Animal Dermatology Group (ADG) is the largest veterinary dermatology business in the U.S., providing the highest quality of specialty care to pets with acute and chronic skin conditions. ADG has over 40 locations nationwide. With over 100 doctors supporting the ADG medical team, they strive to lead in clinical practice, research and education in our field. In additional to providing advanced, dermatology specialized care to patients and supporting general practice veterinarians in our geographic service areas, ADG participates in drug/product development and clinical trials. ADG also has the largest dermatology residency program approved by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology to support the training of the next generation of dermatologists.
We are seeking a Practice Supervisor to lead our dedicated team. The Practice Supervisor will play a critical role in overseeing administrative and leadership activities, as well as contributing to the day-to-day operations of the practice. This position will involve approximately 40% focus on administrative and leadership responsibilities and a 60% commitment to direct support of patients and clients.
Requirements
Staff Management:
- Supervise the technician and front desk staff.
- Provide technician and receptionist scheduling, training, and development.
- Conduct all aspects of staff management, including hiring, performance evaluations, salary reviews, and disciplinary actions.
- Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.
- Collaborate with all stakeholders to streamline the patient admitting, clinical workflow and discharging processes.
- Assist technical staff in various aspects of patient care, including nursing care, anesthesia, skin tests, surgery, laboratory work, and pharmacy procedures.
- Work closely with the stakeholders to maintain complete and accurate patient medical and surgical records.
- Support the clinic by filling in as needed (up to 60% of the time).
- Uphold excellent customer service and client relations within the practice.
- Ensure prompt processing of referral letters and other clinic communications.
- Oversee appointment scheduling, ensuring accurate service type bookings and inclusion of all necessary information.
- Collaborate with Doctors and Regional Operations Managers to resolve client complaints.
- Ensure all records are up to date, including client records, anesthesia, and controlled substance logs, laboratory reports, and more.
- Establish and enforce a system for chart retrieval, skin test authorization forms, laboratory procedures, surgery records, euthanasia documentation, callbacks, client cards, and filing, ensuring staff compliance.
- Monitor key costs, including Cost of Goods, labor, and expenses, as well as revenue opportunities to keep the practice within budget.
- Review daily charges to ensure accurate capture of all fees.
- Partner with Regional leadership to understand income statements and financial data and execute prescribed financial management initiatives.
- Collaborate with Regional Leadership to develop and implement marketing strategies and opportunities within the RDVM community.
- Ensure that clinic staff effectively utilize marketing tools and materials and apply authorized discounts.
- Maintain the cleanliness and upkeep of the clinic, coordinating cleaning schedules with the Technician Lead and front desk staff.
- Work with Operations to address any building or facility concerns promptly.
- Adhere to prescribed maintenance schedules for all machines and equipment within the hospital.

About the Role
As Veterinary Technician Supervisor, your responsibilities will include:

Directing work flow on the floor

Work cohesively with hospital management and supervisory teams to aid in the progression of the hospital

Help with the interview process for potential new hires and onboard all new associates

Assists in the educational development of technicians and their skills
