What you will be doing

• Assemble containers and crates, pack goods to be shipped, and prepare identifying information and shipping instructions.
• Assist with loading and unloading of goods from trucks, etc.
• Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods.
• Unpack and route goods to appropriate storage areas.
• Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport and store goods.
• Know safe storage and handling procedures for various materials.

Job Summary: We are seeking a motivated individual to join our company as a Shipping and Receiving Associate. As part of our team, you oversee and document the receiving of packages, parcels, and supplies, store items in the appropriate areas, and prepare items for shipping. This is a position that requires a highly organized personality. You must pay close attention to small details while managing the logistics of a high volume of items entering and leaving the facility.

Shipping and Receiving Clerk Duties and Responsibilities

• Accept and document packages and deliveries made to the facility
• Log in and assure accurate storing of items received, documenting any changes
• Prepare items for shipping, noting item contents, delivery methods, and other logistical details.
• Prepare BOL’s
• Identify and resolve shipping, storage, or receiving discrepancies as they arise
• Maintain a clearly organized workspace

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for ensuring accuracy at the “front gate” of the company operation. This individual will make sure all materials arriving to the company are correctly handled and received and will also guarantee every item leaving the facility is properly packaged and sent.

Accountable For:

• Receiving packages quickly as they arrive and performing inspections to verify records on file.
• Continuously placing items into inventory throughout the day to ensure warehouse organization and safety.

• Basic proficiency with computers. ERP experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with FedEx and UPS software.
• Experience and comfortability with basic hand/power tools. Ability to read blueprints is a plus.
• Working knowledge of shop math and ability to use measuring tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Reliable transportation and availability to work required schedule.

• **This position is for a project and will last approx. 3 months from start date

• **This role is not temp to hire.

• **Candidates with a lot of forklift experience need to understand, they would only be operating the forklift 10% of the time or less.

• **PPE Notification: Contractor is responsible for wearing their own steel toed boots, other PPE based on the task being performed will be provided to the contractor on site

Summary

**

This is a high energy level position responsible for managing the receipt and internal delivery of materials. This position requires a high level of accuracy processing all shipments receipts into our ERP system. Contact with Accounts Payable and purchasing is key following up with discrepancies.

**Essential Functions

**

• Receive all inbound shipments via small package, common carrier, and private carriers

• Update Navision (ERP) inventory system with quantities received

• Work with Customer Service to allocate inventory upon receipt

• Physically remove parts from inbound LTL and small parcel deliveries in a manner the follows all safety guidelines

• Manage all receiving requirements flagged for quality inspection and ensure proper documentation is retained for verification

• Ensure all parts are unpacked and checked to ensure quality and accuracy before being delivered to their appropriate warehouse location for assembly

• Work with the Procurement group to ensure that all receiving discrepancies are adjusted as required

• Put away parts after received

• Works closely with the accounting group on discrepancies.

• Maintain a clean and organized work area following the 5S principles

• Operate a narrow aisle or sit-down fork truck a plus

• Follow all safety requirements

• Other duties, as assigned

**Position Qualifications:

**

Education: High School Diploma.

**Experience:

**

• 1 to 5 years of warehousing experience

• Forklift license preferred, not required

• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, a thorough understanding of inventory control, strong problem-solving skills.

• Basic Working knowledge of computer systems.
