Job Description
The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible fordecontamination, assembly of linen packs, operation of steam, ETO and otherforms of sterilization. The Sterile Processing Technician maintains adequateinventory for assembly of instruments and equipment and performs multiple tasksthat assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsiblefor customer service.
Minimum Requirements:
+ High School Diploma or Equivalent?
+ Certification as required by state regulations or contractspecifications?
+ Certification for sterile processing technicians by theInternational Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management(IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution(CBSPD) may be required
+ Two (2) years of experience in sterile processing required?
+ Current CPR if applicable
+ TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
+ Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
+ Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
+ Must be at least 18 years of age
Shift: Monday to Friday with rotating weekends

We are seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technologists to join our team on a contract basis across multiple states. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring the cleanliness, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment, supporting safe and efficient patient care.
Responsibilities
- Perform decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, and sterilization of surgical instruments and medical equipment.
- Operate and maintain autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and other sterilization equipment per manufacturer guidelines.
- Adhere strictly to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Maintain accurate documentation of sterilization cycles and quality control checks.
- Collaborate with surgical and nursing teams to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments.
- Troubleshoot and report equipment malfunctions promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of recent experience in sterile processing.
- Active BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) or CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician) credential.
- Knowledge of AAMI, AORN, and OSHA standards.
- Ability to work variable shifts, including days and nights.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and teamwork skills.

The Local Travel Certified SPD Technician retrieves, decontaminates, cleans, assembles, processes, sterilizes, stores and distributes medical devices, equipment, procedure trays and supplies used in the care of patients.
Travel Assignments. 13 weeks. Shift and Location will vary.
REQUIRED 2 Years of experience as a Sterile Processing Tech and current SPD Certification
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Retrieves, sorts and decontaminates used materials, instruments, medical devices and equipment from the nursing units, Operating Room, Emergency Department, Delivery Rooms, Nurseries, Outpatient Departments, etc., according to established procedures
- Performs quality checks for cleanliness, sharpness and proper functioning of instruments
- Performs high level disinfection (HLD) on items that cannot be sterilized
- Assembles and wraps items in correct type of packaging material in preparation for sterilization
- Sterilizes wrapped and packaged items by steam or ETO
- Prepares case carts for the Operating Room
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
Standing for up to 4 hours per day, up to 2 hours at a time. Walking for up to 4 hours per day, up to 2 hours at a time. Sitting for up to 2 hours per day, 1 hour at a time. Frequently uses fingers and hands for data entry, assembling instrument trays, picking items for case carts and packaging items. Frequently uses upper extremities to lift up to 50 pounds. Hearing ability sufficient to hear above noise level of operating equipment (sterilizers). Must be able to hear alarms and telephone. Seeing as it relates to general vision, near vision, peripheral vision (must be able to detect defects in instruments, such as nicks, burrs, etc.). Frequently pushing and pulling carts weighing up to 200 pounds.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent required. SPD certification required.
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
2 years of experience as a sterile processing tech required.

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Central Sterile Supply Technician to join our Surgery Department.
