We are seeking a Staff Overhead Transmission Line Engineer to support a growing Transmission & Distribution practice. This role involves leading and performing engineering responsibilities related to high-voltage overhead transmission line design.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and oversee engineering tasks including:
- PLS-CADD modeling
- Line routing and structure analysis
- Sag-tension calculations, wire blowout, swing angle, and damper recommendations
- Structure spotting and clearance reports
- Wire selection and loading tree development
- Prepare construction specifications, hardware/material lists, and cost estimates
- Design structures and hardware for high-voltage overhead transmission lines
- Provide field installation supervision and technical support
- Mentor and guide junior engineers
- Serve as a technical lead and interface with clients
- Conduct quality reviews and ensure compliance with design standards

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited program (required)
- EIT certification or PE license (strongly preferred)

- A master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience
- Proficiency in PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, and related tools (preferred)

One Tech Engineering is searching for a Transmission Engineer for a position located in either Charlotte, North Carolina, or Atlanta, Georgia. The Transmission Engineer manage and perform responsibilities for transmission line design.
The candidate must be a US Citizen or a green card holder, the position is not eligible for sponsorship. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, and at least 3 years of related experience.
Local candidates preferred or open to relocation. This is not a remote position.
Transmission Engineer Responsibilities:
- Perform, lead, and oversee all engineering responsibilities related to overhead transmission line design. Requirements of the Transmission Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from accredited program is required.
- A professional certification, EIT, and/or a professional engineer licensure is strongly desired.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience with routing and design of high voltage overhead transmission line facilities (completion of master's degree in related field may be substituted for one year of experience).
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills is required.
- Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.

**Job Description**
**AECOM** has a position available for a High Voltage Transmission Engineering Lead with a specialization in utility transmission design.
**This position can be based out of any AECOM office located in Dallas, TX; Arlington, VA; Austin, TX; Baltimore, MD; Bloomfield, NJ; Burlington, NJ; Charlotte, NC; Chicago, IL; Cleveland, OH; Conshohocken, PA.**
**This position is hybrid.**
The focus of your experience must be in the power delivery industry and be associated with electrical engineering with respect to the design of utility scale transmission line development.
The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:
+ Lead technical staff in the preparation of utility engineering designs, cost estimates, and customer billing.
+ Manage the engineering aspects of multiple projects ranging from 34.5kV to 500kV.
+ in developing project schedules and defining technical staff for projects and daily work.
+ Assist in the development of technical staff through mentoring, instructing of technical engineering principles, and governing electrical and safety codes.
+ Instruct and teach the technical staff in the use of computer systems and software, tools and equipment, and company-owned motor vehicles.
+ Manage and provide guidance and direction for professional communication with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Coordinate internal/external reviews of designs completed prior to submissions.
+ Collaborate with the department managers to develop, evaluate, and implement new policies and procedures which reflect best engineering practices.
+ Collaborate with other departments and divisions on company-wide initiatives.
+ Maintain great relationships with our existing clients and seek out opportunities with potential future clients.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural or Electrical Engineering and 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
+ Active Professional Engineering (P.E.) licensure.
+ Experience with PLS-CADD, MFAD, AutoCAD
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 5+ years of experience in Power Transmission Design
+ Professional disposition and the ability to be open-minded when it comes to planning and execution of projects being worked on by staff.
+ Must be able to effectively supervise a project team of Engineers & Engineering Technicians while maintaining work product quality, consistency, accuracy, and reliability.
+ Advanced knowledge of overhead & underground Transmission facilities and understanding of its integration into daily activities.
+ Experience with NESC, ASCE, IEEE, and other industry-relevant standards
+ Proficiency in MS Office Software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project)
