Warehouse Position
General Pacific, an Electric Utility Distributor, located in Fairview, Oregon, is looking to add a warehouse person to their team.

Position Summary
The position supports our sales staff by shipping and receiving materials promptly. Also, communicating with support staff and solving inventory issues as they arise.

Position Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintain the warehouse, so it is clean, organized, and safe for all employees.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or convey orders to the packing station or shipping department.
  • Load and offload delivery trucks without damage to materials received or equipment.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Reads customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Organize by sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product part number.
  • Marks the materials received to stock with identifying bar-coding information.
  • Weighed or counted items shipping to the customers and received the proper quantities to stock.
  • Maintained inventory records.
  • Operates bar code readers for shipping and receiving of materials.
  • Rotates stock material to keep the oldest material shipping first.
  • Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

**Position Purpose:**
The DC Operations Manager is responsible for the success of assigned functions within a complex distribution center environment to ensure that it is an outstanding place to work. The DC Operations Manager may be responsible for the supervision of one or more of the following: Inbound Operations (Unloading and Receiving), Warehouse Operations (Pick-Pack, Break-Pack), Outbound Operations (Loading), Transportation Operations (Yard, Carrier Relations) and/or Office Operations (e.g., Transportation Coordinators, Customer Service Associates, General Office Associates). The DC Operations Manager works with the General Manager or DC Assistant General Manager to develop strategies and objectives to maximizing productivity and leverage expenses for the Home Depot distribution center. DC Operations Managers must analyze trends, solve problems and motivate and develop themselves and associates in order to maximize contribution to the DC success - typically manages through several Supervisors to achieve results from a large number of hourly associates.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ 20% Managing to ensure operational excellence in all warehouse areas, efficient operations of warehouse management system(s) and related equipment, inventory is received appropriately and efficiently and safely processed in the warehouse, proper layout of warehouse and product placement, and proper maintenance and organization of all warehouse areas so that it's appearance is conducive to creating a perfect load for our Stores and Customers
+ 20% Assists GM or AGM with the evaluation of the effectiveness of and recommends alternatives for work methods, procedures, controls and staffing to achieve accurate and timely movement and processing of product; manage to ensure warehouse layout is optimally aligned for maximum efficiency as seasonality and inventory needs require.
+ 15% Assists GM and/or AGM with the DC's financial, operational, people and process and service related objectives to drive continuous improvement and efficiency gains to reduce overall cost-to-serve; leads associates, and peers to anticipate and solve problems and plan for upcoming events, seasonal changes, etc. Depending on DC, may assist in management of 3PL provider to ensure optimal performance and metrics are achieved.
+ 15% Coaches, trains, and develops Associates informally and through formal training programs, providing both informal (e.g. on-floor coaching) and formal (e.g. written evaluation) job performance based feedback. General Functions/Duties:

  • Handle, load and unload a variety of products and material for the purpose of storage and distribution. Maintain determined levels of inventory on the sales floor.
  • Receive, load, un-load, count, weigh, measure, code and store materials on or from freight vehicles.
  • Move material using appropriate material handling tools and equipment including but not limited to: by-hand, hand truck, pallet jack, dolly, and/or operation of forklifts or other vehicles.
  • Open and/or unwrap crates, boxes, cartons, and other containers using hammers, crowbars, cutting tools and tape.
  • Wrap, seal and secure material on pallets for distribution.
  • Collect, sort and/or stack such items or materials as clothes, fertilizers, tools, lawn/garden supplies, machines, feed and all other products sold by the company.
  • Report any discrepancies in receiving to designated supervisor/manager.
  • Place reusable items in containers, and dispose of waste by operating compactor or bailing machine.
  • Perform such duties as spotting trucks, freight checking and checking in inbound freight from trucking companies and vendors.
  • Assist in the maintenance of a periodic or perpetual inventory of stock as it is received or issued, including stock rotation when appropriate.
  • Determine nature and extent of damage to shipments received and report such damage to the supervisor.
  • Stock shelves and all areas of the sales floor for maximum inventory on sales floor.
  • Clean work areas and maintain equipment in an orderly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.


Requirements:


Required Experience: Experience as a Material Handler with working knowledge of inventory systems, proper storage methods and record keeping preferred.


Required Education/Certification: High School Diploma or GED. Forklift certification preferred, not required. Possession of a valid driver’s license, must have a good driving record.


Other Requirements: Frequent lifting of 25 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds is required. Must be able to work the majority of shift walking and standing, move merchandise and physically participate in resets, remodels and reconstruction projects.

What You'll Do:

* Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
* Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
* Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
* Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
* Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

* Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures, following site-specific policies, and responding to emergency situations as appropriate.
* Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting the needs of the location.
* Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the logistics and distribution facility and its perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or suspicious behavior.
* Monitor access points and observe activities within the location to help to deter potential security-related concerns.
* Document and report any security-related incidents, hazards, or unusual occurrences according to Allied Universal protocols.
* Collaborate with site personnel and local authorities as needed to address security-related matters and support a secure environment for staff and visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

* Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
