POSITION SUMMARY: The Waste Disposal Coordinator is responsible for approvals, permitting and approving material profiles for the TSDF facility. The Waste Disposal Coordinator independently certifies that the Company receives and processes waste in a safe and compliant manner and secures final disposal facility approvals. Reviews waste profiles and documentation to ensure the safety of employees and compliance with all permits and regulations while maximizing profitability.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews paperwork and/or samples for completeness, safety with respect to treatment/disposal, and compliance with all applicable regulations/permits.

  • Works under general direction and work is guided through project or sub-function objectives.

  • Solves complex problems and seeks guidance for highly complex problems.

  • Identifies potential waste stream issues and direct such waste streams to proper department.

  • Assists in the proper completion of waste profiles and approves material profile sheets.

  • Identifies potential waste stream problems and directs such waste streams to the proper department.

  • Coordinates with other departments to arrange third party vendor shipments to alternate Treatment, Storage and Disposal Facilities (TSDFs)

  • Approves QA/QC documents.

  • Secures final disposal facility approvals.

  • Provides regulatory interpretation to staff and customers.

  • Performs audits on final disposal facilities.

  • Acts as a liaison between the operations and sales departments.

  • Ensures that incoming waste is acceptable under existing permit.

  • Provides assistance with pricing for the safe and legal treatment/removal of materials.

  • Performs other, related duties as assigned or apparent.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledgeable of waste characterization principles and practices including analysis and evaluation, and waste processing protocols.

  • Persuasive and highly effective at communicating, internally and externally.

  • Strong ability to collaborate, listen and manage relationships.

  • Ability to understand a particular situation from the perspective of different business units (regulatory, operations, financial, etc.).

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge and understanding of RCRA, DOT, TSCA, and applicable state regulations gained through two (2) or more years of progressively responsible experience in waste disposal, chemistry, or a related field.

  • Knowledgeable of current industrial safety practices and industrial hygiene and of hazardous waste treatment, storage and disposal operations.

Overview

Customer centered role supporting field operations, sales, compliance reporting, and billing. The Waste Disposal Coordinator will work in both team-setting and independently to ensure customer needs are met while maintaining compliance and safety with the rules and regulations of DOT, RCRA, and each partner disposal facility. Preferred Qualifications

Location Description

Wakefield is one of the largest production facilities within Michael Foods. We serve as a flex plant and are able to produce everything from a whole pasteurized egg to liquid, dried, hardboiled and curds.

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Works on scheduled days as directed, in relation to production scheduling and or time volunteered for. This being in relation to attendance policy and or guidelines.
  • Drives manure tractors trucks, loads, hauls and spreads manure according to EPA guidelines by logging all loads. Responsible for completing a "Manure Load" form for accounting department to invoice customers, form includes customer name, date spread, and number of loads delivered.
  • Required to assist the Manure Maintenance department with daily maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of all manure handling equipment when not driving.
  • Assists drivers and or House People with maintenance issues as needed and or as directed.
  • Driver is required to cover all out going loads to insure waste product is not lost during trip. This also includes insuring that their trailer is not leaking any liquid waste as well.
  • Driver is required to regularly clean their truck cabs and trailers as needed in the appropriate truck cleaning areas.
  • Any damages or need for repairs are to be brought to the attention of the truck mechanic and Maintenance Lead immediately.
  • Daily equipment inspection before use each day. This relates to things such as fluid levels, air pressure, greasing, proper licensing of equipment for over the road use, availability and functionality of fire extinguisher in cab and other related items.
  • Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.

Our priority is to make sure we hire safe drivers that care about the service provided to the community. As a driver with us the minimum responsibilities are:

* Safely operating a garbage truck on specified routes to collect solid waste.
* Reading route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
* Performing routine post and pre route inspections on vehicles such as checking fluids, safety equipment, and tires.
* Having professional and courteous interactions with our customers when needed.
* Perform other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

What we need from you:

* Valid Class A or B CDL
* Clean driving record
* 1 year of local route driving experience
