This paid internship offers hands-on experience in utility billing systems and process automation. Typical intern responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

GENERAL FUNCTION: Execute complex, multiple line of business, breakthrough process, improvement initiatives which support the Bank's strategic focus areas. Work with LOB and functional partners to plan, develop, manage, implement, track benefits for improvement projects which deliver operational efficiency, expense savings, improved customer experience, revenue growth, enhanced quality, and/or regulatory excellence. Position requires a blend of business process analysis, data analysis, project management, change management, and team leadership. This role is responsible for mentoring others in applying the Lean Six Sigma methodology and using tools. Reports to the Process Optimization Director. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience all while operating within the Bank's risk appetite. Achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Execute Lean Six Sigma projects which deliver process improvements for the Bank, with measureable impact that is either financial (hard or soft savings, revenue) or strategic.
+ Drive focus and accountability in alignment with the Bank's strategic focus areas, working seamlessly across the lines of business and functions to maximize the return for the organization.
+ Develop comprehensive project plans for assigned projects, including: deliverables, milestones, target dates, owners, dependencies, and other relevant information.
+ Partner with lines of business and other functional business partners to execute the implementation of process improvement projects.
+ Provide a cross-functional perspective; initiate and lead the appropriate level of collaboration.
+ Work with the LOB and Finance to track the impact of projects.
+ Record project activity for progress reporting.
+ Develop and maintain project charters which indicate a primary measure of success with a baseline and target value, and secondary constraint measure, where applicable.
+ Serve as a consultative advisor to key business leaders.
+ Analyze complex business problems and make recommendations.
+ Provide insight and foresight which may lead to optimization project recommendations.
+ Support business case development for process-focused initiatives across the Bank.
+ Leverage objective, data-driven Lean Six Sigma tools and methods in all process improvement work.
+ Develop and deploy control plans and monitoring reports which help the business sustain the gains from process improvements.
+ Report regularly on progress against established project plans.
+ Execute all tasks with high-quality, timely delivery. Manage multiple priorities effectively.
+ Maintain a constant vigilance to identify, quantify, and assess current and evolving best practices.
+ Coach others in the practical use of Lean Six Sigma tools and methods.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
+ Undergraduate degree in Business or Engineering related field. MBA or equivalent experience preferred. Industrial Engineers strongly encouraged.
+ Minimum five years of experience in delivering business results through process improvement projects. Demonstrated Lean Principles.
+ Lean Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt certification preferred.
+ Proven experience in change management and team building.
+ Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.
+ Business analysis experience.
+ Banking knowledge preferred.
+ Ability to present to senior management on sensitive subject matters.
+ Ability to lead and facilitate large groups toward the development of common solutions.
+ Proficient with MS-Windows and other related PC applications.
+ Knowledge of data analysis applications.

Key Responsibilities
