SUMMARY
Responsible for processing incoming and out-going shipments of products and/or material in compliance with the company’s guidelines and with attention to the specifics set forth in the customers’ directions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receiving:
- Receives and unloads all incoming product shipments and materials.
- Examines product, packaging and labeling for conformance to company requirements.
- Reviews the incoming shipment for accuracy with the purchase order and/or the accompanying documentation. This includes verification of counts and numbers of units of material/product for reconciliation to orders. GF system information may also be included for verifications.
- Resolves receiving problems and notifies Supervisory personnel of any issues.
- Identifies damaged goods for proper notification and/or communication to shipper upon receipt.
- Properly stacks incoming goods on pallets.
- Moves and places approved incoming product in designated inventory locations for storage.
- Properly stages non-conforming product or components when identified at any phase of product movement.
Shipping:
- Performs all picking functions ensuring that product picked conforms to order requirements
- Verifies shipping information.
- Properly stages non-conforming product or components when identified at any phase of product movement.
- Examines product, packaging and labeling for conformance to company specifications.
General:
- Performs various other related duties as directed.

We provide the freshest quality seafood to all types of establishments, including white tablecloth restaurants to buffets, supermarket chains, hotels, caterers, and natural food markets. Daily delivery service to the Hampton Roads, Virginia area 6 days a week. Also, deliveries to Richmond, Virginia's Eastern Shore, Charlottesville, Harrisonburg, Fredericksburg, and the Outer Banks of North Carolina areas via our fleet of refrigerated trucks.
This position will require the individual to handle receiving/storage and packing of Fresh Seafood to fill orders for restaurants and retail stores. This is a refrigerated area (approx. 40 degrees) and requires "hands on" contact with various species of fish.
Full-Time Hours:
Monday-Friday 7:00 am - close
Rotating Saturday's: 5:00 am - close (typically a few hours)
- High School Education or GED
- Cold Environment Work: 1 year
- Warehouse: 1 year
- The position requires an individual to be in good physical condition with the ability to lift 50lbs

As a Warehouse Worker you will be responsible for varied daily tasks such as restocking, accepting incoming orders, processing and packing orders, counting inventory, and ensuring orders are shipped in a timely manner.
The ideal candidate for this role is a diligent worker who can complete tasks successfully with little to no guidance and displays a strong commitment to safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensuring daily equipment inspections are complete prior to shift start and that deficiencies get reported immediately.
- Operating a reach truck and/or forklift to handle materials and stock.
- Fulfilling orders by pulling product, packaging, and preparing necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently strap/re-skid products as required.
- Preparing and completing orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship).
- Receiving and processing warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
- Sorting cargo during loading or unloading process and mark containers with identifying information.
- Inspecting new products for quality control issues and investigating any discrepancies in stock levels.
- Following quality service standards and complying with procedures, rules and regulations.
- Performing inventory controls and keeping quality standards high for audits.
- Keeping a clean and safe working environment and optimizing space utilization.
- Following written or oral instructions regarding daily tasks and job duties.
- Keeping and maintaining an inventory by labeling, identifying, and putting materials in stock.
- Periodically reviewing and counting inventory to pull material and supplies to verify that everything in stock is correct.
- Whenever items are going to be shipped out, making sure things are finished in time to be shipped out. This includes pulling, packing, crating, loading, and then securing the product.
- Throughout the day, be ready to load and unload a variety of materials from trucks and vans using the necessary equipment.
- Complying with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines, ensure the safety, security, and sanitation of the warehouse, and conduct periodic inspection of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS & ATTRIBUTES:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- 2+ years of prior warehousing experience required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating sit down and stand-up electric and propane forklifts is required.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating a reach truck is required.
- Minimum of 1 year inventory experience required.
- Strong English oral and written communications skills, strong mathematics skills; ability to read and understand shipping manifests and related documents required.
- Must have the ability to utilize and operate hand tools including pneumatic tools.
- Current forklift operation certificate is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in inventory software, databases and Microsoft Office Suite required.
- Familiarity with modern warehousing practices and methods.
- Good organizational, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the shift as needed is required.
- Ability to work scheduled hours as required by the company, occasional overtime hours may be required/scheduled.
