**Responsibilities**
**Work Schedule:**
**Full Time:** 5 days per week (40hrs) Monday - Friday, 9 hours between 7:00am and 4:30pm, with a 30 minute or one hour lunch.
No Call, No Weekends, No Holidays!
**Job Specific Position Duties:** The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
**Core Duties:**
+ Provide a full range of outcome-based nurse practitioner services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
+ Technically direct and teach other staff, provide evidenced-based educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
+ Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
+ Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
+ Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
+ Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
+ Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement and safety.
**Additional Duties / Scope of Practice:**
May be granted clinical privileges to provide primary ambulatory healthcare to both obstetrical and gynecological patients. Clinical privileges include:
+ Diagnose and manage acute episodic and chronic illnesses, minor traumas and behavioral/psychological problems related to women's health. Teach, counsel and advise patients, families and communities about current health status, illness(es), and health promotion and disease prevention activities appropriate for age and condition.
+ Perform well woman exams, comprehensive family planning counseling, infertility evaluations and sexually transmitted infections care.
+ Perform initial obstetrical visits and routine prenatal and post partum care for low risk pregnancies.
+ Perform therapeutic procedures as defined and approved on the provider privileges list; and initiate and evaluate treatment regimens which may include prescribing and dispensing medications appropriate for privileged scope of care.
+ May perform additional skills such as colposcopy, limited ultrasound, and contraceptive implant insertions/removals, based on appropriate education and training.
+ May act independently in areas of demonstrated competency within their designated scope of practice
+ May work as sole provider with physician consultation available as described below if these specific privileges have been granted
Supervision:
+ WHNPs must have physician (privileged for the same scope of practice) consultation available either in person, by phone, or electronic means when they are performing ambulatory clinic direct patient care activities.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
*** Degree:** Master's degree in nursing or Advance Certification (Certificate of Authority)
*** Education:** Graduate from an academic program, within the nursing specialty field of study that is accredited by a regional or national nursing accrediting agency recognized by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Master's degree must be from anapproved OB/GYN or women's health nurse practitioner program or Advance Certification (Certificate of Authority) acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General.
*** Licensure:** Current, full, active, and unrestricted NP license from any state.
*** Clinical Certification:** Women's Health Nurse Practitioner certification with the National Certification Corporation (NCC) for Obstetrics, Gynecologic, and Neonatal Nursing Specialties

**Base Down Days:**
During a planned closure of the facility due to training, closures before or after holidays, or family down days, the employee will only be compensated for the actual hours worked. If the clinic is closed and the employee is not able to work, the employee will be required to use leave or take LWOP (without penalty).
**SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS**
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Must be able and willing to reprioritize on short notice and work on multiple simultaneous projects. + Knowledgeable of pharmacological agents used in patient treatment, to include desired effects, side effects, and complications/contraindications for their use. Demonstrate ability to administer pharmacologic agents and accurately compute dosage calculations as Knowledge of the administrative requirements for proper documentation of patient's condition including disease progress, acknowledgement of teaching, and follow up care.
+ Knowledgeable on computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and automated medical records.
+ Skilled in setting up, operating and monitoring specialized medical equipment such as IV infusion pumps, cardiac monitoring devices, EKG units, oxygen analyzers, suction equipment, nebulizers, fetal heart rate monitors, and other unit specific equipment.
+ Have the ability to interpret fetal heart tracing or will enroll in a class within 6 weeks of hire to obtain this formal training in fetal heart rate monitoring

The Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services to women across their lifespan. The WHNP will conduct thorough assessments, develop individualized care plans, and provide education to empower patients in making informed health decisions. Collaboration with other healthcare professionals is essential to ensure a holistic approach to patient care. Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing with a specialization in Women's Health.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license and certification in Women's Health.
  • At least two years of clinical experience in a women's health setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum 1 year experience as NP
  • Graduated from approved Nurse Practitioner Program.
  • Licensed as Nurse Practitioner in New York State.
  • Basic CPR (BCLS) certification required.
  • Specialty Certification Preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish or Creole preferred.
  • Experience in telehealth services and remote patient management.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and physical examinations for female patients.
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic health conditions, including reproductive health issues.
  • Provide counseling and education on topics such as family planning, prenatal care, and menopause management.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient-centered care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Involved with direct patient physical assessment, education, and health planning.
  • Assists in the coordination of services with other disciplines and patient’s insurance plans.
  • Advocates for patient in arrangement of medically necessary services.
  • Communicates with community’s resources to ascertain adequate assistance for patients in need.
  • Refers patients to specialty services when necessary.
  • Consults with collaborating physician and other members of the health care team to establish plan of care.
  • Participate in LEAN and other activities necessary to implement the multi-disciplinary patient-centered medical home approach for the care of patients
  • Maintains continuity of care by regular patient follow-up.
  • Participates in quality assurance process to assure optimal care delivery.
  • Provides comprehensive case management services that include emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention.
  • Monitors patient outcome in accordance with the practice protocols;
  • Collaborates with staff nurses and nursing administrators with assessment and clinical decision in patient care planning.
  • Acts as a resource person for the nursing staff.
  • Conducts education in service on practice issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

This is a growing Women's Specialty office that serves the communities' needs, includes Magee Womens Bladder and Magee Womens Pelvic and Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery.
Must have either completed Medical Assistant training or previously been a Medical Assistant to be considered for this role.

Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
No holidays or weekends!
Travel will be required 75% of the time.
Home office will be located in Mechanicsburg; there is mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities:
+ Guides workflow and/or assigns tasks to other clinical staff.
+ Participates with creation and implementation of departmental goals, processes and procedures.
+ Mentors, orients and provides ongoing training to current and new staff members.
+ Serve as the department super user for Epic Care.
+ Work directly with Manager to identify opportunities for improvement with regards to Clinical/Non-Clinical functions, Infection Control Procedures, and Patient Assessments.
+ Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in all practice category specific tasks.
+ Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations.
+ Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.
+ Complete forms/requisitions as needed.
+ Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
+ Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately.
+ Other front office responsibilities, as required.
+ Clean and prepare exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control.
+ Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms.
+ Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.
+ Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines.
+ May provide more individualized patient/family education and supportive counseling as needed.
+ Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed.
+ Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate.
+ Perform phlebotomy, EKG's, and level one labs.
+ Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure.
+ Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health).
+ Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Comply with all UPMC Health System policies and procedures.
Medical Assistant, Senior:
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Successful completion of Medical Assistant Program or equivalent hospital program (LPN/RN/EMT)
+ OR successful completion of certification examination (AMT, AAMA, NAHP, NCCT or NHA)
+ OR at least 1-year prior patient care experience required.
+ Must be responsible and demonstrate proficiency in three practice category specific tasks
+ Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities.
Preferences:
+ Medical Assistant certification
+ Previous Medical Assistant experienceLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
