Description
Puget Sound Pipe is a premier wholesale distributor of pipe, valves and fittings in the Pacific Northwest & Alaska. We are currently looking for an exceptional individual to join the warehouse team at our Kennewick, WA Branch location. This person would be responsible for safely and accurately receiving and storing materials, processing incoming and outgoing shipments and/or delivering complete and on-time orders to our customers.
Hired candidates will be working onsite at the branch location. There is no relocation assistance available.

- Use a forklift to load/unload boxes, pallets and pipe onto the truck
- Experience with box vans or 20+ foot flatbed trucks a plus
- A background in Warehouse operations and logistics, including shipping, receiving, delivery, and inventory management is preferred.
- Forklift experience and the ability to pass the certification course
- Basic math and computer skills
- Prior warehouse experience
- RF gun experience
- Ability to lift heavy material and packaging
- Understanding of the importance of inventory management
- Basic understanding of commercial and industrial pipe, valves and fittings
- HS Diploma or equivalency
- Pass pre-employment drug screen

- Must currently possess and maintain a current and clear driving record

WORK SCHEDULE -
Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week between the business hours of 8am - 5pm.
JOB SCOPE SUMMARY -
The Warehouse Associate performs a variety of tasks including unloading inbound shipments, receiving and picking orders, reporting inventory discrepancies, operating a forklift as needed, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment to support efficient warehouse operations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -
- Schedule and coordinate all inbound freight when necessary.
- Use an RF scan gun to manage inventory & track in/outbound freight
- Assist in unloading inbound freight, including use of forklift and pallet jacks.
- Receive all inbound freight (including branch transfers) and make sure it is staged and put away properly.
- Label all new inventory and take steps necessary for proper put-away.
- Put away stock in the warehouse according to agreed-upon standards and procedures.
- Replenish from overstock areas and "rotate stock" when appropriate.
- Update bin locations whenever necessary.
- Complete all paperwork and filing necessary for freight claims as well as daily receiving maintenance.
- Assist Replenishing, Order Pulling, and Shipping departments with the workload.
- Keep designated areas clean and orderly on a daily basis.
- Communicates well with Warehouse Supervisor and/or Branch Manager to ensure that all areas of the warehouse are being covered as needed.
- May work on special projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE -
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. A. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and two to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Past experience would include shipping/receiving, and material handling. HVAC/R experience along with customer service and/or sales preferred.
B. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Skill and ability to type 30-50 wpm, operate a computer, use 10 keys or calculator, organized and prioritize work, meet deadlines, prioritize and handle multiple tasks and able to operate office equipment. Good written and verbal communication skills along with good listening skills. Forklift.
