We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position offers flexibility, allowing for either a fully remote work arrangement or a hybrid schedule, with the expectation of occasional visits to our Michigan office to collaborate with team members. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in transmission line engineering and be adept at managing projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
+ Lead the design and coordination of transmission lines ranging from 40kV to 230kV.
+ Apply NESC, ASCE, ACI, and other relevant standards in engineering and design.
+ Design medium and high voltage transmission lines using PLS-CADD.
+ Prepare construction documents, including plan and profile drawings, structure loading trees, and foundation assembly drawings.
+ Develop specifications and project design criteria.
+ Provide field support during construction.
+ Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
+ Provide technical leadership, guidance, and instruction to less experienced staff members.
Essential Skills
+ Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
+ 5-7 years of experience in transmission line engineering.
+ Proficiency in line design.
+ Experience with PLS-CADD and/or PLS Pole.
+ Experience working with 40kV to 230kV transmission lines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ PE license or EIT certification preferred.
+ Experience with GIS.
+ Experience in construction work related to utilities.
+ Master's degree is a plus.
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD, Mathcad, Microstation, and FAD.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $52.88 - $67.30/hr.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** has a position available for a High Voltage Transmission Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility transmission design.
**This position can be based out of any AECOM office located in Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Bloomfield, NJ; Burlington, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Conshohocken, PA.**
**This position is hybrid.**
The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the design of utility scale transmission line development.
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
+ Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
+ Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
+ in developing project schedules and defining technical staff for projects and daily work.
+ Assist in the development of technical staff through mentoring, instructing of technical engineering principles, and governing electrical and safety codes.
+ Instruct and teach the technical staff in the use of computer systems and software, tools and equipment, and company-owned motor vehicles.
+ Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
+ Collaborate with the department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
+ Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
+ Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
+ Experience with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design
+ Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects being worked on by staff.
+ Must be able to effectively supervise a project team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
+ Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
+ Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards
+ Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $110,000.00 - $60,000.00.
