The Senior Infrastructure Engineer has a mid-level understanding of many components of the IT infrastructure and appreciates how the component pieces work together to enable end user applications and support services. Responsibilities

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Mentoring and training of junior team members
  • Serves as an escalation point for Infrastructure Engineers
  • Conducts current state analysis of systems and procedures and recommends system design or modifications to achieve desired goals
  • Assists with roadmap planning of production infrastructure keeping versions current and supported
  • Implements and maintains enterprise standards for applications and infrastructure
  • Installs and configures systems according to design specifications
  • Assists with analysis, troubleshooting, repairing and performance tuning of complex systems and hardware components
  • Supports the ITIL Service Transition process ensuring new and modified services are appropriately documented, including as-built documentation, and Operations personnel (Service Desk and L2 Operations) are informed and trained
  • Supports testing and evaluation of technologies under review
  • Actively monitors the environment and appropriately assigns problem tickets, incidents, and schedules reviews to determine support needs for existing and new systems
  • Provides technical support and 24X7 incident response
  • Completes root cause analysis on failures resulting in downtime or performance outside of service level agreement tolerances
  • Assists with the development and ongoing support of annual infrastructure performance and capacity reports
  • Effectively communicates with business professionals, application owners, and customers in plain English while keeping their needs and the needs of IT in mind
  • The Infrastructure Engineer reports to a Manager of Information Technology Services. Additionally, the Senior Infrastructure Engineer is accountable for responding to training and direction from Lead Engineers, Architects, the Project and Service Management Offices.
  • This position may have additional or varied physical demand and/or respiratory fit test requirements. Please consult the Physical Demands Project SharePoint site or contact Risk Management/Employee Health for additional information. May be required to walk or drive to and from various INTEGRIS Health facilities. Required working at computer terminal for long periods of time. Qualifications
  • 4 years of relevant experience or bachelor's degree in related field required
  • Previous work experience with demonstrable experience supporting multiple Infrastructure disciplines
  • Works with the business units to assist with the application of technology
  • Intermediate level certification (ex. Include: RHCSA, CCNA, MCSA, VCP, VCAP, VCDX, CWNA, EMCSA, ACIS, CCP) or intermediate level storage certification preferred.
  • 4 years' experience can substitute certification requirement
  • ITIL certification within 6 months of employment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (Verbal/Written)
  • Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license
  • Must have experience in mid to large enterprise environment
  • Working knowledge of Storage Area Networks and Fiber Channel Switch Infrastructure

The likely salary range for this position is $97,750 - $132,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Venatore has an immediate opening for a Virtualization / VMware Administrator supporting the CITS contract for USCENTCOM. The position is based in Tampa, Florida.

The Virtualization / VMware Administrator will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our organization's virtual infrastructure, focusing on VMware technologies. This role will involve managing virtual machines for servers, desktops, and networking components critical to the operations of our enterprise environment.

Duties and Responsibilities: We are seeking a highly skilled Virtualization / VMware Administrator with demonstrated experience in designing, deploying, and managing VMware environments. The Administrator will be responsible for:

  • Deploying and maintaining VMware ESXi hosts, vCenter Server, and virtual machines across multiple physical sites.
  • Performing regular maintenance, updates, and patches to ensure the security and reliability of the virtual infrastructure.
  • Monitoring and optimizing virtual infrastructure performance, resource utilization, and system availability.
  • Implementing and managing VMware networking components such as distributed switches and VLANs.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to VMware virtualization technologies, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and virtual machine management.
  • Collaborating with other IT teams to design and implement infrastructure solutions that integrate with virtualization technologies and align with command requirements.
  • Providing mentorship and guidance to junior administrators and team members to foster a deeper understanding of virtualization technologies and their role within our infrastructure.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Implementing backup and disaster recovery solutions for virtual machines and infrastructure components.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation related to virtualization architecture, processes, and procedures.
  • Evaluating and recommending new VMware technologies and solutions to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Supporting projects to enhance the security, efficiency, or capability of the virtualized environment.
  • Collaborating with vendors and third-party providers for troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Ensuring compliance with security policies, regulations, and best practices related to virtualization technologies.
Education and/or Certifications: Required:
  • Applicable DoD 8140 or DoD 8570 Certification
Desired:
  • VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP)
  • ITIL 4 Foundation Certification
Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated proficiency in managing and troubleshooting VMware vSphere infrastructure.

SAIC is seeking a Virtualization Systems Administrator to perform admin level support in accordance with the SIE OPORD. Systems Administrators must possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government's systems' hardware and software. The position requirements vary depending on system complexity, the types of operating and network systems being supported, and the size of the organization. A background in the specific types of hardware and software systems used by the Government is required. Systems Administrators monitor and control one or more mid-range application servers. This position studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup and operations. Systems Administrators continuously observes the operation of assigned applications and storage devices to monitor system operation and determines the point of hardware or software failure. This position manipulates systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction. Systems Administrators confer with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel if errors require a change of instructions or sequences of operations. Systems Administrators maintain operating records such as machine performance and production reports.

Typical duties include:

  • Installing operating system software, patches, and upgrades

  • Analyzing, troubleshooting, and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues

  • Virtual network setup and troubleshooting using CISCO ACI and Infoblox

  • Configuring, optimizing, fine-tuning, and monitoring operating system software and hardware

  • Performing system backups and recovery using snapshots

  • Conducting server builds from template, OVA, and ISO files.

  • Provide Systems Administrator support to systems hosting complex operational databases, software configuration control, and system interfaces for computer systems

  • Maintains file servers, network access; documents, analyzes, and troubleshoots systems anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance

  • Provide basic support of Identity Management roles, policies, hardware, software maintain AD/GAL and Infoblox synchronization

  • Directory Services support, including DNS, GPO, Domains and Trust, Sites and Services and Role Based Access Control

  • Support Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) roles, policies, hardware, software, and procedures needed to create, manage, distribute, use, store and revoke digital certificates and manage public-key encryption.

  • Troubleshoot and manage storage related issues on NetApp and Nutanix volume groups.

  • Install, manage, and troubleshoot vSphere, CISCO, and Nutanix systems (physical and virtual)

  • All vSphere components to include ARIA, vCenter, ESXi, and vSAN.

  • Manage Hyper-converged units running Nutanix acropolis operating systems and AHV hypervisor.

  • Configure, patch, and utilize out of band managements including Dell iDRAC, HP iLO, and CISCO CIMC (integrated controller)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree & 2 years of experience; OR 6+ years of experience in lieu of formal degree

  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience as a Systems Administrator or 6 years supporting complex server hardware and software support

  • 4-8 years of intensive and progressive experience in virtualization technologies

  • Nutanix and/or VMware Horizon View systems implementation and support experience

  • Experience with Nutanix AOX, VMware vSphere ESXi, Microsoft Windows 7/10, Active Directory, Windows PowerShell, and resolving VDI-related issues

Certification Requirements:

  • DoDD 8570.01-M IAT II *

One or more of the following certifications is also desired:

  • Nutanix Certified Professional OR

  • VMware Certified Associate (VCA) OR
