Overview

Under general supervision, is responsible for picking, packing and shipping of all inbound and outbound shipments along with the duties associated with shipment preparation. The incumbent prepares bills of lading for freight carriers, assists in loading trucks and obtains signatures on shipments. Responsible for counting & recording material to ensure accuracy of shipment and receipt; performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

  • Record shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
  • Assists in the handling of materials and items from receiving area to designated bin locations
  • Facilitates outbound shipments using proper packing methods and 3rd party delivery services
  • Fulfills orders that are ready for shipment via will call, delivery or install
  • Receive and unpack materials and supplies
  • Report damages and discrepancies to request reimbursement or re-shipment
  • Maintain logs of all shipments outgoing and incoming
  • Fills requisitions, work orders or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes accordingly
  • Allocates product to appropriate rack, shelf or bin location according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, brand or product code
  • Prepare monthly production and volume reports in order to measure productivity and prepare billing charges

May possibly perform any of the following functions at the direction of management:

  • Handle hazardous materials
  • Effectively maneuvers through computer system in order to perform specified duties
  • Assists with execution of weekly cycle counts to ensure inventory integrity
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Posts weights and shipping charges and affixes postage
  • Marks materials with identifying information
Qualifications
  • High school Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of warehouse, distribution, manufacturing, or production experience
  • Experienced operating power tool equipment including but not limited to cherry picker, reach truck, pallet jack, etc.
  • Previous experience with material handling is required
  • Working knowledge of scanning equipment, internal database tracking system, dollies and carts
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent customer service, professional attitude and appearance are a must
  • Ability to work overtime & meet deadlines

Physical Demands

Physical activity required including bending, reaching, lifting and prolonged periods of sitting or standing

May lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.

Experience operating power tool equipment

If required to operate a forklift, must be forklift certified and be able to use hand truck to move, convey or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work

The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the accurate receiving, storing and picking of products in the warehouse, as well as safely transporting materials/equipment to customers/technicians, job sites, supply stores, or other company locations. This role requires a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and timely deliveries, while providing excellent customer service.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities listed below include, but are not limited to:
  • Monitor schedules for all jobs two days prior, pull/stage materials, and report status to managers
  • Ensure all jobs scheduled for the next day have necessary materials and equipment are pulled and staged to exceed a 20-minute turnaround goal by
  • Load and unload delivery trucks, load and unload company delivery trucks
  • Ensure the box truck or delivery truck has adequate fuel the day before for the start of the morning.
  • Load the truck in a manner to logistically (Manager will help)
  • Make pull bins pre-loaded
  • In the morning, please put away materials for deliveries from day before
  • Communicate directly with technicians
  • Verify all inventory/equipment that leaves the shop and yard has been properly recorded and placed according to job designation
  • Deliver equipment to job sites and assist on-site moving equipment as needed in a timely manner
  • Document technician returned materials and restock them in the proper place
  • List all overstocked/short items, facilitate returns, and report to managers
  • Review, sort, and place stock orders
  • Perform quarterly inventory count
  • Maintain a clean and orderly shop and yard
  • Forklift certification preferred, but not required.

  • Safely and efficiently operate forklift and additional warehouse equipment to load/unload/transfer material and product without causing damage within the warehouse and to/from delivery trucks
  • Ensure all items are received per procedure and stocked in assigned locations
  • Maintain Inventory and Prepare Cycle Counts
  • Complete Will Calls
  • Responsible for timely and accurate completion of paperwork and transaction entries
  • Proper PPE and uniform must be worn at all times during each shift
  • Maintain warehouse and forklift by following good housekeeping and safety procedures including pre and post shift forklift inspections. Alert manager of any concerns immediately.
  • Assist Customers and CSRs as needed
  • Follow standard operating procedures, established work processes and Company policies
Qualifications:
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and surroundings
  • Basic Computer skills including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders
  • Ability to successfully process (ex. Loading and Unloading) products
  • Ability to operate a forklift safely and work in a fast-paced warehous
  • Ability to pass Prove It and driving test
  • Must be eligible to be forklift certified in house within 30 days
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail and surroundings
  • Basic Computer skills including data entry to process transactions and generate reports and orders
  • Ability to understand and follow work instructions, policies and procedures
  • Be dependable, work well in a team environment, and establish positive working relationships with employees and customers
  • 1 plus years industrial forklift experience strongly preferred
  • 1 plus years of warehouse experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must have Valid driver's license
