Position Overview
We are in search of a compassionate and proficient Sonography / Ultrasound Technologist to become a key player within our dedicated imaging team. Utilizing cutting-edge ultrasound technologies, you will perform diagnostic examinations while cultivating collaborative relationships with clinicians and contributing to patient care through precise and timely imaging.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Execute a range of ultrasound procedures, such as abdominal, obstetric, gynecological, vascular, and small parts imaging
- Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during exams by communicating each step with clarity and empathy
- Work closely with radiologists and referring physicians to produce exceptional diagnostic images
- Maintain and operate imaging equipment, promptly addressing any malfunctions
- Document all procedures and maintain up-to-date patient records electronically
- Stay informed on advancements in ultrasound technology and best practice methodologies
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a relevant field
- Preferred completion of a CAAHEP-accredited Sonography program
- Current registration with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or similar credential
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is a plus
- Proficient in sonographic imaging methods and understanding of patient positioning
- Outstanding communication abilities and interpersonal skills

Job Summary
The Ultrasound Technologist, under a Radiologist or physician's supervision, performs ultrasound procedures. They work in ambulatory and hospital settings as requested by a physician or licensed provider. This is for diagnosing disease and injury according to established protocols.
Essential Functions of the Role
Performs high-quality ultrasound procedures according to exam protocol in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
Utilizes AIDET to communicate with patients. Identifies patient service needs. Ensures the correct exam is performed on the correct patient. Establishes rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their family about the test. Assesses the patient's ability to tolerate the exam.
Prepare the patient and area for the procedure. Position the patient, adjust immobilization devices, and move equipment into position. Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Protects patients and team members by following safety, infection-control, drug, and radiation policies, protocols, and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques for invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation. Reports issues to management or the appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures people are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtain, verify, and maintain all relevant documentation. This includes requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status, shielding precautions, consent forms, policies, and procedures.
Imaging team members must follow policies, procedures, and workflows. These include PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, modality worklist integrity, record management, and BioMed services.
Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION OF THE JOB
Performs high quality ultrasound procedures, according to exam protocol, in a timely manner. Maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following established standards and procedures.
Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others. Instructs and communicates with patients and their family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient's ability to tolerate exam.
Prepares patient and area for procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Protects patients and team members by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive multimodality procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
Maintains equipment and work area to meet quality and cleanliness standards. Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department. Assists in maintaining supplies inventory. Ensures individuals are safe to enter the department by screening them according to approved policies and procedures.
Obtains, verifies, and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, policies and procedures, etc.
Imaging team members are expected to adhere to policies, procedures and workflows. These system workflows include, but are not limited to PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, modality worklist integrity, record management, and BioMed services.
Maintains medical imaging records in appropriate system and according to department policies and standards for interpretation in a timely manner.

Able to take call, if required.

Job Summary
The Vascular Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound services for patients. These may include upper/lower arterial and venous Doppler, Carotid duplex Doppler, abdominal Doppler, transcranial Doppler, and segmental pressures. They must know approved clinical protocols for each ultrasound examination. The sonographer must examine the patient’s full clinical history to identify the examination's purpose. They should frame the clinical question the examination aims to answer and expand the examination as needed.
Essential Functions of the Role
Prepare patients for procedures and obtain their clinical history. Include related physical findings and pertinent lab data. Fit the imaging techniques to obtain comprehensive diagnostic data for the interpreting provider.
Perform basic to advanced vascular ultrasound procedures using various equipment and techniques. Provide necessary measurements for accurate, high-quality results.
Identify and define vascular abnormalities. Extend the examination scope as needed. Deviate from standard techniques when necessary. Correlate invasive and noninvasive test results with related anatomy and function.
May assist physicians in procedure rooms and operating rooms. Perform vascular ultrasound studies to aid in complex procedures.
Record statistics and perform daily maintenance of the vascular lab and its equipment, reporting all malfunctions as appropriate.
Work closely with the sonography team to ensure quality processes and protocols are followed. Assist with IAC accreditation activities as delegated. Implement protocols as new technology evolves. Ensure system vascular ultrasound standards are followed.
Act as a resource to other staff, physicians, and students regarding equipment, techniques, procedures, and studies to optimize patient care.
Work closely with other sonographers to ensure adherence to quality processes and protocols.
Key Success Factors
Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic methods, instrumentation, and techniques.
Knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology.
Ability to explain the purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient and answer patients’ questions.
Knowledge of proper infection control, including precautionary procedures.
Knowledge of relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy.
Ability to interact and communicate effectively – both orally and in writing – with healthcare providers, including other sonographers, physicians, and nurses.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Skilled utilization of computers and medical equipment.

EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program or 2 years of work experience above the minimum qualification
