**Responsibilities:**
+ Provide technology leadership and lead the development of complex end-to-end technology solutions involving devices/CPEs, access, transport, core, and backend systems.
+ Assess new product requirements and develop technology solutions and architecture design to support them.
+ Test and certify new Small Cells, Home/SMB Routers, Wireless APs (Access Points), Wireless Access Gateways (WAGs), and Controllers for field deployment.
+ Work with Operations to resolve WiFi and mobile access network issues that may impact the business and/or customers.
+ Provide guidelines and technical leadership for the development of tools and processes to support new products, technology solutions, testing, and validation.
+ Validate technology capabilities through lab evaluations and field trials.
+ Drive innovative technologies and approaches (e.g., 802.11ad/ay, UWB, BNC, Mesh Network) to improve performance, reliability, and customer Quality of Experience (QoE).
+ Support new wireless technologies and initiatives, including improving network security, virus detection, virtualization of network functions, and new applications and services.
+ Support efforts to maximize the performance of Spectrum WiFi (public WiFi infrastructure).
+ Develop tools and processes for engineering design, testing, and certification of new technology solutions and products.
+ Review designs, code, and unit test plans where applicable.
+ Participate in RFPs/RFIs, hardware/software evaluations, and vendor contract negotiations.
**Experience Requirements:**
+ 7+ years of experience in Wireless Technology Development & Management with top MSOs, Telcos, satellite operators, or major U.S. wireless vendors.
+ BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent; MBA preferred.

We are looking for a Network Engineer to join our Viasat Government group! In this exciting role, you will be responsible for supporting the design, maintenance, and modernization of a critical global satellite communications system! You will be updating the network equipment hardware and software in both a lab and production environment. As a Network Engineer on the Fixed Wireless Team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day support and assistance of the Fixed Wireless fleet and backend network architecture, which includes supporting 34,000+ GE Orbit routers, 180 Sierra Wireless routers, and 200 Cradlepoint routers. This also includes updating and developing process and troubleshooting documentation, ad-hoc and onsite training to support groups, network device management, equipment lifecycle management, and performing 24x7 on-call support every 3 rd week or as needed.
**General Job Responsibilities:**
+ Perform on-call duties as assigned
+ Work with Field Operations Technicians to resolve Fixed UE issues
+ Provide excellent customer service to meet or exceed service level agreements or priorities
