Job Summary:

The Transportation Analyst is the technical expert for the Transportation Management systems used globally and across multiple transportation modes, with specific focus on project management for the Americas region. This person is responsible for ensuring that the technology solutions for the department are operational and meeting the needs of the organization. In this role, one is expected to identify and drive continuous improvement within the department while driving global standards to be used across the various transportation teams.

What You Will Do:

  • Demonstrate project management capabilities by leading complex teams on key and challenging initiatives through successful implementations and post implementations
  • Function as the expert of transportation systems and processes for regions including North America, Brazil, Europe, China, Japan, India, Australia, etc.
  • Ensure that the TM system (and supporting peripheral systems) are functioning effectively and supporting the operations, including TM dock scheduling
  • Function as the technical lead on new client or new project implementations
  • Work closely with the implementation team to ensure that the systems are configured appropriately for the specific customer requirements (with the pre-defined operational standards)
  • Analyze client and operational needs and make recommendations for developing, implementing, and/or improving, transportation services/operations
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline processes, drive standard work, and eliminate waste
  • Map out systems processes and communicate them to end users
  • Troubleshoot and resolve systems issues
  • Initiate and follow through detailed and significantly complex job tasks in a timely manner with minimal instruction or review
  • Establish, train, and support internal users on the various systems

  • Previous project management experience with high impact initiatives
  • Strong knowledge of Blue Yonder TMS, specifically Blue Yonder Dock Scheduling
  • Basic knowledge of upstream material planning systems like MRC
  • Basic knowledge of downstream receiving planning systems like Blue Yonder WMS
  • Basic knowledge of Crystal/Tableau/PowerBI /Similar Reporting Platform

General Statement of Job

This position performs difficult professional work analyzing transportation and traffic operations related issues. Under supervision of the Assistant Traffic Chief, responsibilities include review and comment on engineering and construction plans, site plans, maintenance of traffic (MOT) plans, and supervises the maintenance of traffic operations within the City.   • Possession of a valid State of Florida Class "E" driver's license required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Eight (8) years of transportation operations, planning, and design experience

  • Maintenance of Transportation (MOT) Certification preferred.

  • Received a passing score in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, OR possess a Professional Engineer (PE) license, or certified by the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP)

Additional experience is accepted as a minimum requirement in lieu of the postsecondary degree on the following basis: additional four (4) years in lieu of the bachelor’s degree, and additional two (2) years in lieu of an associate degree.

BENEFITS SUMMARY

Full-Time Non-Bargaining Employees

ANNUAL LEAVE: Shall accrue prior to an employee attaining permanent status in the classified service, and may be used after six (6) months of employment at the sole discretion of the Department Head, but it shall not be paid out upon resignation or termination unless the employee has attained permanent status (one full year). The vesting period for this plan shall be one (1) year from date of hire in the classified service, which coincides with your one-year probationary period.

  • An option to enroll in a Defined Benefit Retirement Plan option is available. There is a ten (10) year vesting period with a multiplier of 2.00% at normal retirement and a mandatory seven and three-quarters (7.75%) percent employee contribution.

  • The two (2) options will be fully explained prior to an irrevocable selection.

Optional: 457 Deferred Compensation Savings Plan is available.

HOLIDAYS: 15 per year: 12 recognized holidays and 3 floating days which are allocated for the fiscal year beginning October 1, to all 8 hour per day employees. Employees hired between October 1 and March 31 shall receive 3 floating holidays. Employees hired between April 1 and September 30 shall receive 1.5 floating holidays. Floating holidays must be used within the fiscal year. Non-task employees working 10-hour days receive 10, 10-hour paid holidays but do not receive floating holidays.

TUITION REIMBURSEMENT: Full-time employees are eligible for tuition reimbursement as outlined in the City’s Tuition Reimbursement Policy which is available in Human Resources and subject to the availability of departmental funds.

MILITARY LEAVE: Members in military reserve units who attend annual training are entitled to paid leave not to exceed 30 days each calendar year.

**Job Responsibilities**
+ Perform business and systems analysis of moderate complexity on the overall product delivery and transaction process
+ Lead the systematic activity of the integrated supply chain inventory levels
+ Identify and recommend process changes in BOMs, cycle counting, inventory reduction, improve on-delivery performance and/or enhance the overall customer service experience for our internal and external customers
+ Track supply chain material usage activities and use independent judgment to proactively analyze needs, cost and impact of solutions and make recommendations to maximize efficiency at minimum expense
+ Communicate and counsel internal and external material concerns, as required, relative to general supply chain policy
+ Provide trouble-shooting and problem resolution as requested
+ Assemble support documentation and file for Annual Inventory procedure with departments and develop reporting tools to store e-files
+ Maintain, make recommendations, and implement changes to BOMs, inventory levels, shelf life rules and enter changes in ERP system

+ Provide all support function activity, including accuracy and timeliness of data processing, reporting, analysis, and all other inquiries
+ Issue material on a daily basis for all raw material processing; identify over-issue and BOM errors
