Maintenance Supervisor - Pipefitting and Welding
Job Summary
The Marathon Los Angeles -Carson Refinery located in Carson, California has an opening for a Maintenance Supervisor. This position will supervise and lead maintenance work groups, typically of union-represented crafts overseeing Welding, Pipe Lay Out and Boilermaker work . Work collaboratively with other supervisors, planning & scheduling, and reliability teams to develop repair strategies and maintain reliability of refinery plant mechanical equipment in support of continuous operations.

Education, Experience and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
+ Must have a High school diploma or GED. (Education must be obtained/completed prior to start date)
+ Must have a minimum of 10 years of experience as a Pipe and Welding craft skills. Must have strong knowledge of craft skills such as Boilermaker, Pipe Lay Out and Welding in order to lead others.
+ Must have strong knowledge of Safety Standards to lead others safely and identify hazardous situations and develop mitigations
+ Must have good organizational skills to optimize productivity and performance, attention to detail,
+ Must have good interpersonal, communication, leadership and teaching/mentoring skills
+ Must be a team player to work collaboratively and be customer focused.
+ Must be a self-started with a proactive and optimistic approach to work
+ Must be resilient and adaptable while showing enthusiasm in a dynamic work environment.
+ Must be proficient in Microsoft: Word, Excel and Outlook.
+ Must be able to wear appropriate PPE in the refinery (respirator), be able to physically perform all tasks in the field and take hair drug test and physical.
+ Must have a valid driver's license. (MPC determines valid status.)
+ Must be legally authorized to work in the US without the need for future VISA sponsorship.
+ Travel Requirement is 5%.
+ The available schedule is Monday-Thursday - 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM and on-call coverage rotation for one full week including weekends is required approximately every 3 months and has to support work activities after hours when required.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Project Management Methodology is preferred.
+ Previous supervisor experience is preferred
+ Boilermaker and Welding Certifications is preferred
+ Maintenance experience in refinery and/or petrochemical facility is preferred.
