  • Provide configuration management addressing risk/findings maintaining compliance with NASA's IT Security Policies.
  • Provide client machine support for engineering software installations, configuration, patching and troubleshooting
  • Provide support in response to short-term IT asset requirements such as summer intern hardware and/or software requirements
  • Support unique project and mission specific needs

Experience, Skills, and Abilities:

  • 5 years working experience as a Systems Administrator.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or similar relevant STEM degree; Years of experience can potentially replace degree requirement.
  • Understanding of basic Cybersecurity requirements.
  • RedHat, UBUNTU system administration
  • Windows server and client system administration
  • Familiarity with OpenStack, VMWare and SAN management
  • Familiarity with Atlassian Suite including Confluence and JIRA
  • Knowledge in Shell, Perl, and/or Python scripting
  • Solid knowledge of protocols such as DNS, HTTP, LDAP, SMTP and SNMP
  • Software languages - Knowledge of shell scripting, C++, Java.
  • Firm Knowledge of Excel, Adobe, Visio, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook
  • Cybersecurity, RSA Archer (RISCS)
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills
  • Onsite 5 days per week

Additional Desired Experience

  • Additional Linux certifications (RHCT, RHCE and LPIC) will be considered an advantage
  • One or more of the following Certifications
    • MCSE(Microsoft Computer Solution Expert)
    • Security +
    • Sys Admin Certificate
    • Linux+
  • Windchill
  • Satellite Toolkit (STK)
  • Experience with managing and maintaining Clound infrastructure
  • Experience with NASA Procedural Requirements (NPRs) and Policies
  • Mission Control experience is a plus
  • Working knowledge and experience in Machine Learning / Artifical Intelligence a bonus

Job Title: System Administrator

Hours : Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. or as agreed upon, Saturday rotation from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and On Call support based on business needs.

Salary Range : $16,900 - 167,900 which is base pay. Compensation will be based on candidate qualifications.

Job Scope/Duties

  • Supports and contributes to the secure and effective provisioning, installation, configuration,
    operation, and maintenance of critical Information Systems infrastructure.
  • Essential activities include systems and software support, system maintenance, problem management, writing and maintaining technical documentation and participating in department and organization level projects.
  • Deliver Service Desk support and assist with tasks in addition to assigned duties. Monitors and tracks issues in Service Desk ticketing platform as required.
  • Assists with escalations from other team members and provides mentoring to less
    experienced team members.
  • Requires a minimum of 6-8 years of experience and training in computer technology as well as providing internal and/or external customer technical support and service.
  • Hands on networking experience required including ACLs, routing and switching, NAC, SD-WAN, 802.1x, firewall management, IPSEC and remote access VPNs, and security tools.
  • Technology specific experience and certifications related to Cloud, Virtualization, Networking, Security, (e .g. Azure, Cisco, Microsoft, Nutanix, VMWare, Zscaler, etc.) is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in the field of technology is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
    including being professional, approachable and maintaining a positive demeanor.
  • Must be able to master new computer technology and to identify, troubleshoot and resolve a wide range of technical computer and software related problems.
  • Must be well organized with the ability to work well collectively and autonomously in a fast-paced environment handling multiple tasks and priorities
