Job Description

Welding Robot Operator

Wieland is hiring a Welding Robot Operator. The welding robot operator will be responsible for the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of welded metal components by operating, setting up, and maintaining automated robotic welding systems. This role is located in Delaware, OH and will be fully on-site.

Starting Pay: $30 per hour

Schedule: 1st shift Monday- Thursday (6am - 4:30pm) and 2nd shift Monday- Thursday (4pm - 2:30am)

Pay Schedule: Bi-weekly

Responsibilities
  • Following the production orders, prepare parts and assemble components into assemblies by teaching the robot and executing robotic welding.
  • Execute welds in accordance with company's procedures and documents, while meeting defined quality standards.
  • Maintain equipment in proper functioning status by applying preventative maintenance, diagnosing, troubleshooting and repairing minor malfunctions as needed.
  • Inspecting finished welds for conformance to specifications.
  • Verifying and documenting welding processes and any variations.
  • Propose new methods, procedures, or equipment to improve efficiency and/or quality.
Qualifications
  • At least 3 years' experience in robot operation robotic welding strongly preferred.
  • Experience and certification in welding in accordance with ASME standard a plus.
  • Ability to read and apply WPS and read drawings.
  • Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.
  • Methodical, organized, and precise.
  • Proactive in proposing solutions

  • Experience of Welding Codes - Interprets the codes in the welding industry by using the right code within an operation in a design for technical or manufacturing to be compliant with industry regulations.
  • Experience of Welding Processes - Demonstrates experience of the multiple welding processes used within the organization by properly designing for the appropriate manufacturing process to produce process robustness for quality and cost effectiveness.
  • Experience of Welding Automation - Identifies the proper types of automated welding processes to be used by integrating them into the design, and process control in the manufacturing of a part or component to ensure quality into the process.
  • Welding definition - Experience in defining welded joint requirements and design of experiment (DoE) plans to develop the welding parameters.
  • Drawing Interpretation - Integrates product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings to support the design and development of an optimal manufacturing process that meets product design specifications.
