About the Job:

The Underground Miner position will report to the Mine Supervisor. The schedule for this position is 14 days on at the mine site located about 45-miles north of Juneau, accessible only through company transportation, and 14 days off.

Responsibilities:

* Set-up and inspect equipment prior to operation. Thoroughly pre-shift equipment - check all fluids, fuel, engine oil, hydraulic oil etc., tires, steering, brakes etc. for all Mine equipment including; drills, bolters, man-lifts, muckers, haul trucks, and all other applicable mobile equipment.
* Maintain safe working area through effective methods of work area inspections and safe work practices; inspection, mechanical & hand scaling, work area clean-up, etc.
* Work with/or as Blaster (if licensed) to load and blast UG faces.
* Utilize in-house drilling equipment to drill planned and directed shot patterns.
* Ability to operate multiple pieces of powered mining equipment such as rock drills, bolters, loaders, haulers, scalers, pumps, etc. safely and effectively.
* Maintain berms and scale mine workings and high-walls to maintain acceptable ground control throughout mine to ensure safe access.
* Examine materials, or products visually or with hands, in order to ensure conformance to established standards.
* Clear and level benches as required.
* Clean, adjust and maintain equipment, using hand tools if/as needed.
* Uses shovels, cutters, scaling bars, and other hand tools proficiently as part of the mining process
* Ability to identify, maintain and (if applicable) repair minor/general maintenance on underground equipment.
* Perform all other duties as cross-trained and requested.
* Attend meetings as required or directed.

Responsibilities:

The responsibility of the Safety Supervisor is to troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance on all components associated with the longwall.

Duties will include:

* Visually inspect shearer and shields for problems during longwall operation.

What's the role?

The Underground Miner - Experienced Grader Operator reports to the Underground Shift Supervisor, and the primary role is to safely and efficiently operate Graders and perform various mining tasks. Other duties may include Haul Truck, Nipper, Mucking, Powder Crew & Rockpick.

Underground duties and equipment operated may vary from time to time and include:

* Operating Graders in an underground setting

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.

What's the role?

The Underground Miner - Bullgang/Utility Service Crew member reports to the Underground Shift Supervisor, and the primary role is to safely and efficiently operate equipment and perform various mining tasks related to Bullgang/Utility Service Crew. Other duties may include Haul Truck, Nipper, Mucking, Powder Crew & Rockpick.

Underground duties and equipment operated may vary from time to time and include:

* Installation of services (utilities) and ventilation to all development and production headings.
* Installation of various underground infrastructure such as paste walls, paste pipe, vent doors, fan bulkheads etc.
* Hanging of secondary ventilation fans.
* Carry out pre-starts when paste filling of stopes underground.
* Installation of cable bolts.
* Monitoring and controlling paste pours.
* Fabrication of pipe.
* Installation and monitoring of mine dewatering.
* Working as directed to minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity.
* General laboring as required.
* General housekeeping of the work area
* Ensuring that all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe.
* Communicate clearly and effectively on two-way radio.
* Ensure all safety related activities are undertaken in accordance with Company policy and MSHA requirements including Hazard ID's, pre-start checks, pre-start meetings, and incident reporting.
* Assist with fault finding and preventative maintenance.
* Assessing and monitoring of ground conditions.
* Conduct scaling in accordance with site requirements.
* Perform such other duties as directed by the Shift Supervisor

The specifics:

* Two years experience as a miner in an underground setting.
* Basic mechanical knowledge
* Good communication skills, including ability to read and speak English.
* Basic computer literacy.
* Flexibility to adapt to improved procedures and practices.
* Ability to provide leadership and training to new team members (not essential).
* Must have good comprehension of safe operating procedures, safety rules, policies, emergency procedures, and MSHA requirements.
* Must pass a post offer physical and drug test, as well as a background check.

The Details:

Working a 4 week on, 2 weeks off rotating schedule of days and nights, up to 12 hours a day or more at a remote campsite. Extreme conditions, including but not limited to extreme and changing weather conditions, dust, mud, varying levels of noise, varying degrees of light and dark, in and around artificial light and in a confined work area.

Employees are required to stay on site at the company provided camp during the work rotation. Camp facilities provide dining service, games room, exercise & weight room, sauna, and accommodation rooms. Dormitory rooms have a land line phone, great Wi-Fi & cable TV. Cell service is available through Wi-Fi. The Company provides a bus service to and from Fairbanks, Delta Junction and Tok, Alaska.

What's the role?

The entry level Underground Miner reports to the Underground Shift Supervisor, and the primary role is to safely and efficiently operate underground haul trucks and perform various mining tasks including heavy equipment operation and working with the Service Crew on utilities and construction underground. Other duties may include Nipping, Mucking, Powder Crew & Rockpick.

Underground duties and equipment operated may vary from time to time and include:

* Safe and efficient operation of underground haul trucks.
* Transportation of ore and waste to correct designated dump locations.
* Accurate recording of haulage movement.
* Working on service or construction crews.
* Working as directed to minimize equipment down-time and maximize productivity.
* General laboring as required.
* General housekeeping of the work area
* Ensuring that all tools and equipment are serviceable and safe.
* Communicate clearly and effectively on two-way radio.
