Position Summary :
The Warehouse Supervisor holds a pivotal role within the warehouse operations team, with the primary responsibility of fostering associate engagement, enhancing productivity, ensuring quality, accuracy, and safety within a designated area (inbound return orders, order picking, order sorting, or outbound/shipping). This is achieved through effective leadership and daily guidance provided to a team of numerous hourly associates. The Warehouse Supervisor is also accountable for close collaboration with peers in various departments to ensure that all decisions and outcomes are aligned with the overarching goals and objectives of the site. Effective communication with internal business teams, including inventory, customer solutions, sales, and warehouse operations, is an integral part of this role.
Important notes:
- Work Schedule: This position requires full-time on-site presence at the Savannah, GA factory. This role will involve overseeing daytime operations and leading a team of 13 hourly employees across 3 shifts, each with a Team Lead. The factory operates with 24-hour coverage from Monday to Friday. Additionally, there will be a rotating weekend schedule to provide an 8-hour coverage window for factory support on Saturdays and Sundays.
- Relocation Support: This position includes relocation assistance for eligible candidates
Key Responsibilities :
- Supervise associates to pick merchandise and consolidate orders, pack orders, or ship packages direct to consumers and retail customers
- Supervise secondary production functions associated with their currently assigned department, such as returns, return to vendor processes, make ready/audit functions, etc.
- Implement optimal staffing mix during assigned shift for applicable department(s) in partnership with management the production/wave planning office
- Supervise e-commerce and retail Warehouse operations (B2C, B2B)
- Monitor Warehouse lines to ensure goods flow properly within the facility; communicate best practices for conveying goods to associates within department(s) of responsibility as well as upstream and downstream departments
- Maintain accurate records of processed merchandise, packages and shipments, gift packaging, trackingnumbers, etc. as well as associate productivity. Prepare daily reports of these metrics for the management team and provide appropriate feedback to associates to support accountability and recognition
- Maintain high quality and productivity standards in assigned department(s) by providing continuous direction, training, and motivation to hourly associates (up to 75% time spent on warehouse floor)
- Coach and develop Warehouse leads in the day to day motivation and support of hourly order processors
- Ensure on-time order processing and Warehouse, keeping service level promises to our customers is critical
- Present problem analysis of operational issues to the inbound/outbound manager on duty (such as dips in productivity) and recommend solutions in a creative and logical manner
- Be solution oriented and routinely make recommendations for continuous improvement within the site
- Exercise the autonomy to make operational decisions on the fly to keep the building plans on track and support the business
- Responsible for assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organization policies and communications
- In partnership with the Warehouse area, plan and use independent discretion to organize day-to-day operations activities/objectives.
- Appropriately communicate with, follow up with, and support associates in a timely manner.
- Ability to leverage the various systems in the facility to generate reports, understand trends and potential road blocks, interpret any corrective measures needed and execute plans to achieve desired outcome
- Monitor hourly/daily reporting and escalate concerns when needed
- Must be able to learn, understand, and regularly execute tasks related to the various software programs used to run the facility. i.e. ERP, WMS
- Follow all established facility safety and security standards; set the example for, coach, and hold hourly associates accountable
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment; ensure all equipment is in working order and that associates have the tools they need to be effective.

Experience & Education Requirements :
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business (or equivalent industry experience).

Job Description
The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the inventory of the Warehouse and the daily transfer of HVAC freight and materials in a fast-paced environment. The ultimate goal of this role is to procure, pick, process, and dispatch products to customers and vendors for one of our established wholesale HVAC distributorships that carries multiple brands of equipment, parts and supplies.
Essential Duties/Accountabilities
Duties and responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Pick and verify orders for customers. NOTE: Baker has set Production Standards the employee will be required to meet on a weekly basis. The employee will receive additional information about Production Standards requirements during the interview process and after hire.
- Conduct Quality Inspections to verify/ensure the products being received, picked and shipped are accurate.
- Daily loading and unloading of products in truck for delivery to customers and/or other Sales Centers.
- Receive, inspect, and stock all merchandise.
- Prepare orders for shipment as needed.
- Responsible for daily checklist of truck and forklift maintenance.
- Assist management with inventory counts and provide daily upkeep of the Warehouse.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Highschool Diploma or GED Preferred
- Warehouse and or forklift experience is desired.
- Appliance lift experience is a plus.
- Must be able to multi-task and work within daily deadlines.
- Must possess and maintain a current, valid Driver's License.
- Must be proficient in speaking, reading, and understanding English to ensure full compliance with safety standards, training, policies, and procedures.
