You will:

  • Build and oversee 'train the trainer' programs to vendor and partner instructors, ensuring high quality and consistent delivery of the established curriculum, and auditing instructors and classes.
  • Lead the delivery of training content for operators for safety-critical missions including hands-on technical training related to vehicle operation as well as training for managers on software-based tools that assist management.
  • Implement Waymo's technical training programs for Operations vendors and partners related to autonomous vehicle deployment, testing and depot operations, and the management of these operations, ensuring effective delivery, safety prioritization and coordination.
  • Plan and execute 'train the trainer' roadmap to meet business needs of markets expansion, scale learning initiatives effectively, managing event calendars and driving programs across functions. Focus on scaling initiatives that enhance safe operations and regulatory adherence across all training activities.
  • Manage the qualifications, certifications, and enrollments of vendor/partner trainers and operators within the Learning Management System (LMS), including conducting top-level troubleshooting.
  • Drive accountability and monitor the quality of external training partners and their ability to achieve desired learning proficiencies and operational readiness adhering to safety best practices.

You have:

  • 10+ years of experience in managing and delivering complex technical and operational training programs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in effective training delivery methodologies, certification in effective training practice (ATD or other applicable program), experience with train the trainer (TTT) programs, and an engaging presentation and facilitation style.
  • Proven experience managing vendor relationships and external training teams to deliver scalable programs.
  • Solid understanding and application of adult learning principles in technical training delivery.
  • Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS) for tracking qualifications, enrollments, and assessment results.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate across teams and proactively communicate with various stakeholders in a fast-paced environment with business-critical deadlines and high volumes of change.

Primary Functions: 1) Manage the College's Automotive technologies educational and training programs including, four comprehensive AAS degree programs based on the (1) General Motors Automotive Service Education Program (GM ASEP), (2) Mopar Career Automotive Program (MCAP), (3) Subaru University (Subaru-U), (4) Global Automotive Technology Program, Certification Programs, Specialized Diplomas, as well as customized contracted training; Instruct key areas of Automotive topics as required; develop and evolve the Automotive technologies educational & training programs.

Responsibilities : Work with the Associate Dean, Automotive, Industry and Manufacturing, College staff, adjunct faculty, and community representatives to: (1) develop course curricula and assessment tools for Specialized Diploma, Certificate & AAS degree programs; develop, administer and promote new and existing credit and non-credit programs including customized contracted training for the local automotive service industry, including new car dealerships, independent garages, service stations, and specialty type repair facilities; collaborate with Community Education departments to market and sell contracted training to the automotive industry. modularize, organize, disseminate and manage all Automotive technologies equipment, systems, training and assessment information; (2) ensure delivery and quality of instruction for Automotive technologies-related courses: supervise and mentor adjunct instructors in all matters related to credit and non-credit courses; recruit, interview and train qualified adjunct staff for Automotive technologies instructors, evaluate adjunct performance in class, review student evaluations, and take appropriate action for improvement and ensure that training materials are prepared and available to and used by the adjunct instructors; (3) Instruct Automotive technologies courses on or off campus as needed equating to a teaching load of less than 12 credits per semester; (4) Manage and, with the assistance of lab technicians, construct, purchase and maintain all materials and lab equipment: upon approval, design and oversee the construction of lab apparatus and facility changes; maintain existing equipment and apparatus; transfer, set up and tear down equipment for offsite locations as needed; (5) Assist the Associate Dean, Automotive, Industry and Manufacturing in the credit and non-credit sections of the College in marketing the automotive programs: visit potential automotive customers to disseminate information about both non-credit and credit programs; continue dialog with automobile manufacturers (both foreign and domestic), enabling NCC to serve as a TRAINING CENTER for new model update training for automobile dealerships; assist in developing content for marketing pieces such as flyers and web pages; participate in promotional events such as trade shows, open houses, and career fairs; (6) assist in advising credit and non-credit students: participate in the annual student orientations; advise potential students on career and programs; advise matriculating students in course selection; (7) maintain a liaison relationship with the appropriate program advisory committees. (8) provide leadership for strengthening relationships in automotive programs with other schools and colleges. Autonomous Vehicles - Training Manager

We are seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead and govern the Training & Policy initiatives for our field operations, with a strong preference for candidates with a background in digital operations and autonomous vehicle driving operations. The ideal candidate will possess strategic and operational capabilities to manage end-to-end training programs, team governance, content development, and client interfacing.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the training function across multiple locations and ensure compliance with training standards.

Manage LMS processes including enrollments, completions, and training calendar coordination.

Conduct training need analysis; identify gaps and build tailored documentation (SOPs, Playbooks, Checklists, etc.).

Collaborate with operations to address quality issues and learning gaps.

Drive interventions for both new hires and tenured staff through focused training plans.

Monitor field practices and safety standards and implement corrective actions.

Track and analyze training feedback, PKT outcomes, and attrition rates.

Oversee policy management including creation, updates, and dissemination.

Ensure policy accuracy and support trainers in adopting best practices in content development.

Review and provide feedback on change management content.

Facilitate the identification and closure of policy gaps.

Lead a team of trainers and policy points-of-contact.

Conduct regular performance reviews and developmental sessions.

Ensure proper work allocation, resource utilization, and adherence to attendance protocols.

Maintain and audit team performance records, scorecards, and trackers.

Mentor and coach team members towards achieving key results.

Serve as the primary client liaison for all training and policy-related discussions.

Translate client requirements into actionable plans and ensure deliverables are met.

Represent the team in client reviews, presentations, and site shadows.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Master's preferred).

10+ years of experience in training management, preferably in digital field operations or autonomous vehicle environments.

Proven ability to manage training schedules, resources, and teams across locations.

Strong understanding of quality management and process improvement.

Experience in LMS platforms, content creation, and client-facing roles.

Willingness to travel frequently across locations.
