Position Summary:
The Wellness Director will assist the Executive Director in maintaining the standards set forth in the Oaks Senior Living Policy & Procedures and the Department of Community Health's regulations for the care, provide watchful oversight, and ensure the well-being of our residents. The Wellness Director will ensure the provision of quality resident care and promote the residents' health and wellness through regular visits, resident assessment, and ongoing communication with the resident, the resident's representative(s), and the resident's care team.

Qualifications:

  • Current Georgia LPN or RN license. Maintain CPR certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with residents in a long-term care setting.
  • Ability to respond during off-duty hours to questions and emergencies as scheduled.
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with older adults. Desire to work with older adults.
    Supervisory experience in healthcare preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age. Must have a satisfactory criminal history check.
  • Must have physical exam by a licensed physician. Must have a negative drug screen.
  • Must be able to react in an emergency situation.

The Wellness Director is responsible for providing overall leadership and management of the health and well-being of the residents within the community. Responsibilities include but are not limited to all clinical programs, quality assurance and regulatory compliance; assisting in the training and on-boarding of clinical and care coordinator team members. The Wellness Director is also responsible for assisting and partnering with the Regional Director of Resident Care to provide Medication Care Manager training (in states where allowed.


Requirements:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/LICENSURE - CERTIFICATION

Must be a Licensed Practical Nurse

Must have a minimum of 2 years department management experience working with elders or disabled individuals

Must have demonstrated Leadership capabilities

Multi-department experience strongly recommended

Knowledge and experience in Assisted Living industry and Dementia care or Skilled Nursing

**Job Summary**
**FISD is searching for a Full-Time Regional Wellness Director, based in the San Francisco Bay Area in CA! This position is remote + travel to about 25 accounts in several states.**
The **Regional Wellness Director** is responsible for all nutrition and wellness information and activity in the assigned region; develops, supports, coordinates, measures and analyzes nutrition and wellness initiatives; manages and evaluates the provision of nutrition education, training and guidance; and, works with account leaders, district managers, chefs and marketing managers to promote and support nutrition goals, objectives, strategies and policies to develop and provide nutrition resources and to ensure compliance with FDA nutrition labeling laws.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Assesses client, customer and operator needs; customizes and coordinates nutrition and wellness programs and initiatives.
+ Establishes relationships and maintains partnerships with school health and wellness program/initiative designees.
+ Assesses regional needs and develops/ provides regional best practice materials for health fairs, lunch and learns, program launches, client meetings, school wellness events, tastings, etc. Monitors and benchmarks best practices across region.
+ Conducts, monitors and analyzes audit data and site visit reports to ensure region and account performance against wellness standards; develops corrective action plans with wellness coordinators, wellness managers and dining directors; monitors and enforces corrective action on wellness and sustainability standards, nutrition policies, labeling laws and food allergy management.
+ Assesses opportunities to use technology and marketing innovations to help drive wellness. Creates regional action plans for implementation.
+ Assists leadership team in the following: overall planning and direction to achieve operations and financial goals; maintaining effective client rapport; and, overseeing all P&L and budgeting as it pertains to the accounts and the region.
+ Monitors, assesses and increases Webtrition usage and compliance within assigned accounts; holds units in region accountable for using Webtrition recipes in daily food production.
+ Supervises one part-time school dietitian who presents training and events in schools.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Credentialed as a Registered Dietitian by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
+ Licensed by the State Dietetics Licensing Board in states where applicable required.
+ Master's degree preferred.
+ Five (5) years of professional experience as a Registered Dietitian required.
+ One (1) of Wellness experience preferred.
+ Serve-Safe certification preferred. If not certified, must obtain certification within twelve (12) weeks from date of hire.
+ Culinary and/or Food Service experience preferred.
+ Ability to travel up to 50% required.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Servant Leadership directs all aspects of decision making
  • Conducts resident evaluations in a prompt and timely matter according to state regulations and Watercrest policies and procedures
  • Oversees and is responsible for all aspects of medication, including but not limited to; orders, administration, storage, documentation and as mandated by the State Regulations and Guidelines as well as Company policy and procedure
  • Responsible for ensuring medications are placed on the MOR in a timely manner
  • Periodically, or as mandated, reviews compliance for those that self-administer medications
  • Assure that all resident care specialists are familiar with the residents’ individual conditions and are trained to provide the resident services in an effective, professional and sensitive manner
  • Monitors resident wellness care for compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Monitors and maintains vital statistics as required
  • Makes recommendations for quality improvement, infection control and department enhancements
  • Ensures in house ancillary services, such as x-rays, podiatry, dental, eye care, psych visits etc. are scheduled and the appropriate follow up is completed
  • Monitors and reviews daily charting by licensed staff
  • Maintains / monitors care plans for all residents
  • Conducts training classes, on-the-job training and orientation programs for all associates
  • Review direct report associate time punches in payroll system as necessary
  • Process bi-weekly payroll for department associates
  • Participate in the recruitment and selection of wellness associates
  • Respond in a timely manner to requests of residents, families and guests

  • Completes and/or monitors incident and accident reports
  • Participates in meetings with third party providers regularly
  • Ensures Limited Nursing Services are completed and documented as required according to state regulations (state applicable)

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Able to communicate effectively with all levels of management, team members, residents, family members, guests, vendors, referral sources, and outside contacts
  • Able to manage revenue and expense budget
  • Able to make independent decisions
  • Must be able to communicate in a warm, friendly and caring manner
  • Must be familiar with and adhere to guidelines related to the Fair Housing Act (FHA) and the American with Disabilities Act (ADA)
  • Must possess a passion to work with and around senior citizens

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Two (2) years in the senior living, assisted living, memory care environment
  • Strong leadership skills with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience in supervising and management

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met to successfully perform the essential functions of this position:
  • Able to stand or walk 75% of the day
  • Able to concentrate with frequent interruptions
  • Able to work under stress and in emergency situations
  • Able to work under conditions that require sitting, standing, walking, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping
  • Able to talk and hear effectively in order to convey instructions and information to residents and team members
  • Occasionally lift/carry up to 50 pounds

OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE / PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:

  • Work in all areas of the community
  • Subject to reactions from dust, disinfectants and cleaning chemicals and may be exposed to infectious waste, diseases and other conditions
  • Use personal protective equipment and supplies when needed to prevent burns, falls, and infection
  • Personal protective equipment includes infection control kit, rubber gloves and non-slip shoes
