A team member will lead and supervise a team welding technicians performing industrial welding in manufacturing facilities. Must be familiar with welding/fitting. Will always hold team to company and customer performance expectations. Will require some computer skills in Excel, Word and Outlook.

**What Will I Be Doing?**

+ Accept feedback from others, set goals to improve performance based upon this feedback.
+ Inspires and motivates others to perform well.
+ Exhibit objectivity and openness to others' views.

+ **Education:** Welding Certification required. **Experience:**
+ Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in TIG and Stick welding within an industrial environment.
+ Familiarity with pipefitting techniques and applications.
+ At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.

Strong communication and facilitation skills. Proficient in computer systems and software. Able to collaborate effectively across departments and work with individuals at all levels of the organization.

**A Brief Summary of This Position:**
The Welding Supervisor is responsible for the supervision and direction of the site welding team. The incumbent works with suppliers, customers, and site leadership to identify, research, and develop welding and process improvement plans. **Essential Functions:**
+ Reports to the Quality Manager, and dotted line into the Welding Management Team. The position also interfaces regularly with Operations, Quality, ME, IE, and Safety teams.
+ Manages the site level welding team - typically the weld instructor & technician(s)
+ Attends daily production meetings to ensure welding KPI's are met & sustained
+ The ability to travel up to 20% of the time, locally
+ A strong working knowledge of AWS Codes D1.1, D1.2, D1.4, and D1.5, & CSA standards
+ Writes, reviews, approves, and controls welding procedures, work instructions, and other welding documents
+ Interviews welding candidates and determines skill level through evaluation process
+ Incumbent provides one-on-one coaching and training support to new and existing welding staff
+ Assists with Qualification & Training of Welding personnel and associated recordkeeping
+ Provides technical support for customer concerns, third party audits, and site concerns
+ Analyzes QA reports and performs root cause analysis and corrective actions for welding processes

**What You'll Do:**
+ Oversee day-to-day production activities across multiple work centers
+ Drive efficiency and quality using lean manufacturing tools (AMEF, VSM, 6S, SMED, etc.)
+ Monitor and improve KPIs including utilization, productivity, scrap, and rework
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and streamline processes
+ Plan production schedules and manage inventory to meet operational goals
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards (ISO 9000/14000)
+ Use tools like Excel and Microsoft Project to track and report on performance
**What You Bring:**
+ 5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing leadership role
+ Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
+ Working knowledge of CNC programming and statistical process control
+ Strong understanding of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project (or similar tools)

Job Description:
As the continuous improvement technician (hourly), you will rely on your previous manufacturing
experience to drive continuous improvement around the facility, reduce waste in the process,
create and design robust processes, and improve efficiency in the value stream. You will show
improvement through process measurements and documentation, tangible and factual
measurements (time reduction, dollar reduction, downtime reduction, reduction in errors,
reduction in defects, etc). Upon creating a new process, standardized work instructions will be
developed and trained, in order to maintain a sustainable process, all through a focus on the 5S
methodology.
Functional Overview:
You will join the Fall River Commercial Laundry manufacturing engineering team. In each
area, we produce large commercial laundry dryers or washers. You will lead continuous
improvement projects, work in cross-functional teams with materials, engineers, suppliers,
quality, fabrication, programmers, supervisors, and leadership. You will be expected to self
lead your projects, use the Whirlpool tools, document data, and show clear improvements.
You will be required to support production to meet production demands as needed. You will
be required to support lean shop to execute projects as needed.
Additionally,
Responsible for delivering safety, quality, delivery and cost metrics for the assigned area.
Perform safety/CAL investigations and report on findings and countermeasures.
Execute standard work development and audits.
Communicate key issues and provide day-to-day coaching of operators.
Act as the first step in the help chain.
Focus on developing line operators.
Provide daily documentation of key metrics and information.
