- Variable/flexible track: Work hours vary depending on students assigned to you; set your own availability; hours are not guaranteed. 10-15 hours/week estimated (up to 30 hours/week). Starting pay $8.00/hour. Senior Tutoring Specialist pay 20.00/hour. (Pay for initial training and other nonrevenue work: 12.00/hour)
- Demonstrable expertise, talent in teaching, and recent experience in the subjects/levels you are applying to instruct
- One or more years of undergraduate coursework completed with demonstrated superior academic ability. At a minimum, a course of study leading to a bachelor's degree must be in progress. Overall educational attainment should be commensurate with the subjects/levels you are applying to instruct.
- Ability to submit official transcripts and/or proof of enrollment in or graduation from an accredited, degree-seeking program at a college or university
- Experience in tutoring, teaching, mentoring, or coaching others

Position Summary
The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) seeks a dedicated Assistant Director for Tutoring & Testing held within its Academic Achievement Center, an integral component of the Division of Student Success. The Assistant Director supports all UNCG students with services including tutoring, academic skills, and testing coordination. The Assistant Director will provide support to undergraduates through tutoring, academic skills sessions, and study strategy workshops. They will also manage the University Proctoring Lab (UPL) and coordinate with faculty, the Office of Accessibility Resources (OARS), and Division leadership to provide academic testing in a secure, clean, and quiet testing environment. This role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the UPL as well as both the physical and online Academic Achievement Center, assisting in staff training, and contributing to program development that aligns with the center's commitment to fostering inclusive and engaging academic support for a diverse student population.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Personal Characteristics
- Knowledge of mathematics concepts and principles ranging from introductory mathematics through differential equations and Linear Algebra, including Geometry and Statistics; teaching practices, methods, and techniques; operation of microcomputers and scientific and graphing calculators; microcomputer applications software appropriate for Mathematics courses.
- Sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of the students who attend Lincoln University.
- Passion for math and working with students.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills and programs.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- A master's degree in mathematics or Applied Mathematics, OR a bachelor's degree in either of the above, AND a master's degree in Statistics, Physics, or Mathematics Education, OR the equivalent is required.
- Familiarity with standard mathematics software packages like Knewton, Connect Math, MATLAB, Mathematica, MyLab Statistics, and MyLab Math, or a strong affinity for learning new software and applications, is strongly desired.
- Any previous management or leadership experience is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Light sedentary office work.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing/walking.
