Responsibilities

- Perform project take-offs utilizing Planswift, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals using HeavyBid for efficient project estimating and documentation.
- Work with owner, project managers, and superintendents to review bid proposals
- Submit complete bid packages on time that meets all agency/owner requirements.
- Follow up with clients post bid, as needed until project is awarded
- Maintain bids via BuildingConnected, tracking invites, bids submitted, and projects awarded.
- Gather cost and production data from current projects to adjust bid software for future estimates.
- Attend in person events/meetings to further develop relationships with current or potential clients.
Qualifications
- 2-3 years experience in underground utility construction estimating or a related field is essential.
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid is highly desirable.

We are looking to fill multiple positions on this crew requiring varying levels of related knowledge: from general labor to pipe-fitter, to equipment operator. Excavation may be accomplished using backhoe, mini-excavator or by utilizing hand tools. Knowledge of piping and associated fittings and water meters is essential.

**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
+ Acquire plans, specifications, soil reports, historical bid files, and historical job cost information necessary to perform a detailed estimate. Coordinate quantity takeoff with the takeoff engineers. Coordinate and mentor the assigned engineers to ensure takeoff is performed correctly and efficiently.
+ Travel to jobsite and pre-bid meetings as required.
+ Have a thorough understanding of the plans and specifications including pertinent or unusual project specific requirements.
+ Solicit subcontractor and material quotes as required and maintain documentation for all good faith efforts as required.
+ Contribute to the overall preliminary schedule to determine the length of time necessary for pricing of general conditions.
