Job Description
Responsible for daily water quality operations to include: water quality parameter testing/verification, lift station/storm water station troubleshooting and sampling, chemical management, mechanical/electrical preventative and corrective maintenance. Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment to include: filtration and UV sterilization systems, centrifugal pumps/motors, pool/venue rehab and repairs, plumbing repairs and storm water infrastructure. Respond to and assists in recovery of attractions and water features while the attraction is operational.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Inspection and Operations - evaluates water conditions, chemical and/or waste for compliance by conducting sampling, performing inspection of equipment, tanks, and processes, evaluates data related to water and/or waste parameters. Manage and coordinate diverse technical support activities conducted through contractors. Provide evaluative field support for the company's EHS requirements under regulatory and/or corporate policy requirements.
+ Equipment Maintenance - gain proficiency in operating instruments and equipment as assigned to include chemical feeders, pumps, motors, UV systems, VFD's, electrical interfaces/cabinets and all supporting equipment, plumbing repairs, storm water infrastructure, lift station monitoring and repairs for storm/sanitary, tile and pool finish repair, confined space entries while performing work in space, direct read instruments, alarm systems, small combustion engines etc. Maintain proper instrument calibration, operation and establish/maintain working relationships with equipment vendors for water and waste management equipment.
+ Administrative Duties - maintain field-generated and office records, perform data entry, prepare logbooks, procedures, as-built drawings, O&M's, safety training, work order utilization, etc. Complete PQS qualification of assigned venues. Trains new technicians to do venue-specific PM work orders, recover procedures and processes. Create and complete Maximo work orders and completion reports.
+ Emergency Response and Incident Prevention - inspect for release controls to include secondary containments, spill equipment, response supplies, erosion control, storm conveyance systems, emergency pumps, overfill protections. Respond to environmental incidents and take immediate action to control and/or stop further release related to water, chemicals and/or waste and perform proper cleaning/remediation when necessary. Activate UO incident response as necessary and in accordance with EHS policy and regulation.
+ Performs modifications of electrical, mechanical and pool/venue systems per UO Engineering or OEM specifications and direction.
+ Chemical/Waste Management - ensure proper labeling, handling, application, inspection, storage and disposal of water, aquatic pest control and regulated waste. Ensures waste is prepared for proper transport as required.
+ Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Associate degree (AS) in physical, biological, or chemical sciences, or equivalent, is preferred. Technical School in Electrical or Mechanical Field is preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
5+ years of experience applicable to the area of concentration for the role being hired (e.g., combination of maintenance of mechanical, electrical systems, plumbing, regulated waste, emergency response, theme park water ride systems, storm water management) is strongly preferred.
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

The Water Quality Specialists will consist of professional and non-professional personnel to provide support to state, tribal, territorial local governments, and some private non-profits. This position is located at Central Office in St. Paul and may have the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent will be expected to work in the office as determined by policy and discussion with their supervisor.
This position exists to develop, direct, and conduct air and water quality field studies, research, as well as other environmental monitoring, and sampling investigations so that highway construction projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
Examples of work tasks include:
+ Conducting water, air, and soil quality sampling throughout the state so that the desired data can be obtained, evaluated, and appropriately applied
+ Updating existing databases.
+ Researching approved materials.
+ Maintaining, updating, and revising environmental documentation.
+ Servicing, calibrating, maintaining and repairing air and water quality monitoring and sampling equipment so that the appropriate equipment is available for field installations, operates properly when installed in the field and produces accurate result.
**Minimum Qualifications**
Three years of professional experience in the areas noted below:
NOTE: A Bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science or public health substitutes for one year of professional experience.
+ Experience with proper soil, water, and air sampling methods using applicable Minnesota Pollution Control Agency/Environmental Protection Agency (MPCA/EPA) standards.
+ Experience with database and data management sufficient to maintain, update and revise information databases and create spreadsheets in order to compile and report on relevant data.
+ Experience with data collection, research and analysis sufficient to assist with business management and/or measurement of operational effectiveness.
+ Valid driver's license

Position Purpose:
The Data Analyst will be an integral member of the Operational Performance and Technology team. This role involves applying data mining, statistical, and modeling techniques to various data types daily. The Data Analyst will collaborate closely with multiple Operational Areas, including Production, Engineering, Water Quality, and Finance. The primary responsibility is to gather, interpret, and report data findings comprehensively to relevant business colleagues.
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
- Collaborate within a team-oriented environment to support peers in achieving shared objectives, adapt to shifting priorities effectively, and maintain professional relationships with all internal and external staff.
- Conduct exploratory analysis of large datasets using statistical methods to analyze trends, identify issues, and investigate potential areas for improvement.
- Support the monitoring, analysis, evaluation, and improvement of PFAS treatment systems to ensure compliance with technical and financial efficiencies.
- Maintain the functionality of the Water Quality (WQ) database management system, ensuring accurate and timely data collection, and address internal users requests with the support of the database vendor.
- Track and monitor media changeouts for all PFAS treatment systems, analyzing data to identify areas for efficiency improvement.
- Coordinate with individual Business Units (BUs) on sampling schedules, track sample analysis and results, collect and summarize system operation data from the SCADA system, conduct performance modeling, and prepare management reports highlighting trends, patterns, and predictions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Based in Paramus, NJ and will primarily work in an office environment, but must be able to travel occasionally within the service territory of the Veolia Regulated Utilities (DE, ID, NJ, NY, PA, and RI) as necessary.

Education/Experience/Background:
- Bachelors degree required; Masters degree is a plus. A major in STEM is required.
- 0-2 years of overall experience in data management/analytics or othertechnology-related positions.

- Knowledge of Water Quality compliance rules and regulations, water chemistry, and drinking water treatment processes a plus.

The County of Riverside's Flood Control and Water Conservation District has an exciting opportunity for a Water Quality and Environmental Compliance Specialist . This position will be filled at either the Assistant Flood Control Planner or Associate Flood Control Planner level and will be assigned to the Flood Control District's Watershed Protection Division in Riverside.
About the Role:
Watershed Protection Division staff are principally engaged in the development and implementation of regulatory compliance strategies that balance protection of the natural environment with the District's mission to responsibly manage stormwater in service of safe, sustainable and livable communities. This role requires a detailed understanding of urban stormwater quality management, and the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits governing the construction, operation and maintenance of stormwater management infrastructure. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting and coordinating implementation of stormwater management practices and NPDES permit compliance actions.
- Collecting and analyzing environmental quality data to evaluate aquatic ecosystem health and inform management decisions.
- Evaluating stormwater program implementation outcomes and effectiveness.
- Preparing regulatory compliance reports and program guidance documents, ensuring timely submission to regulatory agencies.
- Developing and managing consultant contracts, reviewing consultant products for quality.
- Coordinating closely with municipal NPDES Copermittees and regulatory agencies.
- Planning and coordinating public education and outreach activities related to water quality protection.
- Analyzing environmental legislation/regulations for impacts on municipal operations and formulating regulatory compliance approaches.
