Job Summary:
The RN performs under the Nursing Supervisor/Patient Care Coordinator and is accountable to the Patient Care Coordinator. The RN demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to plan provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served; also demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status, and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed.
Performance Expectations:
- Properly utilize the equipment you are assigned including but not limited to telemetry monitors, wound vac, IV infusion pumps, glucose monitors, telehealth, and defibrillator.
- Move equipment and patients utilizing safety measures for both yourself and/or the patient.
- Complete thorough physical assessment of patients and report any identified decline in change of status to the supervisor and provider on duty
- Complete accurate use of a central line and the care, IV insertion/care and blood transfusions.
- Always respect and maintain confidentiality and dignity of the patient by utilizing the We C.A.R.E philosophy.
- Communicate and interact with care providers and team members, patients/families and visitors utilizing the We C.A.R.E philosophy.
- Provide patient care with excellent professionalism.
- Safely maintain the sterile field as needed.
- Identify patient’s medications, removes them from omnicell accurately, and completes barcode scanning and medication administration accurately.
- Verify patient orders and perform said orders.
- Accurately enter provider generated orders in the Electronic Health Record.
- Monitor supply levels and order supplies accordingly.
- Collect, label, and deliver specimens to Lab in a timely manner.
- Prioritize workload while completing multi-task.
- Utilize the EMR for the provision of patient care.
- Educate the patient and family on diagnosis, care being provided, and medications.
- Supervise and delegate patient care task to team members including nurse aid, volunteers, and ancillary department staff.
- Complete walking rounds with oncoming shift and include the patient and family in report.
- Accurately complete all documentation requirements on admission, shift, transfer, or discharge. This includes patient types of inpatient, short stay, outpatient, and swing bed.
- Reports to work when notified of an emergency operation need
- Completes annual competency fair and evaluations
- Communicates and works well with physician on duty and all team members.
- Maintains Isolation procedure while indicated according to policy
- Compliance 100% with handwashing.
- Maintains clean and neat work space, Workstations on Wheels, and Patient Rooms
- Reviews Quality Indicators monthly and strives to exceed goals
- Checks email at beginning and end of each shift.
- Completes all assigned healthstream modules prior to assigned deadline
- Attends and completes Annual Competency Training Course
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
Graduate of a recognized non-online RN program required.
Work Experience:
One year medical/surgical nursing care preferred, but not required.
Certification/Licensure-DUE UPON HIRE

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Computerized Tomography (CT) Technologist is responsible for providing radiographic care for the purpose of diagnostic and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Qualified individuals must have the ability (with or without reasonable accommodation) to perform the following duties:

Performs all routine diagnostic radiographic CT procedures through proper patient positioning and technique selection, in accordance with established LG protocols, policies and procedures.

Receives requests, checking for special instructions from the requesting physicians. Consults with Radiologists as necessary.

Greets patients--confirming their identifications performing the correct procedures as directed and completely explaining the procedure to patient and family as directed.

Operates and enters information through the hospital computer system. Documents required information and patient history in the electronic medical record. Documents other information as required.

Completes examination, consultation, and billing procedures as required.

Accurately and appropriately utilizes all computer related equipment, such as the electronic health record, email and the intranet.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Graduate of an AMA-approved Radiological Technology, Nuclear Medicine or Radiation Therapy School.

Certification in Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, or Radiation Therapy must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

CT Technologist must obtain CT Certification within 18 months of hire.
-
CPR certification is required within 30 days of hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) years of advanced imaging experience.

+ Schedules patient procedures in accordance with the operating physician's, surgical assistants, and or other specialists' schedules.
+ Obtains necessary pre-authorizations for all procedures.
+ Assists in the preparation of procedure orders.
+ Ensures that all patient consents are available in the chart prior to the day of the procedure.
+ Reviews pre procedure checklist to verify all required tests are completed prior to the procedure.
+ Maintains knowledge of the various procedures performed and associated medical coding in order to accurately schedule procedure with associated equipment and supply needs.
+ Coordinates all procedure-related appointments for the patient i.e. pre-op teaching classes, post-op appointments, pre-op testing, and any additional follow up.
+ Assists in providing patients with pre-procedure instructions i.e. time to arrive, food and drink intake instructions, etc .
+ Communicates any changes or cancellations in scheduled procedure times to patients and affected providers facilities. Responsible for rescheduling procedures as necessary.
+ Assists with the coordination of physicians' procedure, the office, and meeting schedules as needed.

+ Three 3 or more years experience working in the medical field medical office setting.
+ Strong computer skills including Excel and Wo rd .
+ Strong communication skills.

+ Three 3 or more prior years' experience working in a surgical office or as a surgical scheduler.
+ Prior pre-authorization experience.
+ Bi-lingual Spanish .
+ Insurance pre-certification experience.
+ Knowledge of CPT codes and ICD codes and their use.
