Position Purpose:

Manages all aspects of the transportation function in a fast-paced, customer-oriented environment, including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, unloading, fleet maintenance, customer/driver relationships, and Department of Transportation (DOT) and Operating Company (OpCo) compliance. Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, monitoring DOT and Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) compliance, managing Transportation Supervisors and monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction. Functions as a team member within the department and organization, as required, and performs any duty assigned to best serve the company.

Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
  • Supervises associates to include, but not limited to: staffing, training, coaching, performance management and problem resolution. May include Supervisor, Transportation and/or staff of drivers to ensure deliveries are made in a safe, efficient and timely manner, maintaining dependability and customer satisfaction
  • Oversees day-to-day administration of delivery function including: managing, monitoring and approving department expenses, calculating driver payroll, reviewing driver trip and expense reports, and identifying and resolving problems. Operates a computer keyboard to enter and access data in automated fleet management system (e.g., Tripmaster and Xata); ensures truck computer system is monitored and maintained.
  • Works closely with Warehouse Manager to ensure the highest level of efficiency within the operation.
  • Responsible for scheduling truck deliveries and routing on a daily basis, including backhauls, and changes routes accordingly to meet customer needs and to maximize route profitability. Responsible for equipment scheduling and maintenance. Analyzes equipment needs (trucks, tractors, trailers) and determines type and number required. Sets up rental of additional vehicles as required and schedules equipment maintenance as necessary.
  • Responsible for DOT compliance, monitoring DOT logs and ensuring drivers comply with DOT regulations.
  • Maintains and updates all relevant information on drivers such as license, DOT medical certification, tickets for moving violations, accidents, and other risk and safety-related data.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualification:

High School Diploma or Equivalent

4-6 Years of Transportation experience including in-depth knowledge of DOT regulations and experience with operations of computerized fleet management systems.

Adopt all Aramark processes and systems, understand performance metrics, data, order and inventory trends; educate teams on key levers to improve margins.
Oversees the management of the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services Department (Housekeeping) and Patient Transportation Department
Ensures the Distribution of supplies, holds shift huddles, scheduling and training. Monitors performance.
Manages floor care, trash removal and biohazardous waste removal, overall cleanliness of the building, and patient room cleaning.
Participates in Environment of Care rounding and ensures that patient satisfaction rounding is conducted by management team. Provides service recovery to drive patient satisfaction and HCAHPS scores.
Conducts quality audits and inspections.
Communicates and builds relationships with other department leaders
Manage and direct the work activities of the Central Transportation Program (safety, metrics, customer service).

**Qualifications**
Requires 3 to 5 years of Environmental Services Management experience

How will you contribute to the team? The Project Director will support the business development and entire project portfolio for the with GDOT. This passionate leader will work closely with the Georgia Sector Manager, GDOT KAM, TPO, other GDOT Division Managers, and the local team to set and implement business strategy and client development along with staff development. B.S. and/or M.S. in Engineering with a concentration in Transportation. 15-20 years of relevant experience in highway, roadway, traffic and/or bridge engineering. P.E. license Experience leading transportation design projects for the Department of Transportation (preferably Georgia), local Georgia municipal clients such as Cobb and Gwinnett County. Relationships with GDOT and local municipalities, Operations experience (led a P&L, division, etc), Contract and Project Management experience, led teams of PMs and engineers. Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills, public speaking, and persuasive ability. Technical design, writing, computer, and communication skills are required. Experience with managing people, project scope, budget and schedule are desirable.
