**Responsibilities:**
+ Relays information regarding patient care to the Patient Transport supervisor or Nurse on the Unit.
+ Has a thorough knowledge of obtaining, setting up, removing, cleaning, and storing traction equipment. Performs a daily traction inspection. Clean and stores equipment and supplies. Assures that all OR litters have full oxygen tanks.
+ Has a thorough knowledge of obtaining, setting up, removing, and storing equipment (K-pads, flotation mattress, air pressure mattress, etc.).
+ Assists the physician as needed. Assists with the discharge of prisoners, when needed. Assists nurses with helping patients in and out of bed for transport.
+ Removes (specialty) beds from the patient floors when the patients are discharged (two persons required).
+ When assigned as Elevator Operator:Responds to calls from Patient Transport Supervisor who is transporting patients to and from the Operating Room suite to designated nursing units. Operates elevator by key control. Responds to calls from the nursing units and gives prompt attention to emergency calls from surgery, Emergency Department, nursing units, and Radiology for codes and Life Flights. Signs key in and out at Security and/or Patient Transport. Reports need for repair of elevator
+ Assists patients in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort; adheres to established Hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Assists personnel with restraining patients.
+ Reports equipment in need of repair or replacement to Patient Transport Supervisor.
+ When assigned as Clerk Dispatcher:Receives all requests for patient transportation; and, orderly needs and establishes priorities for response to calls within the framework of Nursing Administration policies. Maintains transportation and orderly logs, as indicated and records all problems or delays, reports problems to immediate supervisor and notifies department involved. Coordinates all calls for direct patient care services
Experience Required - None.
**High school graduate or GED preferred**

1. Knowledge of equipment used in Nursing, especially traction and suction.
2. Demonstrate weight test - as set by Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Department.
3. Able to establish and maintain good working relationships both intra and inter-departmentally.

5. Neat and orderly in work and appearance.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Backup Support: Provide backup support for dispatch duties as needed without compromising primary administrative responsibilities.
+ Issue Escalation and Reporting: Proactively identify and escalate issues outside normal operating parameters to Dispatch Supervisors, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing impact on service quality.
+ Cross-Departmental Support: Assist other departments as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a collaborative spirit to ensure overall organizational success.

Qualifications:
+ Experience in dispatch and/or reservations.
+ Strong administrative, organizational, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work closely with, and support both the Dispatch Supervisors and the Dispatcher sin day-to-day operations.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with paratransit operations.
+ Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and written form
+ Ability to work effectively and harmoniously in pressure situations with fellow employees, supervisors, dispatchers, and bus operators to attain the best possible transit service for customers.
+ Knowledge of Trapeze preferred
+ Ability to operate standard office machines including but not limited to copy machine, printers, scanner, computer, telephones.

**General Summary**
Acts as a receptionist for visitors and serves as a central contact for telephone calls and a distribution point for paper and electronic communication, laboratory and test results. **Duties and Responsibilities**

+ Provides general nursing care and personal care assistance to patients, including bathing, dressing, eating, changing bed linens and bed pans and positioning.
+ Assists in the preparation and transportation of patients for tests, procedures, etc.
+ Monitors patient condition levels; reports changes to the appropriate individuals.

+ Maintains par levels of supplies and equipment on assigned unit(s). Notifies supervisor when reorder points are reached.
+ Greets, directs and assists physicians, visitors, patients and ancillary department staff. Orients patients to their rooms as appropriate.
+ Answers telephone using personable etiquette. Answers inquiries by providing accurate information or forwarding callers to appropriate resource. Responds to intercom and email. Identifies emergency messages, directs information to the appropriate personnel. Maintains confidentiality.
+ Enters and/or retrieves data from established computer files using knowledge of various computer applications designed for functions such as patient management, patient census, acuity, composer, bed tracking, transport, etc. Serves as a knowledgeable resource for multiple applications such as, Patient Management and PowerChart. Keeps current with system/application upgrades. Offers/provides assistance to others in navigating IS applications.
+ Performs a variety of duties related to the creation and maintenance of the patient medical record in a manner which expedites patient admission, transfer and discharge. Assembles and copies charts and forms, ensuring charts contain necessary forms. Ensures all medical records have signed orders and an H & P. Places transcribed orders on the chart. Monitors and flags missing items daily. Performs data entry, chart preparation, filing and photocopying in accordance with appropriate policies.
+ Transcribes orders and documents on the paper or electronic record. Places pharmacy orders on the MAR. Follows up on orders and checks on open orders. Ensures verbal orders are signed according to Hospital policy.
+ Consults with appropriate clinical/nonclinical personnel to resolve issues, concerns from patients' medical record, ancillary department results, patient/family inquiries, etc.
+ Schedules tests, procedures and other patient services. Confers with clinical care provider regarding sequencing of tests, patient activity tolerance and special needs, as appropriate.
+ Communicates changes in the patient's condition and other urgent information to the Registered Nurse in a timely manner. Reports actual and potential problems concerning patients, families, staff and appropriate departments to the team members and the charge nurse/nurse manager.
+ Communicates delay/difficulties in providing services or alteration of routine. Acknowledges and responds to patient alarms and notifies appropriate care provider as needed.
+ Orders and stocks supplies on an ongoing basis.

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant provides support for respiratory care services for the treatment of patients with disordered respiratory physiology under the direction of a registered respiratory therapist. Responsible for delivering varied oxygen devices on a timely basis. **Qualifications**
Minimum educational requirement is a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) with at least 3 years of experience in a direct patient care role or active enrollment in, or graduation from, an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. Must be able to learn and perform CPR. Must have good verbal communication skills. Ability to interact with a variety of individuals. Have strong independent problem solving skills to respond to unpredictable situations. Maturity, initiative, commitment to patient and customer service, and good judgment are required. Bowhead Transport Company is seeking a year-round Assistant Port Captain, based in Anchorage, AK, to support the Port Captain in managing vessels operating in the waters of Washington, Canada, and Alaska. This role is responsible for helping ensure safe operations across all Bowhead Transport vessels and providing a range of timely support services as directed by the Port Captain.
**Responsibilities**
Essential functions will include:
+ Ensuring the safety of all Bowhead crew and passengers, including conducting safety training and monitoring and supplying all vessel safety equipment.
+ Scheduling, planning, and overseeing haul-outs, shipyard work, and seasonal repairs and maintenance on all Bowhead Transport vessels, coordinating with vessel crews and Bowhead Transport management.
+ Coordinating the purchase of equipment and operational supplies for all vessels, working with captains, engineers, deckhands, and Bowhead management staff as needed.
+ Providing expeditor services, including driving or flying parts and supplies as requested by the Port Captain.
+ Advertising vessel crew positions and coordinating the onboarding process in collaboration with UIC HR.
+ Assisting the Port Captain in managing vessel crews, including email, phone, and in-person communication.
+ Tracking and managing crew turnovers.
+ Reserving hotels, flights, and ground transportation for crew traveling to or from work.
+ Arranging all services in each port prior to vessel arrival and departure, including vessel moorage, fueling, provisioning, transportation, equipment rental, laydown yard space, and coordination with other company personnel, ensuring all port arrangements and contacts are provided to vessels in advance.
+ Temporarily filling in for vessel crew members in emergencies or when a licensed crew position is vacant (if the Assistant Port Captain holds a USCG license).
+ Traveling as needed to support vessel operations.
+ Assisting vessel crews or land-based staff with loading, lashing, consolidating, and manifesting cargo at port locations when additional help is required.
+ Maintaining Bowhead equipment, both land-based and at sea, including winterizing, repairing or replacing parts, securing storage, and ensuring all equipment is operational and safe.
+ Performing other duties as assigned by the Port Captain or Bowhead management.
**Qualifications**
Minimum Qualifications:
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Current USCG Captain's License, USCG deck license, AB, or OS preferred (additional training and licenses may be considered after hire, depending on applicant qualifications).
+ Local resident of Anchorage, Alaska, or surrounding area preferred.
+ General PC knowledge, including proficiency with spreadsheet software, word processing software, and MS Office Suite.
+ Strong interpersonal skills with a positive "anything is possible" attitude, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment.
+ Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
+ Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, including during physically demanding work, potentially hazardous situations, and unpredictable weather.
