**A caregiver in this position works varying days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM. As a PRN (as needed) caregiver, you will be expected to work 1-2 weekend days per month and**
**intermittent weekdays for vacation or LOA coverage as well as for high volume days.**
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
+ Evaluate and treat patients with physical, emotional, cognitive and/or psychosocial deficits which impact their abilities to successfully perform independent living skills.
+ Assess patient's ability to safely and effectively perform independent living skills.
+ Design the appropriate plan of care, including type and frequency of treatment.
+ Implement the treatment plan using appropriate modalities.
+ Document subjective and objective findings of patient progress.
+ Monitor and modify the plan of care as needed.
+ Seek consultation as necessary.
+ Educate the patient and family/caregiver about patient deficits.
+ Plan and/or assist with patient discharge from therapy services and treatment setting.
+ Provide information regarding appropriate selection/use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
+ Oversee the care provided by certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians according to established licensing laws, state regulations and OT practice standards.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ Graduate of an Occupational Therapy Program accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association
+ Current Ohio licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT)
+ Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification for Healthcare Providers
