**Director, Project Management**

The Kansas City facility is a Center-of-Excellence for our Biologics Analytical Services business. Our talented team has over 25 years of experience providing analytical services for stand-alone and integrated biologics projects.
The Director, Project Management, will be responsible for providing leadership to the Bioanalytical facility's Project Management team, ensuring all projects are managed effectively and according to client expectations. The Director will be an active member of the Global Project Management team, participating in global objectives and driving the development of the Global Project Management function. As an active member of the site(s) leadership team representing Project Management, participating in site decisions and initiatives and striving to meet revenue, metrics and goals. The Director, Project Management, will promote continuous improvement in all aspects of the job coordination with Sales, Operations, Client Services, EH&S and QA to ensure the highest level of client service.

**The Role**
+ Leads financial solutioning and results when issues or expanded scope are identified considering both current and long-term objectives and relationship.
+ Collaborate with internal program teams to ensure program readiness at the earliest points in the business development process.
+ Delivers on multiple assigned program objectives within agreed upon time, budget, scope, and quality. The ability to balance a variety of programs at a given time. Assume the role of client advocate, manage escalations and ensure all team members act as a client advocate.
+ Effectively support, supervise and monitor performance of Principal Program Mangers, Senior Program Managers, Program Managers, Associate Program Managers and Coordinators in the management of assigned Programs, and ensure adherence to all set Goals and Objectives.
+ Maintains open, collaborative and solution-focused communication with clients. Evaluates feedback to determine and drive appropriate changes in the business.
+ Consistently seeks and promotes innovative solutions or approaches to problem solving, from a technical and functional viewpoint, in a highly flexible and interactive manner as scientific data reveals new information or requirements evolve or change.
+ Works with PM leadership team to evolve current state PM practices to best-in-class program management competencies across the company. Participate in forecasting, revenue and S&OP activities.
+ Routinely takes on leadership role in support of both tactical and strategic PM initiatives and support or lead site/network initiatives. Drive recruitment, retention and development strategies.
+ Is involved in working with Business Development and Marketing to support the winning of new business and liaison with BD in terms of changes in scope of work, and future contract opportunities.
+ Other duties as assigned.
**The Candidate**
+ Bachelor of Science required, preferably in a scientific discipline, Advanced degree (M.S., M.B.A., PhD) is preferred.
+ 8+ years of experience in project management, pharmaceutical industry experience highly preferred. A portion of experience must in a program management capacity with emphasis on external client interactions.
+ Preferring 5 years of Leadership experience and good negotiation, presentation and facilitation skills.
+ In-depth knowledge of the contract development/research, pharmaceutical and biotech industries.
+ Customer related experience and excellent client facing skills - desire to meet and indeed exceed customers' expectations.
+ Demonstrable leadership experience at Catalent (including but not limited to participation in Catalent-sponsored leadership programs such as NGGL, GOLD, LEAD Now, GM Excellence, and GROW) may be considered in place of external experience.

The Transportation PMCL within the TNG is a key role in managing and building a high-performing Project Management Team through effective leadership and teamwork to successfully deliver projects and client service, while maximizing the long-term profitability of the firm.
**We are open to filling this position with a candidate being tied to any of our offices within Transportation North Group region in the states: MN, IA, WI, IL, MI, IN, OH, WV, VA, PA, MD, DE, NJ, NY, CT, MA, RI, VT, NH, ME.**
Primary responsibilities for this role include:
- Supervising a team of Senior Project Managers in the day-to-day operation of transportation projects including: project delivery performance, pricing strategies, risk management, forecasting and budgeting, and performance reporting. This PMCL's portfolio of projects would potentially include work with various DOTs, municipal agencies, turnpikes and transit organizations.
- Providing interpretation of monthly performance figures to support the overall business unit management and to the project managers to resolve project issues and improve project performance.
- Directing and supervising project management staff to provide coaching on timely, effective, and efficient performance of project managers' responsibilities.
- Driving consistent project management practices and procedures in alignment with CDM Smith PM requirements and those of the group.
- Managing transportation design projects to potentially include DOT, turnpike, large municipality, county, and transit agency clients.
- Supporting, inspiring, elevating and rewarding team members.

**Minimum Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Civil, transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline.
- Professional engineering (PE) license.
- 12 years of related experience.
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.
- Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Recent experience managing transportation road, highway, bridge and/or transit design projects, ideally for various clients within our current TNG portfolio.
- Strong Project Management experience including: the development of scope, schedule, and budget, and the subsequent monitoring of cost and schedule.
- Previous experience managing a team of Project Managers.
- Business development skills and experience such as client service and proposal preparation.
- Leadership skills to drive a culture that emphasizes profitability, quality deliverables, and legendary client service.
- Current PM certification (either PMP, CCM or DBIA), or the ability to acquire said certification within 12 months of hire.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

$133,016

$246,043
**Additional Compensation:**
All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
