Founded in 1938, Wilcox Medical Center is a not-for-profit medical center dedicated to providing the Kaua'i community with accessible quality health care. The largest medical center on Kaua'i, it is a state-of-the-art acute care facility with a full suite of services offering 30 specialties and programs, including cardiology, emergency, family practice, gastroenterology, health management, internal medicine, neurology, OB-GYN, oncology, orthopedics, pediatrics and urology. Its 18-bed emergency department serves as the island's Primary Stroke Center. The medical center also has four birthing suites, seven intensive care beds and 20 same-day surgery beds. As the Environmental Services Technician, you will help our Environmental Services department to provide a safe and comfortable environment for patients, staff and guests at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Your responsibilities include maintaining laundry areas in a clean, sanitary, and orderly condition; checking, counting and accurately recording all linen usage, including abused and discarded linen; monitoring linen needs for all stations and making necessary adjustments; verifying all incoming linen from contract cleaners and matching their count with invoices.
We are looking for someone with a positive attitude and commitment to quality service, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision and a commitment to delivering the highest quality health care to Hawai'i's people.

- Identifies and segregates waste according to applicable state, federal and local regulations
- Remains compliant with all annual training requirements and participates in regular training to ensure a continued understanding of departmental policies and procedures
- Participates in team meetings, working groups and committees as needed to assist in developing processes within the department
- Operates Epic Rovers and vocera systems to facilitate effective communications within the department and to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
- Assist in the training of new hires in the assigned areas
