The pay range for this position in California, Washington, Colorado, and New York at the commencement of employment is expected to be between $68,200 - $106,500. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. The Health and Wellness Specialist helps client employees make positive and lasting changes to their health. The Health and Wellness Specialist guides employees through the process of creating a vision for their health and well-being, developing a healthy mindset and healthy habits, and encouraging them along the journey to sustaining great health. This position impacts lives on the personal level, as well as positively changes health care spend for companies away from reactive toward proactive prevention.
Health and Wellness Specialists are responsible for development, promotion and implementation of health and wellness programming, tracking and monitoring program delivery, facilitating individualized and company-wide assessments, interaction documentation, outcomes reporting, return on investment reporting and client program evaluation and improvement. Health and Wellness Specialists are also expected to promote other aspects of AWS programs such as early reporting of injuries to our onsite early intervention specialists and physical resiliency and mobility programs.
As a part of the AWS team, the Health and Wellness Specialist will be asked to take ownership of his/her responsibilities while always looking for ways to improve the services that we deliver to our clients. Summary:
The Health and Wellness Specialist is responsible for educating the individuals and staff at CDS Monarch on good health principles and practices, assisting with their implementation, functions as an Interdisciplinary Treatment Team member, and ensure compliance with all applicable OPWDD and Article 16 standards and regulations. The Health and Wellness Specialist will support Article 16 Clinical staff in providing staff training on Individual Plan of Care (IPOCs) and Conditions (i.e., dining, exercise, transfers, ambulation, etc.)., attend clinical meetings and relay clinical concerns to the appropriate clinical staff, support Article 16 staff with therapy appointments, and work with individuals in groups or in 1:1 settings when appropriate to promote and implement healthy habits.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides health counseling, education, and consultation regarding general health habits for the individuals, including diet and exercise to the individuals, staff, family, as necessary.
- Attends site clinical meetings to provide staff training on IPOCs/conditions, adaptive equipment, and nutritional related care and relay clinical related questions to the clinical team via the indirect referral process.
- Supports therapists (OT/PT/SLP) as they work with the individuals in the Article 16 clinic by providing hands-on assistance when needed.
- Monitor and encourage our individuals to complete their prescribed home exercise programs in conjunction with their direct therapy sessions.
- Complete wheelchair clinics, repairs, and indirect referrals when appropriate, in conjunction with the OT/PT team.
- Lead group exercise activities both residentially and at programs, including in the pool.
- Assists individuals with making it to their OT/PT/ST therapy appointments as scheduled.
- Aids Clinic Coordinator and therapists with patient intake process by reviewing intake documentation and reaching out to appropriate parties to ensure completion.
- Instructs training classes on proper body mechanics and use of mechanical lifts in conjunction with the OT/PT team.
- Complete staff trainings on mealtime safety procedures, including food safety and sanitation, in conjunction with the SLP team.
- Regularly reviews all modified or special diets and weights.
- Attends individual reviews when clinical input is required or requested by the Individual’s treatment team.
- Conduct meal observations as assigned or requested, in conjunction with the SLP team.
- Participates/consults in developing outcomes and methods to address nutritional problems or needs.
- Ensure all individuals living within our residential homes have an annual order.
- Ensure the provision of nutritionally adequate meals or nourishment, including adherence to prescribed diets.
- Approve residential menus and ensure menus are available to staff, including those with modified or special diets for each meal.
- Assists in the development of clinical support policies and update as requested.
- Adheres to all agency and program policies and procedures.
- Assists with internal and external audits as needed.
- Participate in committees and program development, as indicated.
- Instructs, enhances, and develops staff training programs for employees.
- Provided education on diet orders and specialized diets, heart diabetes, etc.
- Performs all other necessary duties relevant to the position as requested by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education and Experience:

**POSITION SUMMARY:**
Reporting to the Safety, Health and Environmental Manager, the Occupational Health & Wellness Specialist is entrusted to support factory safety activities, work to improve overall employee health and wellness, and promote the health and safety of the employees in the workplace.
**PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:**
Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Provide clinical care, nursing assessments and interventions with a focus on promoting and restoring health, preventing injury and illnesses and protecting workers from occupational and environmental hazards
+ Management of work related injuries and illnesses
+ Manage factory's Worker's Compensation program and prepare reports and updates of regulatory logs for safety and worker's compensation programs.
+ Participate in assessments and work area evaluations (i.e. Ergonomic task analysis and work stations)
+ Lead the Transitional Work Program and develop return to work strategies following serious injuries or periods of prolonged illness.
+ Represent Nestle as the Workers' Compensation Administrator for the factory and act as a liaison for the Company with local physicians, other health care agencies and third party administrators for worker's compensation claims
+ Maintain confidential medical records to include pre-employment medical exams and drug screening process
+ Provide a range of health and safety related training, as needed.

+ Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois
