Our health aides can provide Preventative, Acute, Chronic, and Emergency care within their scope of practice using the Community Health Aide Manual (CHAM) and reporting to a referral Physician at the Kanakanak hospital. They work closely with our case management and assist many other departments that include, but not limited to: Optometry, Audiology, Diabetes, Medical Staff, Dental, and Infant learning to ensure our patients are getting the appropriate and essential care that they need.

Responsibilities

- Interpret and fill drug orders.
- Provide patient information and counseling.
- In the absence of store Pharmacist-In-Charge/Pharmacy Manager, may be required to act as the alternate store leader, responsible for managing ongoing functions of the pharmacy.

- Dispense prescriptions, compound, and prepare I.V. admixtures (if applicable).

- Maintain inventory and records of controlled drugs and other drugs as required by law.
- Supervise pharmacy technicians in routine performance of their duties.
- Provide drug information to professional staff and patients as necessary.

- Attend and participate in programs, committees, meetings, and functions as required by the facility or pharmacy.

Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor's degree, or Pharm. D., from an approved school of pharmac
- Current/Clear INDIANA Pharmacist License
- One-year experience as a practicing pharmacist is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of drugs and their indications, contraindications, dosing, side effects, and proper administration.
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- Knowledge of polices and regulations pertaining to the disbursement of pharmaceutical drugs.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and/or infection control standards.
- Ability to supervise and train assigned staff.

Scope of Role and Responsibilities
Participate in preparation of prescriptions via a highly automated system Verify for completeness and accuracy all new and refill labels and orders including new and refill Braille and Talking Vial orders
Verify for content and accuracy all drug packaging and labeling
Partner with fellow healthcare team members
Ensure compliance with legal requirements within pharmacy
Research medication issues, ensure accurate resolution, and provide guidance to team members and member clients when needed
Other duties as assigned by management

Required Qualifications
