Job Summary and QualificationsThe Cardiac Cath Lab Technician safely performs a variety of technical procedures, utilizing specialized angiographic equipment for diagnosis of cardiovascular and/or peripheral vascular disease entities; as well as for therapeutic intervention to treat disease processes.

What You Will Do In This Role:
• Operates Specialized Equipment /Radiation Safety: Operates specialized radiographic and invasive procedure equipment
• Understands needs and identifies needed supplies appropiately for invasive procedures. Ensures supplies available for procedures.
• Employs radiation protection devices and techniques as required.
• Independently assists physician as scrub person and operates fluoroscopic/specialized equipment safely.
• Understands and practices sterile technique
• Orients new employees as related to special procedure technologist duties
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities
• Fulfills assigned on call obligations.
What Qualifications You Will Need:
*Completion of an accredited and approved Radiology Technologist or Cardiovascular Technologist program.
*Current Registered Radiographer (ARRT), a certification as a Radiology Technician or Cardiovascular Technologist; Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist (RCIS) credential preferred.
*American Red Cross or American Heart Association (BLS OR BCLS, and ALS OR ACLS) Course Completion and Certification.

We are seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Radiology Technologist Lead for our facility to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care. What You Will Do In Your Role:
+ You will be responsible for assisting the R.N. in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the care of the Cath Lab patient.
+ You will be responsible to function in a call-out situation by scrubbing and running the table (x-ray).
+ You will ensure archiving and storage of digital data and maintains proper operation of image review stations.
+ You will perform post processing manipulation of digital data to supply physician with additional clinical data.
+ You will be able to function in a Code Blue situation.
What qualifications you will need:
+ 1 year of experience in the field or in a related area
+ Prior Cath Lab experience preferred
+ Graduate of accredited school of Radiologic Technology required
+ ARRT and Radiology Technologist through the Texas Department of Health or RCIS certification required.
+ Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
+ ACLS certification within 6 months of employment

**Job Summary and Qualifications**
Under the general supervision of the Cath Lab Manager/Designee and the general direction of the medical staff the Cardiac Cath Lab Lead Technician is responsible for professional patient care and related assistance to patients experiencing cardiac intervention upon admission to the department. The Cath Lab Technician Lead utilizes the patient care process in ensuring safe and competent quality patient care. The Cath Lab Lead Technician in the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory supports the medical care of all patient requiring any cardiac or peripheral intervention under the direction of the medical staff pursuant to the mission and objectives of the hospital. This person ensures a safe environment for the patient and others, appropriately communicates with physicians, co-workers, volunteers, other hospital departments and patient family members. The Cath Lab Technician lead acts to provide care in a competent, effective and cost effective manner.
**What you will do in this role:**
+ Identifies and documents patients, family and significant other education needs in collaboration with other disciplines and participates in on-going education.
+ Always acts in the best interests of the patient and their family considering medical problems and treatment precautions. Performs only neurodiagnostic tests that are permitted by the American Society of Electron euro-diagnostic Technologists.
+ Observes all precautions when treating medically compromised patients
+ Quickly and appropriately responds to fire alarms by serving as a member of "fire brigade".
+ Maintains an orderly and safe work area.
+ Demonstrates accuracy in the assessment, evaluation and treatment of the patients upon physician orders
+ Considers patient/family goals, home environment, learning needs and support system during evaluation
+ Determines the patient's mental age, mental state and comprehension level.
+ Provides patient care based upon the patient's condition, needs, medical assessment and evaluation.
+ Explain all test procedures including activation procedures, electrode application method (paste, collodion, etc.) to patient/family or significant other.
+ Interact at a level appropriate to all specific age groups
+ Accommodate patient disabilities or special needs. Determines the need for additional physiological monitors.
+ Documents are unusual or inappropriate behavior, suggestive of seizure of pseudo seizures
**What qualifications you will need:**
+ Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
+ (ARRT-R) Radiography, or (RCIS) Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
+ Vocational School Graduate, or Associate Degree
