**Job Overview**
Fairview is seeking a dedicated and passionate Registered Nurse to join our Med/Surg Medical unit at our Edina, Minnesota campus. This is an exciting opportunity for a hardworking nurse looking to grow their career in a dynamic and supportive environment!

**About this Unit:**
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work on a medical/surgical unit? If so, then the Med/Surg-Medical Unit may be the right fit for you! This 32-bed unit includes 18 telemetry bed and is known for its superb teamwork, learning environment, and sense of family and camaraderie. The patient population on the Med/Surg-Medical Unit consists of Geriatric, Respiratory, GI, and Detox patients. This unit is widely known for high employee engagement scores, patient and family-centered care, and being a fun and engaging place to work.
+ 7 negative airflow rooms to accommodate respiratory isolation
+ Primarily provide inpatient care for adult and geriatric medical patients. Most patients have multiple complex health problems in addition to their admitting diagnosis.
+ Most common diagnoses include: pneumonia, GI bleed, COPD exacerbation, CHF, abdominal pain, diabetes with complications, infections caused by resistant and emerging organisms, and renal failure.
**Schedule:** **This position is 48 hours per two weeks on the day shift, 12 hours (7am -7:30pm), with every weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday).** **This position is eligible for the $15.00 incentive/per hour.**
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate.
**Responsibilities**
+ Assesses patient needs and identifies expected nursing outcomes.
+ Involves the patient, family and other health team members in gathering data.
+ Uses an ongoing, systematic process to gather relevant information (biological, psychological, spiritual and social aspects) from patient and family.
+ Analyzes data and information to identify potential risks, prioritize needs and determine priority problems.
+ Identifies outcomes that are age appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable.
+ Validates these with patient, family and other health team members.
+ Documents data and identified outcomes.
+ Develops an individualized nursing plan of care.
+ Collaborates with patient, family and other health team members to develop a nursing plan as part of an integrated, comprehensive plan of care
+ Develops an individualized plan based on age, social and cultural considerations, condition and other relevant needs.
+ Determines nursing interventions based on identified needs.
+ Identifies interdisciplinary resources needed to assist in implementing the nursing plan of care.
+ Prioritizes interventions based on patient acuity, available resources, and patient/family preferences and needs.
+ Documents and updates the plan of care to assure continuity throughout the continuum of care
+ Implements nursing interventions based on the plan of care.
+ Provides care according to the plan, and in accordance with all relevant policies, procedures and nursing practice guidelines.
+ Coordinates nursing care with the care of all other health team members.
+ Initiates age and culturally appropriate measures to support and meet patient needs while achieving expected outcomes.
+ Initiates patient/family teaching as appropriate to age, readiness to learn and available resources.
+ Collaborates, consults, or makes referrals if unable to perform safely and independently.
+ Delegates direct and indirect patient care activities to appropriate personnel based on needs, condition, potential for risk/harm, complexity of the skill and predictability of the outcome.
+ Assures all actions are based on scientific, ethical or ecological principles; proven effectiveness; past experience; practice standards; patient/family requests and values; or, legal parameters.
+ Uses the full range of therapeutic modalities to support and augment the healing process, moving from least intensive and invasive to more, depending on need and context.
+ Documents interventions according to practice guidelines.
+ Anticipates, recognizes and responds to emergent situations.
**Required Qualifications**
+ MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
+ Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)
+ Willingness and ability to train into the Charge RN role within six months of hire is required

The Department of Corrections is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN4) On-Call for the WA State Penitentiary in Walla Walla, WA.

  • Proficient using computer based programs to schedule, monitor and track patient information, perform data entry and word processing, and communicate via email, as well as other programs that may be needed to complete assigned work.

  • Experience working as a nurse in an acute care setting or a correctional facility.

Retirement and Deferred Compensation

Holidays
Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.

Sick Leave
Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Vacation (Annual Leave)
Full-time employees accrue vacation leave at the rates specified in (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Full-time employees who are in pay status for less than 80 nonovertime hours in a month do not earn a monthly accrual of vacation leave.

Part-time employees accrue vacation leave hours in accordance with (1) or the applicable collective bargaining agreement (CBA) on a pro rata basis. Vacation leave accrual will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment.

Pay status includes hours worked, time on paid leave and paid holiday.

As provided in , an employer may authorize a lump-sum accrual of vacation leave or accelerate the vacation leave accrual rate to support the recruitment and/or retention of a candidate or employee for a Washington Management Service position. Vacation leave accrual rates may only be accelerated using the rates established WAC .

Note: Most agencies follow the civil service rules covering leave and holidays for exempt employees even though there is no requirement for them to do so. However, agencies are required to adhere to the applicable RCWs pertaining holidays and leave.

Military Leave

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Under the general direction of the Sr. Psychologist, Supv/Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker I , the Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), works in Mental Health Services. The MFT diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders within the context of marriage, couples and family systems, the scope of the applicable Business and Professions Code(s), and license. Incumbents shall refer incarcerated patients to other licensed health care professionals in accordance with standardized procedures.

Education: Completion of a master's degree program from an accredited school for Marriage and Family Therapy, that meets the requirements stipulated in Business and Professional Code .

Licensure: Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science.

Job Description

Effective July 1, 2025, in accordance with the applicable Memorandum of Understanding, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) was implemented. PLP 2025 requires each full-time employee in Bargaining Unit 19 , and related Excluded, Exempt and Statutory Exempt employees, will have their base salary reduced by 3 percent and will receive 5 PLP 2025 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Salaries do not reflect the recent changes. Part-time employees are subject to the same conditions as full-time employees, on a prorated basis equivalent to their time-base. Permanent intermittent employees are subject to the same condition as full-time employees, based on the number of hours worked in the pay period.

Recruitment and Retention Bonus may be available for clinicians newly hired with California Correctional Health Care Services.

Please note: Individuals may be eligible to receive a $10,000 one-time recruitment and retention stipend should they meet the eligibility criteria, including but not limited to remaining employed with CCHCS for six months. The Supervising Psychiatric Social Worker (SPSW) will be supervised by the Chief Psychologist, and will report to the Correctional Health Services Administrator II and the Standards Compliance Coordinator regarding all social work issues pertinent to Title 22 or other licensure requirements. The SPSW will provide direct supervision to psychiatric social workers working with mentally or developmentally disabled persons in outpatient and inpatient settings, including evaluations, therapeutic interventions and discharge planning. The SPSW will ensure compliance with MHSDS Departmental and licensure standards in the provision of such services.
Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a valid license as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker issued by the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners. (Applicants who are in the process of securing their license from the California Board of Behavioral Science Examiners will be admitted to the examination, but must secure a valid license before they will be considered eligible for appointment.)

(Unlicensed individuals who are recruited from outside the State of California and who qualify for licensure may take the examination and may be appointed for a maximum of one year at which time licensure shall have been obtained or the employment shall be terminated. Additionally, they must take the licensure examination at the earliest possible date after the date of employment.) and Education: Completion of a master's degree program from an accredited school of social work, approved by the Council on Social Work Education or equivalent degree approved by the California Superintendent of Public Instruction under the provisions of California Education Code Section 94310. and Two years of post-licensed or post-certified experience as a clinical social worker meeting the supervisor requirements of Section (f)(3) of the Business and Professions Code. and Either I Two years of experience performing the duties of a Psychiatric Social Worker, Correctional Facility, in the California state service.

Experience: Four years of experience in psychiatric social work, at least one year of which must have been as a social work supervisor and at least two years of which must have been in a child guidance or psychiatric clinic, in a psychiatric outpatient program, in a psychiatric hospital, or in a psychiatric department of a hospital.
