence, maps, physical evidence and other records
+ Recommends methods and procedures for conducting assigned surveys
+ Prepares and presents findings to Engineering and Operational personnel
+ Performs other duties as required
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Advanced training or education in surveying, mapping or a related field, **and** one (1) year of surveying experience relevant to assignment
**Preferred**
+ High School diploma or GED
**Criteria/Conditions**
+ Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety-related instructions and procedures given in English
+ Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards
+ Must be able to work in a potentially stressful environment
+ Work is in a mine or manufacturing plant setting, which may include exposure to extremes in temperature and humidity, moving mechanical parts, risk of electrical shock, toxic chemicals, explosives, fumes or airborne particles
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs and ladders, work on elevated platforms, talk, hear and see
+ Occasionally may be required to lift moderately heavy objects up to (30) pounds during the course of the workday
+ Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel-toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

The estimated pay range for this role is currently **$24.00 - $32.00/hour** . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. The Surveyor in Landscape Construction plays a vital role in the planning and execution of landscaping projects by providing precise measurements, layout, and data collection. This position involves layout and data collection utilizing advanced surveying tools such as GPS and total stations. The Surveyor interprets site plans and engineering drawings in BIM or CAD to ensure design feasibility and collaborates closely with the production team to facilitate the successful implementation of landscape and construction projects.
You'd be responsible for:

+ Interpret Plans and Drawings: Review and analyze site plans, blueprints, and engineering drawings to assess and verify the feasibility of landscape designs.

+ Maintain Accurate Records: Document survey results meticulously, including sketches.

Job Description
Under supervision of Construction Manager, employees will perform a variety of rigorous physical tasks outdoors in all types of weather in support of cleanup of contaminated soils near Neihart, Montana.
Work may include: Constructing haul roads & installing bridges; expanding and capping on-site repository; excavating and hauling contaminated materials from stream channels and/or residential, commercial or private properties and backfilling/restoring properties to existing state.
**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:**
+ Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment
+ Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and legal descriptions of surveys in order to describe, certify, and assume liability for work performed.
+ Verify the accuracy of survey data, including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.
+ Direct or conduct surveys in order to establish legal boundaries for properties, based on legal deeds and titles.
+ Record the results of surveys, including the shape, contour, location, elevation, and dimensions of land or land features.
+ Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, property lines, and other characteristics of terrain.
+ Prepare or supervise preparation of all data, charts, plots, maps, records, and documents related to surveys.
+ Plan and conduct ground surveys designed to establish baselines, elevations, and other geodetic measurements.
+ Search legal records, survey records, and land titles in order to obtain information about property boundaries in areas to be surveyed.
+ Analyzing data using plans, maps, charts, and software such as AutoCAD and GIS programs.

+ Must be a professional land surveyor licensed in the state of Montana
+ Minimum 5 years experience with previous construction and/or environmental project work preferred.

**Land Surveyor**
Our Advanced Geomatics (ADG) team is seeking a Land Services (Intermediate) to provide enterprise-wide support in the areas of land surveying, cadastral mapping, survey control, easement preparation and review, topographic mapping, engineering surveys, and land survey plat and subdivision review. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with the ADG Supervisor and other field survey staff to plan and organize field surveys.
A day in the life of a Land Services (Intermediate) may include:
+ Perform land surveying work from field to finish using all forms of surveying equipment, total station, GNSS, Lidar scanners, and drones
+ Conduct research on easements and property boundaries, prepares legal descriptions and exhibits
+ Create topographic maps and drawings in support of Colorado Springs Utilities' engineering groups
+ Perform drone inspections of Colorado Springs Utilities' infrastructure
+ Maintain equipment and assists as directed
+ Process Lidar and photogrammetry data
+ Assist with dam deformation surveys
+ Review proposed plat and easement from outside sources
+ Enter and edit Landbase data in GIS

**Who You Are:**
