The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of management experience in hardware development as well as hands-on experience in hardware design, including system architecture, schematics capture, thermal analysis, and layout related to power circuitry, PCB flooring plan, RF front end, etc. to develop best in class Connectivity systems for General Motor's vehicles.
The Connectivity Module Hardware Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a small team and leading the design, development, function/performance validation, and issue resolution, of hardware components and systems that support Connectivity technologies across all GM vehicles and architectures. This role is tightly coupled to cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration, product managers, and system engineers, to create secure and reliable Connectivity solutions and assist in defining future technology roadmaps and resolution of issues that arise throughout development and production.
**What You'll Do**
+ Hardware Design: Design, develop, and test Connectivity hardware systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, wireless communication modules (5G, BT, Wi-Fi, BLE, NFC, UWB), and power management circuits while maintaining module performance and signal integrity.

+ Identify and manage all new customer-specific process and equipment development projects.

+ Evaluate, optimize and negotiate tradeoffs for DFX issues with suppliers, customers, supply chain and equipment leaders to deliver a cost-optimized total manufacturing solution.
+ Evaluate potential manufacturing impacts affecting safety, cost, quality or delivery for each design concept.
+ Evaluate suppliers' capability and capacity to meet production schedule and cost targets
+ May also be considered the Subject Matter Expert in the company for specific sub-sector(s) of manufacturing.

**The Role**
Connectivity plays a pivotal role in using and advancing technology to offer unparalleled customer experience and develop revenue generating streams while acting as cornerstone to offer safety critical, hands-free driving solutions in line with General Motor's strong safety culture. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Connectivity Module Hardware Engineer with a strong background in 5G, BT, Wi-Fi, BLE, UWB, and NFC technologies. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of management experience in hardware development as well as hands-on experience in hardware design, including system architecture, schematics capture, thermal analysis, and layout related to power circuitry, PCB flooring plan, RF front end, etc. to develop best in class Connectivity systems for General Motor's vehicles.
The Connectivity Module Hardware Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing a small team and leading the design, development, function/performance validation, and issue resolution, of hardware components and systems that support Connectivity technologies across all GM vehicles and architectures. This role is tightly coupled to cross-functional teams, including vehicle integration, product managers, and system engineers, to create secure and reliable Connectivity solutions and assist in defining future technology roadmaps and resolution of issues that arise throughout development and production.
**What You'll Do**
+ Hardware Design: Design, develop, and test Connectivity hardware systems, including microcontrollers, sensors, wireless communication modules (5G, BT, Wi-Fi, BLE, NFC, UWB), and power management circuits while maintaining module performance and signal integrity.
+ Architecture Design: Create detailed system architectures, schematics, layouts, and thermal analysis to ensure system performance requirements.
+ System Integration: Collaborate with vehicle integration and packaging teams to integrate digital key hardware systems into the broader vehicle electrical architecture ensuring optimal performance considering design constraints and tradeoffs.
+ Testing Plan: Contribute with the elaboration of Sanity and Deep Dive Tests Plan in component and vehicle levels.
+ Prototyping & Testing: Develop and validate prototypes, conduct rigorous testing, and ensure hardware meets function, signal integrity and performance requirements.
+ Troubleshooting & Debugging: Provide troubleshooting support for hardware-related issues, performing root-cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
+ Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure all program deliveries and dates are met for design releases, vehicle integration, DFMEAs, testing, defect resolution, and product launch.
+ Technology Development: Stay abreast with the latest advancements in Connectivity technology and hardware design, in addition to recommending and implementing improvements to processes and products.
+ Sourcing: Support selection and provide direction to CMs throughout development process.
+ Compliance & Standards: Ensure all hardware designs comply with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC, CE, FCC) and regulatory requirements.
+ Communication: Report to senior leaders on project status, roadblocks, and escalation requests.
**Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)**
+ Minimum of a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or equivalent with extensive industry experience.
+ 5+ years of management experience in hardware development
+ 10+ years of experience in hardware design and testing.
+ Expertise in 5G, BT, Wi-Fi, BLE, UWB, and NFC technologies with a strong understanding of their application in vehicle Connectivity systems.
+ Strong proficiency in PCB design including schematics and layout using industry-standard tools (e.g., Xpedition, Altium, Eagle, KiCad).
+ Experience with hardware debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and signal generators.
+ Knowledge of embedded systems design and microcontroller architectures (ARM, etc.).
+ Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex hardware and system issues.
+ Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple disciplines.

Position Summary:
This position will functionally manage a Mechanical team of around 10 people located in USA and India. The Manager, Hardware Engineering will work within the Dover Fueling Solutions Regional Engineering team (North America) delivering product to DFS business unit and will report directly to the Director of Hardware Engineering for North America. As a working manager, the successful candidate will both contribute to product design and lead the design team. This position will be based on our Austin, Texas campus.
Key Responsibilities:
 Oversee planning and execution of one of the Mechanical team developments executed and products maintained by the appropriate team members
 Design develop, and document (using 3D CAD software) new and existing dispenser components and modules
 Fabricate and assemble prototype components and modules
 Develop design verification test methods
 Manage one (or multiple) dispenser product line projects; liaise with electronics and software design departments, Manufacturing and Purchasing
 Participate in the integration of the hardware modules in the final platform and product
 Participate in field support and maintenance of the systems
 Provide full Technical Documentation for all developments
 Develop KPIs to demonstrate and improve team efficiency and product quality and time-to-market
 Coach, mentor, and oversee team's professional growth in terms of dispenser design; HW development processes (e.g. reviews, specs, designs, unit tests, engineering testing, etc.); documentation; and quality
 Identify innovation ideas and spot cost reduction potentials in Manufacturing
 Create detailed milestone and resource planning for all projects
 Maintain department planning related to overhead, issue resolution, legacy support, NPD
 Manage reporting demands that include weekly highlights report
 Participate in weekly department meetings to review progress on status (target dates versus actual); other strategic issues; required investments; general department/team member issues; unforeseen delays and/or problems
 Identify and implement processes, policies and procedures that optimize internal and external customer experience and operational effectiveness of the organization
 Develop and lead initiatives to ensure continuous improvement in operating processes across the team and Engineering organization including establishing best practices that will provide a competitive advantage through NPI, Sustaining Product Support, Lifecycle Data Management, etc.
 Drive a culture of root cause analysis and collaboration to drive appropriate corrective actions regardless of where the problems lie; hold team accountable to use hard data and metrics to support assumptions
 Develop effective and sustainable partnerships with all key stakeholders in support of quality performance metrics through benchmarking, assessments and best practices

Skills and Requirements
Candidate Experience and Qualification:
