The successful candidate will bring real-world expertise into the classroom, preparing students for careers in the hunting, fishing, and outdoor adventure industry.

**Key Responsibilities:**

**Minimum Qualifications**
+ BS degree and 7+ years of documented managerial experience in hunting, fishing, or wildlife-based outdoor business OR a MS degree with 2+ years of professional experience in wildlife-based business operations, outdoor recreation management, or hospitality services OR a PhD degree in Wildlife Management, Natural Resources, Business, Hospitality, Outdoor Recreation, or a related field with experience in consumptive use recreation at the time employment begins.

**Natural Resources Scientist/Regulatory Specialist** Aptim Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC, a leading engineering firm with a global presence and a thriving coastal engineering practice, is pleased to announce an immediate opening a mid- to senior- level Natural Resources Scientist/Regulatory Specialist. The candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of biological monitoring and regulatory permitting projects which include characterizing hardbottom, seagrass, coastal and wetland habitats as well as leading the procurement of local, state and federal regulatory permits for coastal restoration projects. The candidate will perform tasks under the direction of a senior marine biologist through all phases of projects including the initial planning and design, permit applications, permit request for additional information, monitoring, data analysis, pre- during and post-construction permit compliance activities and report development. **Key Responsibilities:** + Complete, submit, and manage local, state and federal regulatory permit applications for coastal restoration projects including scheduling and hosting pre-application meetings with various regulatory agencies. + Negotiate permit conditions for coastal restoration projects. + Implement pre-construction, during construction, and post-construction permit compliance including scheduling and hosting pre-construction and during construction meetings. + Support development of Federal NEPA documentation required for federal permitting of coastal restoration projects. + Conduct biological monitoring field work with a focus on hardbottom and seagrass habitats. + Comfortably conduct SCUBA diving and snorkeling field work operations from a mid-side (<30') boat. + Organize and analyze biological data to prepare clear and concise biological reports and technical documentation. + Work collaboratively in a team-based environment. + Prioritize and accomplish multiple assignments efficiently and effectively with limited supervision. + Travel within the United States to project sites. + Other work activities include field planning, project management, and other mid-level duties. **Qualifications:** + 5-10 years of experience in environmental consulting or related field. + 3 years relevant field work experience. + Project management experience preferred. + Bachelor's Degree in biology or related scientific field. + Master's Degree in marine biology or related scientific field preferred. + SCUBA certification required, preferably advanced or rescue level. Role with Agency: Member of the CCNB Management Team

Budgetary Responsibility: Natural Resources department budget

Employment Status: Exempt from wage and hour laws

Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday 6:45am-4:15pm, every other Friday 7am-3:30pm Some evenings and weekends may be required.

SUMMARY

The Natural Resources Program Manager oversees elements of the Natural Resources department and is a member of the Conservation Corps North Bay (CCNB) management team. The Natural Resources Program Manager will take a leadership role in programmatic, operational, and administrative aspects of Natural Resources programs including: hiring and managing staff members, developing and overseeing Natural Resources department policies and practices, facilitating communication and integration of Natural Resources programs with CCNB's other programming, creating a positive atmosphere to encourage learning and high quality project completion, collaborating with other department staff to ensure the successful planning and execution of field projects, planning and organizing safety and training programs, ensuring the successful completion of all departmental administrative functions, and tracking the department's budget. The position also supports the Director of Natural Resources by carrying out special projects as assigned and keeping the Director of Natural Resources apprised of the status of the Natural Resources programs in Marin and Sonoma Counties.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES (include, but are not limited to):

  • Build and maintain strong Natural Resources programs in Marin and Sonoma County. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and performance of Natural Resources programs, activities, and services, ensuring that program goals are met.
  • Collaborate with the Senior Manager of Natural Resources – PartnershipsProjects, Natural Resources Coordinators, and Director of Natural Resources to successfully meet field project objectives.
  • Produce internal and external reports and communications materials in a timely and professional manner. Ensure all deliverables, budgetary and other requirements are met and reported accurately.
  • Manage department personnel in a manner that ensures all CCNB policies and procedures are followed.
  • Oversee the successful completion of all administrative functions within the Natural Resources department, including PayCom, crew output logs, case records in Salesforce, organization and maintenance of project photos, and more. Review administrative tasks completed by field staff for accuracy and take corrective action as needed.
  • Member of CCNB's Safety Committee. Oversee the successful implementation of safety program in collaboration with Natural Resources staff and CCNB's Safety Officer to proactively address safety concerns.
  • Design and maintain staff and corpsmember training programs that align with industry best practices for field-based skills (chainsaw, chipper, fire fuel reduction, trail construction and maintenance, habitat restoration, construction and carpentry, etc.). Oversee the effective implementation of training programs.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources staff to ensure staffing meets current and projected project needs.
  • Assist in the creation of the Natural Resources department annual budget. Review and analyze budget updates throughout the year to direct spending plans.
  • Collaborate with CCNB's Operations Department and assess needs related to Natural Resources tools, equipment, fleet, and facilities to create plans for procedures, security, procurement, maintenance, and improvements.
  • Collaborate with all CCNB departments regarding Natural Resources programs, corpsmember performance, career opportunities, and interdepartmental initiatives.
  • Provide short-term or long-term coverage of Natural Resources Coordinator duties, as needed.
  • Actively participate as a member of CCNB's Management Team to make organizational decisions and engage in company-wide initiatives and goals. Collaboratively resolve company-wide issues that emerge.
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Four or more years of experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a nonprofit or environmental organization.
  • Experience and technical skills in natural resources management work such as habitat restoration, fire fuel reduction, trail construction and maintenance, stream maintenance and restoration, and erosion control.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent skills in time management, prioritization, and administrative functions. Experience with Microsoft Office suite, especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience developing budgets and managing expenditures for a variety of funding sources including fee-for-service contracts and grants.
  • Strong commitment to CCNB's mission and organizational values, and a proven ability to work with people from a wide variety of social, economic and educational backgrounds. Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and mediate disputes.
  • Must have superior communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively represent CCNB with partner organizations, in the community, and in written reports and communications materials.
  • Experience in supervising, training, and educating young adults and staff members. Knowledge of state and federal labor laws and general human resource practices.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and OSHA regulations related to natural resources management, landscaping, construction, and working in wilderness locations.
  • Clean driving record and possession of a CA Class C driver's license.
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, ecology, earth sciences, sustainability, public policy, business, education, or a related field.
  • Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, C27 Landscape Contractor license and act as the organization's Responsible Managing Employee is a plus.

The Natural Resources Program Manager sometimes works outdoors around equipment and machinery, walking on uneven ground and steep hillsides, with exposure to excessive noise, fumes and extremes in temperature. They may be expected to lift and move objects weighing up to 75 lbs. and carry objects at least ½ mile. This position frequently uses special visual and auditory protective equipment. While performing the duties of this position, the Natural Resources Program Manager is required to walk and stand; sit and bend; squat and climb; kneel and twist; to talk or hear. Able to use hands to perform simple and power grasping, and fine manipulation; to push and pull.

Additionally, there are normal office working conditions and associated physical demands. For example, on a continuous basis, sit at a desk using a computer and in meetings for long periods of time. Intermittently twist to reach equipment surrounding desk.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The Natural Resources Program Manager position is a full-time, exempt position which is eligible for a full benefits package (Medical, Dental, Vision, Chiropractic, 403(b), and Paid Time Off). Salary for this position starts at $85,000-95,000.

This position is eligible for a discretionary bonus of up to $,000 gross, paid as 2,500 after six months of satisfactory performance and 2,500 after one year of continued employment in good standing.

We are now seeking experienced professionals in the Great Plains and Midwest, especially those with hands-on experience with complex natural resources permitting experience, to join our firm as Natural Resources Consulting Director.

We are looking for established leaders who combine strong consulting and business development skills with a solid technical foundation and a track record of leading high performing teams to sell and deliver world-class services and outcomes. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to manage a team of technical professionals and foster, expand and leverage a network of excellent client relationships with a focused set of renewable energy organizations, and drive the continued growth of ERM’s business through recruiting and developing our next generation of leaders.

ROLE PROFILE

Your primary focus will be on team development, sales and services growth, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM’s consulting services to deliver strategic value to our clients in the power and energy industries. In particular, you will play a key role in growing ERM’s Capital Project Development services business by:

  • Building, growing and managing a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants.
  • Contribute to delivery of projects, including strategic and tactical management of delivery teams, providing technical oversight and review of deliverables, and client and stakeholder facing project meetings.
  • Meeting business health & safety performance standards, financial targets, overall project budgets and schedules, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal risk management and contractual requirements.
  • Developing new client relationships and expanding existing relationships with target clients by delivering strategic consulting advice, excellent value, and quality service.
  • Working with ERM’s Partners and client Account Directors to implement client and market segment specific consulting programs for the region.

QUALIFICATIONS & DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  • BS in biology, ecology, environmental management, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 9+ years of experience in environmental consulting, environmental impact assessment, or equivalent experience within natural resources surveys and permitting.
  • Experience in the delivery of multifaceted permitting programs for energy projects. Including Endangered Species Act Section 10 and Section 7 permitting, and Eagle Conservation Plans and Take Permits.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and permitting requirements and compliance management as they relate to power generation (including renewable energy), and electrical transmission.
  • Excellent writing, communication, organization, time, and team management skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines and inspire teams in a demanding work environment.
  • Extensive experience working and leading as part of an integrated team providing technical deliverables for input into regulatory applications.
  • Experience providing strategic guidance to support clients navigating the regulatory process.
  • Experience providing direction to client consulting teams regarding application content requirements to contribute to successful regulatory reviews.
  • Strong commitment to safety, including following established health and safety protocols.

Your Opportunity
An opportunity exists for highly motivated, well organized, and entrepreneurial Senior Environmental Consultant to grow their career as a Group Lead building an Environmental Assessment and Permitting practice in Georgia and adjacent areas of the Gulf. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to our clients and collaborate with our staff on a variety of projects and actively pursue new opportunities while maintaining existing client relationships. In addition to regularly interacting with clients and participating in business development activities, daily work will also include developing proposals, mentoring staff, driving our quality and health and safety program, and lending your regulatory expertise to deliver to our clients.
The team works across various industries, including residential and commercial permitting, mitigation/conservation banking, water resources, roadways, natural gas pipelines, LNG facilities, solar facilities, and energy.
This position offers flexibility, allowing you to be based at any Stantec office in Georgia or adjacent states, with the option for a hybrid or remote work schedule.
Your Key Responsibilities
Growth
- Lead and support sales for procurements on strategic opportunities, including client identification, client relationship development, opportunities identification and advancement, and proposals development
- Collaborate with National and Regional leaders to prioritize and plan areas of focus and recruiting/hiring
- Lead geographic and service expansion growth for Natural Resources, including but not limited to Georgia, Alabama, and the broader Gulf Region

Natural Resources and Assessment and Permitting
- Lead growth of the Natural Resource and Assessment and Permitting businesses in the Gulf Coast Region

- Manage and provide technical leadership for strategic Environmental Services projects
- Work collaboratively with the North America O&G/Energy, Transportation, Community Development, and Water Business Sectors to grow and strengthen client relationships and develop new opportunities with these internal and external clients
- Assess strengths, challenges, and areas of need within the Natural Resources and Assessment and Permitting function, and develop solution-oriented strategies in collaboration with other regional leaders and Sectors
Environmental Services Senior Account Management
- Serve as a senior assessment and permitting leader and business developer for clients and opportunities in the Gulf Coast and nationally. Serve as technical lead/support on projects as appropriate.
- Serve as senior permitting leader for select key Oil, Gas & Energy (O, G &E) and other accounts as needed
- Serve as a key leader on the Kinder Morgan account management team, and on other select key O, G &E national accounts
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Demonstrated ability to successfully lead diverse project teams and manage large complex environmental projects.
- Local, state, and Federal compliance and environmental assessment and permitting (including agency coordination) experience with Georgia state agencies.
- Knowledge of the informational requirements of key permits at the local, state, national, and federal level (e.g. United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), NEPA, Endangered Species Act (ESA), Section 404 CWA/Section 10 Rivers and Harbors Act (RHA), Georgia Department of Natural Resources (GDNR) Erosion and Sediment Rules and Regulations, United States Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) and GDNR Wildlife Resources Division (WRD) Species evaluations and coordination).
- Understanding of USACE Savannah District mitigation standard operating procedures, or Georgia Stream Buffer Variance processes, or Georgia Department of Transportation data collection and reporting procedures.
- Previous experience performing wetland delineations and habitat evaluations for protected species.
- Business development expertise in the natural resources, residential, and commercial sectors across the Southeastern U.S. to drive significant growth and opportunities.
- An enthusiastic attitude to collaborate with others and be a key part of a team focused on building a regional permitting program.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in environmental science, biological resources or closely related field.
- Minimum of 15 years' experience providing or managing technical services in a professional services setting, preferable in the Southeastern US (experience in Georgia is required).
- 5 years' experience in a client facing role (including business development and/or client management).
- A professional certification (Professional Wetland Scientist, Project Manager Professional, Professional Wildlife Biologist, Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission-Georgia Environmental Protection Division Erosion and Sediment, etc.), preferred.
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
