UVA Health Surgical Care Riverside is seeking a full time Anesthesiologist to provide care at their location. This provider may also provide care at additional UVA health system locations as needed.

  • Works in conjunction with the medical director, administrative management, office manager and nursing staff to facilitate patient management through the health care system.

  • Exercises independent judgment in the assessment, diagnosing and initiation of medical processes or procedures commensurate with training and experience and as credentialed by the UVA Health System and UVA Health Surgical Care Riverside and other Health System locations as needed.

  • Performs and legibly documents comprehensive health histories and physical assessments on assigned patients and episodic evaluation on others, to include initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as needed.

  • Requests consultation and initiates referrals to other physicians, including specialists and other healthcare providers when and if needed.

  • Evaluates and analyzes patient responses to the disease process or therapeutic or diagnostic interventions.

  • Provides information and support to patients and families regarding disease process and treatment plan, thus facilitating communication between patients/families and healthcare team.

  • Participates in on-call responsibilities

  • Educates patient and families regarding planned diagnostic procedures, medications, and treatments.

  • Manages patients in accordance with established UVA Health System, UVA Health Surgical Care Riverside and other Health System locations policies and procedures.

  • Examines systems and processes in populations and recommends, develops, implements and evaluates strategies for improvement.

  • Promotes timely and compassionate communication between families and health care team.

  • Report in a timely manner births, deaths, outbreaks of contagious diseases and other information critical to the patient's and/or the public's health as required by legal or governmental authorities.

  • Meets quality standards as determined by the Chair of the Department, Medical Director and/or UVA Health System, UVA Health Surgical Care Riverside and other Health System locations.

  • May serve on selected committees of nursing, medical and administrative staff as needed.

  • May participate in the clinical experience of medical students, interns, residents, and graduate nurses as appropriate.

  • Participates in group peer and other review activities.

  • Prepare and attend to all reports, claims, and correspondence necessary or appropriate to the performance of the professional services.

  • Promote the professional practice of the group.

  • Participates in activities that contribute to the education of other health care professionals.

Education:

The Manager of Financial Reporting is responsible for the annual financial report prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) guidelines, as well as, the Medical Center statement consolidation with the University of Virginia. In addition, the Manager of Financial Reporting will serve as the key subject matter expert on technical accounting issues and analysis and interface with the external auditors on a regular basis. This role also supports the academic medical center's mission by ensuring compliance with regulatory and reporting standards, managing month-end and year-end close processes, managing audit processes, and maintaining strong internal controls. As this is a supervisory role, will be responsible for providing staff direction, training and performance management to ensure a high level of accuracy, timeliness and professional development.
- Ability to work independently with a high degree of reliability, accuracy, and productivity while meeting critical deadlines
- Must be able to utilize PeopleSoft, Anaplan, and other complex financial and information technology tools adopted by UVA Health for the preparation of all financial reports
- Requires expertise as a functional user and strong working knowledge of the technical aspects of reporting and analytic tools, primarily PeopleSoft
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP combined with the ability to research and propose company positions on complex accounting issues, in order to align documentation to ensure business processes and policies are addressed

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in corporate and foundation relations within a complex healthcare environment, strong leadership and mentorship skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments.

Minimum Qualifications:





  • Education: Bachelors degree.






  • Experience: eight years of fundraising experience, including several years in corporate and/or foundation relations.



Preferred Qualifications:





  • Education: An advanced degree in business, public health, biomedical sciences, or related field is preferred.






  • Experience: 10 years experience in corporate fundraising, business development, or partnership management, ideally within a healthcare, academic medicine, or life sciences setting.






  • Demonstrated success managing external partnerships and cultivating complex, multi-stakeholder relationships.






  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to translate technical and academic content for diverse audiences.






  • Collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate a large, decentralized academic and clinical institution.






  • Experience working with faculty, clinicians, senior administrators, and external executives preferred.






  • Familiarity with higher education advancement, corporate philanthropy, and/or industry-sponsored research is a plus.

Certified Orthotist and Prosthetists are specifically educated and trained to manage comprehensive orthotic and prosthetic patient care. They assess patients, formulate and implement treatment plans, and conduct follow-up sessions with their devices and plans. Certified Orthotist and Prosthetists work independently and provide their services to patients without supervision.
+ Assess the patient's functional status, including muscle development, gait, sensory function, range of motion, joint stability, and skin integrity.
+ Develop a plan that addresses the patient's needs and goals, including pain reduction, comfort, stability, mobility, as well as aesthetics.
+ Select the appropriate design, materials, and components for optimum strength, durability, and function.
+ Discuss the treatment plan, including benefits, risks, and time involved.
+ Prepare the patient for the device, with the use of splints or compression garments, as needed.
+ Take measurements, make impressions, and develop templates as needed to accurately fit the device.
+ Fabricate or assemble the device, and assess and properly align for maximum function and comfort.
+ Instruct and explain to patients how to use and maintain the devices.
+ Provide ongoing care, including evaluation and modification of the device for optimal fit and function.
+ You will be responsible for the oversight of techs, assistants and fitters you directly work with.

An Occupational Therapist 2 consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of complex patients, which includes the adult population and may include pediatric patients. In doing so the Therapist acts as a role model and supervisor for junior staff and helps identify patients who have unmet occupational therapy needs.
