As a Wireless Engineer you will be responsible for troubleshooting the customers' LAN and Wireless infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting of switching and wireless equipment needed to supply connectivity to all areas of the site. The wireless engineer will have to work closely with the support team and the customer in order to ensure that the problem has been resolved. The role might include oversight of staging/configuration team, which is in place to stage and configure all switches and wireless equipment in preparation processes. This position's working hours will be 6am-2:30pm Monday-Friday. This is a full-time opportunity that will require travel throughout the Chicagoland area.

CCNA preferred
• 1+ years' experience with network integration or network support

As a Wireless Engineer you will be working with a variety of technology tools and systems to implement and maintain WAN/LAN systems. This role is part of a team that improves the customer's large-scale IT environment with SLRs/SLAs for high availability and uptime. The Wireless Engineer manages, maintains, plans, schedules, integrates, and troubleshoots the overall network and its devices-WANs, LANs, WLANs, VPNs, VoIP, etc.-and monitors network health. As a Senior Wireless Engineer, you will provide technical leadership and expert-level engineering support for the planning, design, implementation, and sustainment of secure wireless network systems. This role plays a critical part in delivering mission-ready wireless infrastructure that supports enterprise mobility, smart base initiatives, and high-availability communications. This position leads complex wireless projects from requirements through deployment, overseeing RF design, performance optimization, and cybersecurity compliance. Major Job Activities:

• Leads implementation of architectural vision for all Wi-Fi access points and control-related services across BAN.

• Understands requirements; plans optimal Wi-Fi designs for spectrum usage and device placement.

• Follows standards for all designs and implementations.

• Installs, configures, and maintains wireless network equipment, network management, and security, including 802.11 b/g/n/ac standards and industry best practices for implementing high-density Wi-Fi solutions.

• Devises, plans, deploys, and improves wireless networks, from the beginning to implementation, by collaborating with vendors, managers, and network engineers.

• Leads and guides junior engineers.

• Self-starter with assigned tasks.

• Understands client requirements to cater to their appropriate needs.

• Uses tools to evaluate, test, and tweak wireless products, such as routers, switches, hubs, bridges, VPNs, and network amplifiers.

• Designs and validates the performance, quality, and reliability of the RF link.

• Designs and implements WLANs and other wireless networks.

• Writes manuals and documents current network procedures.

• Has extensive knowledge of routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP).

Qualifications
