Job Summary :
We are seeking a Warehouse Worker / CDL Driver to join our team at our steel distribution center. In this role, you will play an integral part in handling, organizing, and preparing steel products for distribution, while ensuring a clean and safe warehouse environment. This position requires both warehouse and driving responsibilities, making it ideal for individuals with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and customer service skills.
Pay: $18 - $23/hr
Key Responsibilities :
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport steel products, handling materials both manually and with equipment.
- Warehouse Operations: Organize and store materials properly while maintaining cleanliness and safety in the work area.
- Truck Loading & Driving: Safely load truck beds with steel products, ensuring proper weight distribution and securement.
- CDL Driving: Operate a flatbed truck for deliveries when needed (Class A CDL preferred ). We are open to Class B and C licenses as well.
- Customer Service: Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner during pickups and deliveries.
- Outdoor Work Environment: Work in an open-air warehouse , exposed to varying weather conditions.
- Construction & Heavy Material Knowledge: Utilize experience in manual labor and construction to understand steel weight capacities and proper handling techniques.
Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2+ years prior experience in a warehouse, manufacturing, or steel distribution environment is a plus.
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to (specify weight limit, e.g., 50 lbs)).
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other heavy machinery (certifications are a plus).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic math and measurement skills for reading and interpreting orders.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

The hourly rate for this position is $19.00 per hour. The hours for this shift are 5:30 am - 2:00 pm.
**This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.**
Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
**What you'll do:**
**Position Overview:**
This position will be responsible for the cycle counting, stocking and pulling material for routers to support assembly maintaining accurate inventory transactions in WDS to ensure inventory accuracy.
**In this function you will:**
- Perform a daily cycle count (minimum of 15% of our inventory)
- Accurately and efficiently pick product from inventory to complete workorders released.
- Receive daily inbounds same day they come in.
- Communicate with the purchasing team of discrepancy with pack slips and inbound material
- Sort and stage castings/housings/bar stock that are received from suppliers
- Load outbound carriers (FedEx/UPS/LTL)
- Maintain an organized and clean receiving area
- Be available to work OT and Weekends as needed
**Qualifications:**
**Required (Basic) Qualifications:**
- High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required.
- Minimum 6 months of previous work experience in a Warehouse and/or Stockroom is required.
- No relocation benefit is offered for this position. Only candidates residing within 50 miles of Irvine, CA will be considered for this position.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
**Preferred qualifications**
- Forklift certified is preferred
- Previous experience working with a Material Requirements Planning (MRP) system
**Skills:**
**Position Criteria:**
- Must follow all safety guidelines and Life Saving Rules to ensure as safe work environment
- Ability to read, write and print legibly and interpret invoices, bills of lading and other documents
- Knowledge of simple math including the use of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers
- May occasionally lift objects weighing up to 35 pounds.
- Ability to follow directions from a supervisor; understand and follow posted work rules and procedures; accept constructive criticism; and work under stress
- Handle fairly heavy materials with the aid of push carts and pallet jacks. Operate forklift. Factory Environment
- Ability to work overtime when required
