Overview: The hired candidate will help build the foundation of the collision repair manual, a key guidance document to be used across U.S. collision repair centers in vehicle manufacturing. This manual will standardize procedures to ensure consistency and promote safety.
Day-to-Day Tasks
Utilize Catia 3Dx to develop repair outlines
Collaborate on outlines with various engineering teams
Physically perform and document repairs for validation
Develop collision repair guides and position statements that will form the foundation of the Collision Repair Service Manual
Support the build out and management of collision repair R&D space, tooling, and equipment.
Occasional travel throughout the bay and US to document collision repair damage, remotely collaborate with engineering teams, develop exacting repair plans, and perform or guide completion of those repairs in the field.

Technical & Soft Skills
Must-Haves
Minimum 4-6 years of hands-on technician experience in the collision industry with OEM Structural Repair Certifications from instructor-led training from Tesla, Jaguar, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, etc.
Ability to explain and demonstrate best practices for all areas of collision repair methodology (cosmetic & structural) pertaining to Sheet Molded Compound, Aluminum, Steel, and Plastics.
Proficiency in computer skills and rapid assimilation of new systems are essential. Nice-to-Haves
Experience using Catia 3dx to develop OEM procedures, in addition to then performing, validating, and documenting those procedures.
Experience collaborating with Vehicle and subsystem and Materials engineering teams to develop and drive testing for repair methods.

- As this position requires driving Penske and customer vehicles, it is regulated by the DOT and requires a current driver qualification file to be maintained as required by the role. The driver qualification file includes: an annual motor vehicle records (MVR) check, a successfully completed DOT Physical, and Safety Performance History records request from prior employers in the last 3 years. Additionally, CDL holders will have a DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and subject to a FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
- Willingness to travel as necessary, work the required schedule, work at the specific location required, complete Penske employment application, submit to a background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required.
This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required. Associates must have the ability to accept responsibility for their own safety, as well as the safety of others.

As a Penske Collision Repair Appraiser at our Woodland branch you are responsible for writing collision repair estimates.
**Major Responsibilities:**
-Superior customer relation skills
-Strong communication and people management skills
-Working knowledge of body shop maintenance operations.
-Completing repair estimates in Adjustrite system-downloading into Summit.
-Communicate with both internal and external customers.
-Other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor
**Qualifications:**
-At least 3 years of body shop estimating experience required
-Estimator Certification required
-High School Diploma or equivalent required
-Vocational/technical school preferred
-Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook required
-Strong written/oral communication, problem solving, and decision making skills are required
