What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Investigate, negotiate, and settle assigned claims efficiently.
  • Maintain an activity log of actions taken on each file while keeping an organized diary system.
  • Settle claims within authorized limits, ensuring compliance and effectiveness.
  • Build and sustain positive relationships with both internal and external customers by delivering exceptional service.
  • Conduct onsite and virtual inspections of damages to resolve coverage and damage issues while preparing thorough estimates for repairs.
  • Become an active member of the catastrophe team, participating in potential overnight travel on short notice to handle assigned claims.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including accessing and inspecting all areas of a building or structure, carrying and climbing ladders, safely lifting up to 40 lbs., walking on roofs, and entering confined spaces.

What You’ll Bring To The Company:

A bachelor's degree or a minimum of two years of professional business experience is required. Strong written and verbal communication skills, organization, and professionalism when interacting with others are essential. Familiarity with basic PC operations and applications such as word processing and spreadsheets is expected. A state-specific adjuster’s license may be required.

**The Field Property Claims Adjuster will be traveling to insured homes within the Seattle, WA (98115) and surrounding areas. In order to be successful within the role, candidates should live within this area or very close to.**

A regular work day will be in the field within your assigned local territory. Overnight travel for training and team meetings is limited and less than 10%.

Our commitment to providing optimal training for this position will include approximately 5 months of training with up to 2 weeks of in person training required.

Travel for in-person training is required during Weeks 4 and 7 in Lewisville, TX.

What we need
  • Provide prompt, courteous and high-quality customer service to all policyholders and claimants by answering customer calls, filing claims, and resolving customer requests
  • Gather necessary information from customers to initiate the claim and explain policy, coverage, and appropriate course of action
  • Manage an inventory of claims, establish initial reserves for all potential exposures, and adjust as appropriate throughout the claim
  • Investigates, determines coverage of loss and adjusts all elements of commercial property loss claims
  • Ability to write appraisals for dwelling repairs or coordinate with a team of field appraisers to review accuracy of appraisal written by IA
  • Explains coverage of loss including coinsurance, assists policyholders with itemization of damages, and mitigation steps. Experienced with business interruption claims
  • Ensure compliance with specific state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
  • Communicate with involved parties and negotiate appropriate settlements with claimants, insureds, and attorneys within approved payment authority
  • Provide input for continuous development of claims guidelines, best practices, and process improvements
  • Oversee and direct outside investigative service providers and work closely with the client and client counsel and investigative services to resolve the claim
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (lack of one should not stop you from applying if you possess all the other qualifications)
  • Active insurance adjuster's license by way of a designated home state, or home state
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with property claims
    • Commercial property claims experience
    • Desk and/or field appraisal experience
  • Willing to obtain all licenses within 45 days, including completing state required testing
  • Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate complex data and make sound decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures
  • Curious and motivated by problem solving and questioning the status quo

As a member of the Field Property Claims Team, you will play a vital role in providing an outstanding customer experience by using your investigative, problem solving, and negotiation skills to resolve a variety of homeowner claims in a fast paced, detail-oriented, team environment. In this role, you will frequently travel to the loss site to conduct a thorough investigation and analysis of coverage and write an estimate for repairs. Every day is a new & exciting challenge, as our Field Property Claims Adjusters use cutting edge homeowners products and services to help our customers through the claims process.

**The Field Property Claims Adjuster will be traveling to insured homes within the Abilene, TX (79605) and surrounding areas. In order to be successful within the role, candidates should live within this area or very close to.**

A regular work day will be in the field within your assigned local territory. Overnight travel for training and team meetings is limited and less than 10%.

Our commitment to providing optimal training for this position will include approximately 5 months of training with up to 2 weeks of in person training required.

Travel for in-person training is required during Weeks 4 and 7 in Lewisville, TX.

This role is eligible for a company car if mileage requirements are met. Additional information will be provided if you are moved forward to speak with a recruiter.

Liberty Mutual is offering a Sign On Bonus for experienced and actively licensed new hires! The bonus amount will vary based on experience and validation of P&C license.

In this role, you will:

  • Investigate and evaluate onsite to resolve complex coverage and damage issues to include preparing complete estimates of repair for the covered damages. This may include accessing roofs by ladder, inspecting attics, crawl spaces and basements in search of damage.
  • Handle moderate to complex claims independently while managing your workload {from first notice of loss to final closure}.
  • Be expected to work in a vehicle in the field daily while occasionally handling assignments from the desk.
  • Explain coverage of loss, assist policyholders with itemization of damages, emergency repairs and additional living arrangements.
  • Work with and coordinate a number of vendor services such as contractors, emergency repair, cleaning services and various replacement services.
  • May be called upon for catastrophe duty.
Qualifications
