As a Shipping and Receiving Associate at Vital Farms, you will work within our state-of-the-art manufacturing and production facility to load and unload our pasture-raised eggs from our family farms. This role at Egg Central Station (ECS) is critical in bridging the gap from local family farms to grocery stores for our consumers. You'll be on your feet during each twelve-hour shift, moving, lifting, loading and working with air-conditioned and sunlight-filled warehouse.

What You'll Do:

• You will be receiving various orders, including eggs, paper goods, and materials using electric pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners for efficiency
• Focusing on customer satisfaction, you will be loading trucks to ship orders to distribution centers and/or grocery retailers
• To ensure that our standard of quality is being met, you will be organizing our finished goods area to accommodate the FIFO method of goods
• Successfully use DSI scanning system to monitor movement of finished goods
• Creating an excellent customer experience for our drivers will be your priority
• Build pallets as needed for orders
• Some of your time will be spent reading and understanding bill of ladings and sales orders to ensure efficient product movement

What You Bring to the Table:

• 1 year of shipping and receiving experience
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow specific instructions
• Basic math skills
• Must be able to speak, read and write in English for safety reasons
• Able to be certified to operate a forklift or pallet jack
• Able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch for extended periods of time
• Good manual dexterity working with hands to reach, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls
• Able to frequently lift and / or move up to 60 pounds.
• Able to work safely in an environment when exposed to wet conditions
• Follow all personal safety and food safety requirements rigorously
• Ensure work area is clean and free of any hazards
• Other duties as required

• Affixes all required stickers for shipments and mark crates and cartons accordingly
• Packages items and/or products to complete shipments, as required
• Receives numerous items for production, tool room, corporate offices and other area, such as returned or damaged goods, production materials, tools, information, catalogs, etc.
• Assures counts and condition of materials and items, notes discrepancies
• Delivers goods and items to appropriate party or place in designated area
• Performs daily PM maintenance checks on lift trucks and related equipment

Position Requirements:

The Shipper/ Receiver must possess the minimum knowledge listed below:

• High School Graduate preferred
• Prior manufacturing experience a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to read and write and follow written and verbal work orders
• Ability to read a measuring tape and production instruments
• Ability to drive a fork lift
• Capability of lifting up to 50 pounds unassisted
• Must be able to lift 50-100 pounds intermittently in a team lift situation
• Ability to do repetitive bending, reaching, stretching, lifting, twisting, pushing and pulling

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Material Handler to join our team in Windsor. As a crucial member of our shipping and packaging department, you will be responsible for handling materials efficiently and ensuring smooth operations within the warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload customer orders into a company vehicle and deliver products to customers.

• Package products into boxes.

• Maintain materials in good order and condition during handling, shipping, receiving, and storage.

• Follow designated schedules and deadlines for delivery, shipping, and receiving.

• Ensure that customer orders are shipped on time, to the right location, and with the correct parts.

• Handle shipping and receiving activities, including UPS, auto freight, 'will call,' store-to-store transfers, and LTL shipments.

• Ensure the smooth functioning of the warehouse, including shipping and receiving functions, general material handling duties, cycle counting, and inventory records accuracy.

• Control inventory and examine shipping and receiving discrepancies and damages on customer orders and product deliveries.

• Assist in the maintenance and upkeep of all warehouse machinery and equipment.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse operations.

• Experience with overhead cranes and forklifts (stand up and sit down).

• Proficiency in ERP systems.

• Efficiency in data entry and reviewing customer orders.

• Flexibility to cross-train and assist in other departments.
