Job Description
The **Transportation Maintenance Supervisor** will manage the **Transportation Maintenance Department** within a busy, multi-shift retail distribution center to ensure that all equipment meets all safety standards/requirements and is properly maintained without jeopardizing quality or compliance with OSHA, DOT and **Family Dollar** policies. Minimize equipment downtime through utilizing efficient and cost-effective solutions. Oversee day to day operations of the maintenance shop while being actively involved across all shift rotations. Provide supervision and management to maintenance technicians. Responsible for safety of all personnel and shop environment.
Primary Job Duties:
+ Ensure **Family Dollar** , OSHA & DOT compliance is maintained
+ Supervise the timely completion of all daily out-of-service vehicle repairs
+ Maintain sufficient parts inventory to support all equipment repairs performed
+ Inspect all switchers preventative maintenance (PM) logs from the previous day
+ Work with corporate to identify approved parts & tire suppliers
+ Coordinate daily trailer statuses with the yard coordinator to ensure accuracy of yard check
+ Monitor all tractor, switcher units and yard operations to ensure compliance and safety is maintained
+ Investigate accidents and submit completed reports to management
+ Ensure daily shift turnovers are done
+ Complete and review spreadsheets daily, weekly and monthly
+ Monitor and maintain files to include qualifications, training, personnel and for **Family Dollar** owned/leased equipment
+ Conduct weekly meetings with staff
+ Complete tool inventory
+ Interact with vendors
+ Other duties as assigned
Minimum Requirements:
+ HS diploma required; College degree or technical school diploma preferred
+ Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience
+ Must have experience working in a transportation environment
+ Diesel mechanic experience preferred but not required
+ Knowledge of DOT and OSHA compliance policies
+ Self-starter with the desire to work in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi taskon a daily basis
+ Flexibility to adjust schedule according to the needs of the business as necessary

Essential Duties
• Assists residents with loading and unloading from community-approved vehicles.
• Ensures the safe transportation of residents to scheduled appointments or other approved activities, resident outings, etc.
• Maintains the interior and exterior of community vehicles to promote safe and comfortable transport for the residents and project a positive image in the community.

• Must have training and be able to return demonstrate safe clinical based transfer techniques for:

• Serve as a member of the maintenance staff completing tasks in and around the community as needed.
Qualification
Education and/or Experience
Minimum 25 years old and a valid DL for operating community vehicles.
Must be familiar with GPS and local driving area.
No Traffic Crimes in the last 7 years. DUI, DWS, Reckless Driving, No Traffic Felonies Multiple DUI, or DWS, Leaving Scene with Injuries, Assault with Vehicle. Not more than 2 moving violations in 3 years.
Not more than one accident in 3 years.
Pass a drug screen and background check.
General maintenance certifications or licensures beneficial, but not required.

Winter hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; or a snow and ice shift, 12:00 am - 12:00 pm (A shift) or 12:00 pm - 12:00 am (B shift). During snow & ice operations employees are split into an A and B shift and will receive 8-hours of work or more depending on the length of the event. MnDOT District 6 may fill up to 1 Transportation Generalist vacancy at the Dresbach Truck Station in District 6:
Summer hours are Monday - Thursday 6:00 am - 4:30 pm
Winter hours are Monday - Friday, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm; or a snow and ice shift, 12:00 am - 12:00 pm (A shift) or 12:00 pm - 12:00 am (B shift). During snow & ice operations employees are split into an A and B shift and will receive 8-hours of work or more depending on the length of the event. Hours may include overtime or various shifts depending on emergency situations and will include working nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbents must have immediate access to a phone and be able to report to work within one-hour of being called.

Function: Road Surface/Roadway Maintenance
* Perform all activities required for roadside maintenance
