Job Description:

USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environments.

Data Visualization: Assists staff, command personnel, and SCITLS task personnel to transform complex datasets into clear, actionable visual formats that support decision-making and strategic planning. Consults with other Service Centers to develop dashboards, charts, and interactive visual tools that present data trends, patterns, and insights in an intuitive and user-friendly way using unified USSTRATCOM visualization elements. Using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Python libraries, ensures visualizations are accurate, dynamic, and tailored to stakeholder needs. Collaborates with analysts, engineers, and decision-makers to understand requirements and refine outputs, ensuring clarity and impact. Bridges the gap between raw data and actionable insights, enabling organizations to make informed decisions quickly and effectively.

The likely salary range for this position is $76,500 - $103,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.

Essential Qualifications:

• At least 2 years of experience with SQL and SSIS development.

• Minimum 2 years creating SQL objects such as Tables, Stored Procedures, Functions, and Views.

• Minimum 2 years developing and deploying SSIS Packages.

• Minimum 2 years as a BI/DW professional or Qlik Sense Developer.

• Minimum of 2 years related to Qlik Sense development, including complex dashboards and data modeling.

• At least 2 years in front-end development with best practices for visualizations.

• A proven ability to make complex data understandable and actionable for leaders.

The Data Visualization Engineer 2 builds user interfaces, visualizations, and data algorithms. Takes complex data and making it more accessible, understandable and usable for leaders to derive insights and ultimately enable them to make the better business decisions. The Data Visualization Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Data Visualization Engineer may work with stakeholders to perform data analytics and write software. Assists in the development of our cloud-based analytics platform. Builds interactive visualizations and front-end software applications for stakeholder engagement. Can perform analytics based on stakeholder needs. • Develop, interpret, and prepare recommendations regarding dashboard, procedures, and the organization’s data assessment, using commercially available data analysis tools and data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, Excel, and Minitab.
• Experience working with commercially available data analysis tools and data visualization tools, including Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, and SAS.
• Solid understanding of the role of IT infrastructure, information systems, and data architecture in supporting data science and data management programs.

• Design and develop dynamic dashboards/reports and interactive visualizations using various reporting components from multiple data sources.
• Develop and design presentations, reports, and other deliverables to summarize findings for key stakeholders and executive leadership, communicating with both technical and non-technical team members.
• Familiarity with other related government-wide data activities and implementation best practices.
• Attend meetings, provide stakeholder input as needed, and communicate the status of changes to team members and leadership.

• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Data Visualization Specialist.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in computer science, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or Graphic Design is required.
• A Tableau Certified Data Analyst certificate or a Power BI Data Analyst certificate is required.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Must have previous experience as a contractor with or an employee of the federal government.
